How did you get started at Dfly?
I participated in other activities but needed something to increase my flexibility. During Covid, I started doing online classes and moved to the studios once things opened up again.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I had dabbled in yoga at a couple other studios but I didn’t like anyplace else well enough to stay before Dfly.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Several things. I have met many people at Dfly who have become friends. I often attend classes with friends, so it is exercise and a social activity! I go to UP classes at the end of the day which is a good way for me to deal with the stress at the end of the work day. I go to yin and flow classes on the weekends which is a great way for me to recharge.
I love having so many options and so many locations to choose from.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I am a much calmer and less angry person when I get to go to classes!
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to go 5 times a week when I can. Asking me to choose a favorite would be like asking me to pick a favorite pet (I have cats, not kids). I love the vibe of the up cases for overall fitness and energy. I love the flow/yin classes because I get to do both. I love the yin/meditation classes for their calming effect.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you!
I love how friendly and accepting the people at Dfly are. I look forward to classes and get antsy when life prevents me from attending. Even if I have to haul myself there, I am always so happy when the class is done.
How did you get started at Dfly?
I got started at Dfly a couple months after I moved to Madison after college. I was mostly running for exercise and kept getting hurt because I just straight up didn’t stretch or do any strength training. Since I can’t trust myself to stretch on my own, and weight training sounds like the most soul sucking activity in existence, Hot yoga seemed like the perfect way to force myself to actually work on my flexibility and strength. I never really intended to get into yoga heavily but after doing it for a while to supplement running I started to really enjoy yoga as I started getting better at it.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Prior to Dfly I’d never done hot yoga before. I think I did a class once in a high school gym, but I went in pretty unaware of what a yoga class would actually be like.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love how kind and encouraging everyone is. Dfly classes always focus on meeting your body where it’s at and using the time in the studio to focus on taking care of yourself. I always leave class feeling better than when I walked in, even when I’m absolutely drenched in sweat.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Physically, yoga classes have really helped me avoid injury as a runner. Mentally, I always feel grounded and calm after a class, which given my preference for working out in the morning, normally means I start the day in a good mood.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I normally attend a class 2-4 times a week. My favorite class is Vinyasa flow.
Instructor Gina K: “Hannah is sunshine! I feel so lucky that I get to see her practice grow each Friday morning. Her smile each week as she comes in the door is absolutely lovely.”

How did you get started at Dfly?
I was drawn to Dragonfly by the hot yoga offerings when the Fitchburg studio first opened! I attended yoga and barre classes sporadically over the years and have been consistently practicing yoga as a Dragonfly member since 2023.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Prior to joining Dragonfly I enjoyed attending group fitness, yoga and pilates classes through limited offerings at work, fitness centers, studios or online. The in-person group setting is always motivating for me.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the sense of accomplishment I feel when attending classes. Every class is different and each instructor offers a safe space to take what you need for yourself while at the same time sharing it with those in the room. It’s inspiring to see some of the same people in the same classes exploring and experiencing movement together.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Through consistency over time, I have built strength and confidence within my practice. Even on the days when I can’t keep my balance or hold a pose, yoga always provides a sense of grounding and calmness in my mind and body.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I attend classes 3-4 times a week and flow is my favorite! I’m most often in the standard vinyasa flow but enjoy all the variations and love the heat. It can be hard to prioritize time for yourself, but the different locations and range of times offered throughout the day make it convenient to schedule and always worthwhile.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I am starting to expand my yoga journey with further learning and exploration of varying methods and teacher training and am excited to be doing it as part of the Dragonfly community. I look forward to incorporating the benefits of yoga into my life more both on and off the mat and sharing it with others.
Instructor Kaylin H.: “Courtney’s practice is calm and steady. It’s been a pleasure to watch her progress, a testament to her consistency!”

How did you get started at Dfly?
I sampled all of the hot yoga studios when I moved to Madison and dragonfly was my favorite option.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Not much! I never had a membership before dragonfly. I had some sporadic prior interactions with yoga prior but nowhere that I tried had anything like what Dfly has to offer. The options of class styles, access to multiple locations, and class times that go throughout the entire day are unmatched!
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Whether it’s sweating it all out in a workout class, or whether it’s a rejuvenating flow and yin, the individual feeling of accomplishment and connection with peers + instructors keeps me coming back every time :)
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
My balance is up big time!
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to attend a class every day if I’m in town. Favorite class? No way, there are so many wonderful and unique instructors. I could never pick! You should check out Dallas – beautiful this time of year!
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
I have had 7 knee surgeries… Before I had the hindsight that this was a temporary blip in my life, I thought that I would never have a fully functional body again and that I would be dealing with chronic issues for the rest of my life. I love playing sports and getting exercise, it was such a big part of childhood and therefore me. The thought of not being able to move the way I want to for years to come was a dark part of my life.
Yoga, specifically hot yoga, has not only allowed me to get back on track, but has allowed me to do way more than I was able to prior to injury! I am so grateful for this life that I get to have thanks in part to dfly. I take every opportunity that I get to introduce people to this lovely studio! Thank you to all of the instructors and staff members for helping all of us live healthier lives!

