Grace is THE worst. Some people are sort of the the worst, others are like the actual ALMOST worst, but only Grace is the actual, literal worst. And it’s not because she’s super popular or anything, but because she can’t accept that she’s not super popular and she tries way too hard, which makes her not popular. Like, grow UP, Grace. Accept that this is a rigid caste system and that you’ll always be in the same spot, like…gosh. Wow. So dumb.
The other day she was seriously telling everyone that her Dad was an inventor and had discovered an asteroid! Then Grace was going on and on about how her air conditioner broke and that she is going ot fix it by watching tutorials online! Are you kidding me!? Without the help of some Bayside air con servicing experts she has no chance.
I’m like…Grace. Grace, come on. You only latched onto the air con thing after we all went into the classroom for further maths in the afternoon (and maths in the afternoon is the genuine worst, by the way), and everyone was all like ‘yes, air con, it’s SO hot outside’ and Grace just pipes up with this weird line about her being an expert in all things cooling. We all just give her this look, like…Grace, don’t do this to yourself, yet again. Just last week she tried to convince us that her grandpa invented tomato sauce, and I’m like…ugh, Grace, stop!
I can’t possibly believe the air conditioning thing, because I’m pretty sure Grace told us once that her Dad brought sheep to Australia in the 1970s, and if it’s also true about him being the one who suggested that the Queen butt out and Australia get a prime minister in 1983, then that guy is way too busy to be messing around with air con technology, like, for reals. Grace just keeps throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks. Today’s, air conditioning repair companies in Brighton, and tomorrow it will be something different. Her aunt is the one who designed Joyful Square, or their family patented frosty biscuits. I should keep a record, because it’d be hilarious.

I ask my phone a lot of stuff. I’ll just have random questions during the day and I’ll be asking my phone stuff left and right, like…all kinds of things. Conversions from normal measurements to American measurements, or what was the height of Blackbeard. And that led me to a question about the difference between blackcurrants and blackberries (they’re definitely different things, even though I can’t remember why), and then I was all like while I’m on fruit, I might as well ask why there aren’t more fizzy drinks that are strawberry flavoured. No answer for that one…is it some kind of spooky mystery? Am I on a watch list because I ask too many questions?
I ask a lot of financial stuff as well, because it’s been an interesting year for that kind of stuff. Like, ‘phone, is it better and more efficient overall to get a buyers advocate for properties in Brighton?’ I don’t know, everyone in the office is talking about them, and that makes my searching fingers itchy. Buyers advocates, eh? I must find out everything there is to know about them, even if they’re a little beyond my current budget. It’s the same reason I look up properties for rent within my budget, even though I already rent a place and I have no intentions of moving. It just feels like useful research, to see what COULD be, and might be in the future. Although it’s the same with rental properties AND buyers advocates. You have to move fast in the housing market, or someone else will snap up a property in the world’s second-best city to live. That’s why companies that offer property advocacy near Melbourne are probably swept off their feet and don’t have time to deal with inquiries from randoms. And it’s also why my phone exists…so I can ask it all of this stuff.

Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by how the human body worked, especially our feet. Watching athletes run and dancers glide, I became intrigued by the mechanics behind it all. I remember telling my parents I wanted to help people walk, run, and move without pain. As I grew older, that passion only intensified. I spent countless hours studying and shadowing professionals, eager to learn. Now, as I stand on the brink of becoming a podiatrist, I feel excited and fulfilled. Helping people stay on their feet has always been my dream, and I can’t wait to start.
I finally told my parents that I have decided to become a podiatrist. I do want to do podiatry in real life at some point. My desire has only grown stronger since I walked past the podiatrists open in Cheltenham. They seem to have such a good reputation and that’d be a short commute for me. I’m currently studying health-sciences, and I don’t exactly want to quit in the middle, since it could be useful in the future. When I try to become a real podiatrist I can cite this as SOME kind of experience.
I’m learning all about foot fungus diseases, toenail fungus, achilles tendinitis, all of that stuff, there’s been a whole heck of a lot of stuff to learn. And you DO have to learn them all. There’s exams you have to pass before you can register as a podiatrist I’m sure. I bet it’s got a super strict margin for error, so I count myself fortunate that I’m able to memorise long lists of foot problems, with associated pictures (yep). A lot of people don’t even know you can get foot diseases, which is why I will have so many clients. Someone notices they have nail fungal infection, and there’s only a small handful of podiatrists in the area to turn to. Podiatry isn’t THE most glamorous field of medicine, but that doesn’t matter to me. I’ve always admired it, and with so much to learn, the stimulation is there. One day, it’ll be me.

