Rick Rubin: In The Studio by Jake Brown

assr — Mon, 25 Apr 2022 21:03:45 +0000

$18.00

This book is not so much a blow-by-blolw account of what Rick Rubin does 'in the studio’ so much as the environment he creates.

From his days as founder of Def Jam records with Russell Simmons to discovering and producing the Beastie Boys, to his work with LL Cool J, Red Hot Chili Peppers and countless others, Rubin has remained steadfastly enigmatic. Rubiin is not a hands-on producer in the mould of Phil Spector or Arif Mardin, but more of an alchemist, with the uncanny ability to create magic in the studio across all musical genres and personality types.

assr — Wed, 01 Dec 2021 19:19:28 +0000

$24.95

By Brian Southall, Allan Rouse, Peter Vince

Foreword by Paul McCartney
Preface by George Martin

The Beatles' final album made London's Abbey Road recording studios forever famous. But from their 1931 opening, the studios had exerted a unique appeal for almost everyone who recorded there. This revised and updated edition contains many previously unseen pictures and brings the story of the studios right up to date – with anecdotes as good as the music made there.

This is an important book to have in your collection of All Things Beatles.