How did you get started at Dfly?
I bought a 10 class pass to get me through my first Wisconsin winter. Then I bought one, forgot about it until I got a 1-month expiration warning, used all my passes in that month and decided if I can go to 10 classes in a month I might as well get a membership.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Not much, I had taken classes here and there and enjoyed them. I was a student athlete in college and had been struggling to find an exercise routine that worked with my grown up life when I decided to commit to Dfly.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love having designated time set aside for exercise where I don’t need to come up with the workout or pick the music; I can just push myself and sweat it out.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
Yes! It feels so good to have muscles again.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
A few times a week, Colleen’s 75 minute flow and yin is the BEST but I attend Brooklyn’s Power Up almost every week and love that one too.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you!
I love the wide range of classes you offer! Being able to come in for a relaxing Yin or an energizing and exhausting Power-Up depending on what my body needs is wonderful.
Side note! I also teach salsa and bachata with Capitol Social and some fellow yogis have come to those events and had a good time.

How did you get started at Dfly?
I started at Dragonfly about 11 years ago. I was looking for a more consistent pilates or yoga practice and a friend posted on Facebook that she was teaching her final FREE yoga class of 200-hour teacher training at Dragonfly, so I signed up to try it out and was hooked.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I took some Pilates/Yoga classes on and off for a few years at the Fitchburg Community Center when my 2 sons were little.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I love the idea of making the class my own and taking what I need from what the instructor offers. I’ve really embraced that concept these last few months with returning to my yoga practice after an injury.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
My yoga practice at Dragonfly has not only helped with my physical well-being (e.g., flexibility, balance, and strength), but it’s improved my mental well-being as well.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I typically attend 2-3 classes a week. My favorite classes have changed over the years, currently I’m really enjoying Yin, Flow, and the combo Flow & Yin classes.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you!
Dragonfly has become such an essential part of my routine self-care, so much so that when I was injured earlier this year it was with great sadness that I had to put my membership on hold until my doctor cleared me to return. Since returning to Dragonfly I’ve learned to give myself more grace and truly listen to my body. I really appreciate the instructors frequent reminders to do what’s right for your body today.
We recently moved to the area and searched online for hot yoga. We were very happy when we came the first time and knew our search was over. It became evident that DragonFly Hot Yoga was meant to be.
We lived in different states and attended different classes in each town. Usually the heat was inconsistent and mostly not hot enough. You have very good air circulation and cleanliness. We are very happy with the heat at your studio.
We enjoy coming early and feel satisfied after the class. We love all the teachers, the class variety, and the convenience of your studio.
Yes, we have experienced many positive changes in our bodies. Better balance, more flexibility, and overall toning. The changes have been very good for us. I (Dave) have an old pinched nerve injury that tightened my body up and am improving my flexibility.
We attend classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Tuesday, we are taken to a deep place of centering and relaxation. Thursday, we are pushed a bit harder. On Sundays, we are again challenged in a good way. So you see we can not choose a favorite because all the classes and teachers are our favorite.
We love absolutely everything about your studio. The only thing we can struggle with from time to time is hearing the teachers. That’s on us, we are getting older and don’t hear like we used to. So we need to look around more rather than just listen. Aside from that we love everything. DFly Hot yoga is really a top notch studio. Everything is set up perfectly. We are seasonal residents and will have a difficult time finding a studio in Florida that comes close to yours. At our age, it requires a lot of maintenance to stay in shape and feeling good. Hot yoga is probably the best thing I have done to make that happen. We play pickleball and I do quite a bit of construction type work on the new home we purchased. We often overdo things and get reminded of our age. Thank you for creating a great yoga studio!
Instructor Morgan H.: “I have watched Dave and Robin dedicate themselves to this class over the past few months and I am thoroughly impressed. Robin’s presence in her practice has changed drastically and Dave continues to expand into his asanas. The fact that they not only continue to show up, but show up together—pushing each other and supporting each other—is nothing short of inspiring.”