Tommy, if you’re reading this, I want you to know that you broke my heart. We came so close to achieving greatness together. You would have been my first partner since King Arthur. Your legacy would have been just as great as his, if not greater, had you just been able to eat a single pickle. I knew the last of my one thousand provisions was a tough ask, but that’s what makes it so perfect. For somebody to be my business partner, I need absolute dedication from them. That’s what the provisions are for. But unfortunately, Tommy has failed me at the final hurdle, and now I must move on.
For some strange reason, I always go to watch Melbourne steel fabricators at work when I’m bothered about something. I find something comforting about the smell of metal being produced, the sound of it being shaped. I feel at home here, like a sword in stone. It makes me feel at peace with the world, helping me forget that everything is falling apart. I’m also here to pick up some steel supplies which I ordered, expecting Tommy to pass the test. I won’t need these supplies anymore, seeing as I can’t make us friendship bracelets, but I already bought the best steel supplies. Close to Melbourne, it’s easy to forget how lucky we have it. Although I am broken-hearted, I’m going to be giving away these steel supplies, given I have no need for them. I’m lucky to be in a position where I can afford to give away such quality steel for free.
I’m sorry if that felt a little random. I’m just hurting, so I’ve tried to find something positive in all this pain. Who knew that being a lover of great window replacement could hurt so much? I thought Tommy and I were going to make a great team. Now I have to revise my one thousand provisions so that it’s actually possible for somebody to pass my testing. I suppose it’s back to the drawing board.

Alright, so the ocean office thing didn’t work out. I’d been following the blog for a while, and I really liked the idea. We at the Futurist Club were convinced that this was going to be the future, the workplace of tomorrow where people would commute upwards to the surface, instead of horizontally across poorly-maintained roads. Currently, it looks like this wasn’t meant to be. Maybe at some point, when the infrastructure is more…there?
You can’t just get an office glass tinting company out to where you are, and then expect them to do their flawlessly-efficient work with no real ocean experience, or special stabilisation tools. They’re going to encounter the same types of problems when they finally get round to building the lunar colony, made of several glass bubbles, which are themselves comprised of hexagonal panes of glass. It will look fabulous, but life up there will be very frustrating at first. You want the glass tinted by a commercial tinting company? Well, you need to summon one from Earth, because there’s not enough space to set up a permanent business there. Such a pain, and in a place where window tinting is infinitely more important because of there being no atmosphere to protect you from the sun’s rays. Window tinting will probably be one of the very first places set up there, to be sure, but at the start there’s not going to be anything. Just a lot of irritated scientists who have to walk around shielding their eyes all the time, or wear permanent specs.
It’s going to be quite a testament to human ingenuity once it’s all done, though. Hopefully we can promptly install the commercial decorative glass. Melbourne can be quite sunny in the warmer months and having a tinted film will make all the difference. We need a strong place that can have a presence up there, so the domes will have that local flair. We’re a city of artisans, after all. I want THAT taken to the stars.

