On the 10th August, 2026 there was a change of leadership in the center. The immediate past Director Prof. A. B. C. Ezeibe handed over the mantle of leadership of the center to the current Director Prof. Paulinus Ugwuoke. HANDOVER OF THE UPGRADED LECTURE THEATRE.

The official handover of the newly upgraded lecture theatre at CEDR, done by CAPITALGATE STRUCTURES LTD. took place on July 15, 2026. The place was handed over to the Director of the center Prof. A.B.C. Ezeibe by the CEO of Capitalgate Structures ltd. through the Director of Physical planning of the University. This is marking another milestone in the University’s ongoing drive to enhance teaching and learning infrastructure under the administration of the current vice chancellor Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya.

The upgraded lecture theatre is designed to provide students with a modern comfortable and conducive learning environment, reflecting the University’s continued investment in academic excellence and quality education.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP, INNOVATION, AND BUSINESS CERTIFICATION (EIBIC) PROGRAMME OF THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

The Federal Government on Friday 28th March, 2026 introduced and launched the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC) programme, a game-changer for Nigeria’s tertiary education system. This compulsory programme will equip students in selected Universities with practical business skills, innovation strategies, and startup incubation, earning them an additional entrepreneurship certificate alongside their academic degree. The Director of CEDR UNN, Prof. A.B.C Ezeibe participated in this epoch making event and as well collected UNN Certificate on behalf of the vice chancellor Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya.