How did you get started at Dfly?
I moved to a rural area southwest of Madison just over a year ago and was looking for a new yoga studio. One of my coworkers recommended Dragonfly, and I haven’t looked back!
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I first dabbled in yoga while studying theater in college in Milwaukee, but I didn’t begin practicing consistently until I moved to Spring Green after graduation for a job opportunity. There, I found Rural Remedy Yoga, where I built the foundation of my practice over the next few years.
In 2023, a new career opportunity brought me to Madison’s east side, just five minutes from Main Street Yoga Center. I took full advantage of that and attended classes most days of the week. Both Rural Remedy and Main Street Yoga Center emphasized the mind-body connection and proper alignment, which gave me an incredible foundation to continue growing my practice when I joined Dragonfly.
What do you enjoy most about attending Dfly classes?
I love the challenge. Yoga is just as much a mental practice as it is a physical one, and it’s one of the few places where I can completely disconnect from the outside world. Before Dragonfly, I had never practiced in a heated room, and now I absolutely love it.
I also appreciate the judgment-free environment that every instructor helps create. Whether I want to make a sequence more challenging, scale it back, or take a variation that’s different from everyone else, I always feel comfortable doing what’s best for my body.
Have you experienced any changes in your overall well-being since taking classes?
The more I practice yoga, the more my body craves it. If I go more than a few days without a class, I start to feel restless and anxious, like I have all this pent-up energy that needs somewhere to go. Yoga is the best outlet for that energy, and I always leave class feeling more grounded and balanced.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to attend class at least four times a week. A classic Vinyasa Flow will always have my heart, but you can also usually find me at Tuesday night’s Core Flow with Lexie or one of the Friday Power Flow classes!
I especially enjoy Kaylin H.F.’s classes because it’s clear she designs thoughtful and intentional sequencing and does an excellent job cueing each pose.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you.
Growing up, I never really enjoyed traditional forms of challenging exercise. I’ve always been more of a “go for a hike” kind of girl. It wasn’t until I started doing yoga that I discovered a form of movement I genuinely enjoyed, something that challenged me, connected me to my body, and calmed my nervous system.
That love of yoga has inspired me to try some of Dragonfly’s other class offerings and start a regular weightlifting routine at my local gym, which is something I never would have imagined doing a few years ago. I’m also hoping to begin my 200-hour yoga teacher training later this year to deepen my practice and continue learning. Yoga has truly transformed my life for the better, and I’m so grateful to have found a community in Dragonfly.
Instructor Lexi B:”I always enjoy seeing Beatrice in class. I admire her dedication to her practice and her willingness to explore within her practice. She always arrives on her mat with grace, focus, and strength. It’s inspiring and motivating for others in the studio.”

How did you get started at Dfly?
A couple of friends dragged me along last winter, and I just never stopped going after that.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
Pretty spotty. I had tried yoga before, but never found something I connected with enough to stay consistent. I think I saw it more as exercise than an experience of connecting with my body and being present.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
Flow and Yin are the ones I keep coming back to. I love the movement and energy of Flow, but especially the stillness of Yin, it helps me settle into my body. I also bring mindfulness of the four elements, earth, water, fire, and air, into my practice. Being in the heat gives me a tangible way to connect with the fire element, while movement, breath, and stillness help me experience the others.
Have you experienced any changes in your overall well-being since taking classes?
Yes, definitely, and I think the people around me notice it too. It’s not something I can fully explain; it’s more something you experience than describe.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I try to go five times a week. I have lots of favourites, Marc’s Aroma Flow, Allie and Emma’s Yin and Flow, and Melissa’s Adventurous Flow, but Rachel’s Yin takes the top spot. There’s something about the room, the positivity, and the way she brings calm and embodiment into the practice. It just hits differently.
Any other thoughts on Dfly, hot yoga, or your life?
Dfly has become more than just exercise for me. It’s an experience of slowing down, reconnecting with my body, and noticing what’s happening in the moment. I’ve learned that growth isn’t always about pushing harder; it can also be about just staying, breathing, softening, and simply being with our true, beautiful nature.
Instructor Rachel G: “Tutu frequents my Friday night Yin 60 classes at DFly East. He is a genuine human and enthusiastic yogi who embraces the challenges that Yin presents. It is so clear that he finds enjoyment out of all parts of the practice: the asana, pranayma, meditation and connection to spirit!”

How did you get started at Dfly?
I started going to Dragonfly after I got vaccinated for COVID. I longed to be in a hot room and practicing yoga with others. My first class was a Yoga Up class with Laura, and I remember I was not expecting yoga with weights. Through the years, I have learned to love both the flow and fitness classes.
What was your yoga/barre experience before Dfly?
I fell in love with hot yoga in college. The repetition and physical and mental challenge of yoga are so therapeutic for me, and I’m so grateful to have found amazing instructors at Dragonfly.
What do you enjoy most from attending Dfly classes?
I’m grateful to be a part of this space and community. It’s so wonderful to attend the classes, see familiar faces, and catch up with many who are now friends. It’s always nice to start my day with a sweat and catch up with Charlotte before heading to work.
Have you experienced any changes in your total well-being since taking classes?
I feel physically and mentally better after classes, and it’s a great way to start each day.
How often do you attend classes? Favorite class?
I typically attend morning classes 6 days a week. I can’t choose a favorite. I love Colleen and Marc for their complex, therapeutic flows; Jake for the most entertaining classes; Brooklyn for her creativity; and Kim for pushing me beyond what I often think I’m capable of.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts you have about Dfly, hot yoga, or your life as we would love to know more about you!
My favorite pose is probably plough pose or halfmoon. Outside of yoga, I enjoy cooking, birding, playing with my cat, and traveling. I always like the spot by the window to peep the birds flying around.