When fixing a joint or tendon, there are a few different approaches that can be taken. These approaches are subject to how big the injury is, and where it is located.
The elbow is a very mobile part of the body that connects the form arm bones to the upper arm bone. The elbow joint provides movement to the arms and helps us reach, extend and rotate. Some people even experience a phenomenon called hyperextension. If someone’s elbow hyper extends it means that their elbow has the ability to bend their arm back more than the average person. Elbow joints can be subject to inflammation, injury and other joint diseases. When this happens the patient can experience severe discomfort and will require a more involved treatment.
The words ‘what is an elbow arthroscopy’ get muttered around waiting rooms more frequently than one would imagine. To put it simply, it is a procedure that intentionally uses small incisions and thin instruments. To start, two to three incisions are made near the elbow. One incision is for the insertion of a camera device called an ‘arthroscope’. This camera-lens magnifies images of the elbow to be displayed on a TV screen. Tools will be inserted into the other opening and will be used to treat the injury or ailment. To expand the joint, a sterile solution is infused into the elbow to allow for extra room to work. Once the process is complete, stitches are used to close the area. Dressing is then applied to keep the place safe from future issues. The patient is to do their best to keep the dressing dry and they will receive instruction on how to change everything and look after the elbow during the healing procedure.
This is also seen in rotator cuff repair and knee procedures. Sometimes it can be preferable for everyone as it is less involved so time to heal is a lot quicker. It’s always advised to consider all your option before making any decisions regarding elbow injuries.

A few months ago, my husband and I received an unexpected surprise that changed our lives—a sizeable inheritance from a distant relative. Suddenly, the dreams we had been nurturing for years seemed within reach. For as long as I can remember, we had wanted to renovate our outdated kitchen, and now we finally had the means to make it happen.
Our recent trip to New York had left a lasting impression on us. The sleek, modern kitchens we encountered there, with their chic countertops, state-of-the-art appliances, and a touch of industrial charm, had us dreaming of bringing a slice of that style back home. Melbourne’s culinary scene is vibrant, and we wanted a kitchen that could reflect that energy.
With excitement bubbling, we began our search for professionals who could bring our vision to life. While the kitchen was our primary focus, we couldn’t ignore the opportunity to upgrade our bathroom as well. After all, if we were going to renovate, we wanted a cohesive look throughout our home. We eventually found a team known for their high-quality bathroom renovations in Melbourne, and their portfolio instantly reassured us that we were in capable hands.
The process started with a series of consultations where we shared our inspirations from New York. The designers listened carefully, suggesting ways to incorporate those elements into our space. Their expertise shone through when they proposed a unique bathroom design that perfectly complemented the modern kitchen we had envisioned. They managed to blend elegance with practicality, creating a space that felt both luxurious and functional.
As the renovations progressed, it was thrilling to see our home transform. The kitchen, with its sleek finishes and open layout, quickly became our favourite place. The bathroom, meanwhile, became a serene retreat, a perfect contrast to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The attention to detail was impeccable, and every element felt thoughtfully chosen and expertly installed.
Now, as I stand in our newly renovated kitchen, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude. This inheritance allowed us to create a home that truly reflects our style and aspirations. It’s more than just a place to live. This is a space where we can cook, relax, and entertain, surrounded by elements that inspire us every day. Our New York-inspired kitchen and elegant bathroom are reminders of the journey that brought us here and the exciting future ahead.

In the quaint suburbs of Melbourne, two families embarked on the adventurous journey of bathroom renovations. The Clarkes of Beaumaris were brimming with unbridled enthusiasm, their spirits as high as the pile of mismatched tiles that now adorned their living room floor. Armed with an arsenal of DIY tools and a dangerously overconfident attitude fueled by binge-watching home renovation shows, they were determined to transform their drab bathroom into a dazzling haven.
Just a stone’s throw away, the Bennetts of Sandringham adopted a more measured approach. Understanding their own limitations, they opted for professional ensuite bathroom renovations, believing in the magic touch of experts. Their home buzzed with a different kind of energy, one of calm precision and meticulous planning. Design meetings became the heart of the house, where swatches, samples, and sketches painted the picture of an impending masterpiece.
As the Clarkes dove headfirst into the chaos of their self-managed project, their bathroom soon resembled a puzzling labyrinth of pipes and tiles. It was one of the strangest bathroom renovations for homes in Beaumaris you’d ever see. Each day brought a new challenge, a testament to their unyielding optimism, even in the face of plumbing puzzles and the bewildering task of tile selection.
Meanwhile, the Bennetts moved with deliberate intent, their trust in seasoned professionals evident in every smooth decision. The contrast between the two homes couldn’t have been starker: one a whirlwind of enthusiastic yet haphazard action, the other a serene temple of design, each detail carefully orchestrated.
The stage was set, the players ready, and the tale of two renovations began to unfold. One, a testament to the brave souls who dare to tread the treacherous waters of DIY, the other, a homage to the artistry and precision of professional design. As the suburbs of Beaumaris and Sandringham watched with bated breath, only time would tell the outcome of these parallel bathroom transformations.

Dear Mum and Dad,
I will be the first to admit when I’ve made a mistake. However, I am happy to report that moving overseas has been one of the best experiences of my life. Whilst I miss you both dearly, I hope you can understand how I might be enjoying myself. The local parks are beautiful and it’s been so sunny that I’m actually beginning to get a tan!
How are you both? I hope everything is going well at home. I finally got a car and am making use of dad’s insistence that I needed to learn to drive a manual. It’s an old second-hand car. It definitely needed some tender love and care. I’ve done all of the DIY car maintenance; topped up the coolant and brake fluid, performed an oil change and even replaced the windshield wipers! (Yes, I did that without any help, dad.)
It makes a strange noise when I turn the key in the ignition though. I’m having a car mechanic near Underwood check it out this week in case there is something wrong with the engine. It’ll also be a good excuse to give it a general car service, too. Lord knows how long it’s been since it got one.
I wanted to ask Dad: What are the reasons for my car taking a long time to start? It makes a noise when I turn the key, but then it takes several tries to actually start. I am worried that there’s something wrong with the battery. Please don’t tell me I have to also find a place for car battery replacement near me.
The more that this problem continues, the more I wish that I had you guys to rely on. It’s been really hard to live so far away from you, car problems aside. I hope that you are taking care of each other. I’m sending you both heaps of invisible hugs alongside this letter!
I hope you can feel it.
Love you both,
Rune

The creature crashed into Tammy with the force of a heavy boulder. Her knees shook dangerously underneath her, trying to hold steady. Slobber ran down her arms as she tried to shield herself against the excitable storm.
Heavy stone paws found their way onto her chest. Already unsteady, she fell to the ground. There was little time to catch her breath. An onslaught of wet kisses landed on her arms, cheeks and legs. “Alright buddy, I’m down,” Tammy cried out, laughter creeping past her lips. “I’m down!”
Satisfied with the attention, the chimera bounded off her, choosing to instead run circles around her legs. Tammy used the nearby kitchen counter to stand and brushed the yellow fur from her pants. She tread carefully on the modern tiling she had installed, the brand new tiles already slick with spit. “If I knew that you’d show up, I wouldn’t have spent all that time consulting with the kitchen designers near Melbourne.”
Tammy inspected the ‘damage’ of his attention. Her pure white pants were coated with a thick muck. Annoyance flashed through her body like lightning, fast but ultimately dissipating into thin air. There was no way to stay annoyed as the chimera tilted his head, panting as it drew in sharp breaths of air.
“I guess I did a number on you too,” she smiled, walking into the laundry room to chuck her pants into the machine. Alongside the laundry renovations, she had insisted on a laundry machine replacement and a dryer installation. Maybe the chimera was helping her test out her new home design.
It certainly seemed like the creature was intent on testing the durability of all of the kitchen furniture. The amount of teeth marks she had found on the armchair was astounding. The creature had adopted her, showing up on her doorstep unannounced and waltzing into the apartment. She hadn’t had the heart to kick it out, but now she wondered. How was she going to take care of it?
