Not a ton of play footage in there, but you get the idea. WWE 2k19 looks a lot like previous entries in the series. But of course, that’s to say with the usual host of improvements that we seem to get every year. The title will have those, with new match types and more all included.
It’s also got one of the best classic Superstar rosters that I’ve seen in the modern crop of WWE games. It seems to be loaded up with almost a full roster of icons, even without the cadre of current-gen wrestlers. Not that there aren’t plenty of those too. If you love the WWE today, then your fave grappler is probably in here.
As I mentioned earlier too, you could be playing it as early as this week. If you purchased either the Deluxe or the Wooooo Edition of the game, then you’ll get a head start on the game and be able to play this Friday. That’s a fun four days on the standard version, which arrives at retail next Tuesday. Not too bad if you’re a big fan.

From everything that we’ve seen so far, WWE 2K19 looks like it might be a winner. Every year usually brings improvements for the long-running franchise, but this new installment seems to have more than usual.
Here’s a sampling of what’s been added or beefed up:
As boring as it might sound, I’m actually most excited for the ability to leave a cage via the door. I don’t think that’s ever been done before in a grappling game. The Payback system sounds like it might be interesting too, and I love that new series of match types. That’s good stuff.
WWE 2K19 hits for consoles and the PC on October 9th, or on the 5th if you buy into the Wooooo! Edition. You can check out the full list of features and a bit more here, on the official blog for the game.

Well, this is more like it. I’m not a fan of the current WWE, but the classic Federation and Attitude years? Hell yes. So when I saw that this year’s game would be stocked with over 50 classic superstars, the temptation to pick up a copy shot through the roof.
The above video, which is hosted by the likes of Rusev and Lana, also has special guests Sheamus and Cesaro. In it, the foursome of modern WWE talent talk about this week’s announcements. If you haven’t watched it, there are some all-time greats that’ll be in this one.
No, before you ask, there’s no Hogan. Not yet anyway. Bu you will find the likes of:
…and plenty more.
It honestly sounds like a complete roster all by itself. That’s a very solid “best of” the (in)arguably greatest two eras of pro wrestling. Of course there are missing pieces in there, but that’s what the Create-a-Wrestler feature is for, isn’t it?
WWE 2K19 rings the bell on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 9th. Oh and don’t forget that if you get the deluxe or collector’s edition (Wooooo!) you’ll get to play a full four days early, on October 5th.

Daniel Bryan probably isn’t what you immediately think of what you think “WWE Champion”. He’s not the biggest, or the most ostentatious. He does have heaps of charisma however, legions of fans, and is able to deliver a great match.
All of that is necessary in a WWE flagship character, so it honestly seems kind of fitting that the Showcase in 2K19 is dedicated to Bryan.
For those unaware, Bryan recently made his way back to the WWE. And the Showcase mode will be surprisingly up to date with all of those happenings. Throughout the narrative, you’ll wrestle (sorry) with all of his struggles in the ring, and even fight your way back to the big leagues.
In the mode, you’ll play out “The Return of Daniel Bryan”. That basically shakes out to mean that you’ll play “the most epic career challenges and highlights that have made him the beloved Superstar he is today.” So, if you’re a Bryan fan, then this is one story mode that you’re going to want to play through.

I can’t say I’m too familiar with the current crop of WWE wrestlers, but there are a ton of them in this announcement. And if you’re a fan, I’m pretty sure you’re going to find a few to be happy about. Not that there aren’t some classic wrestlers in the game too, because icons like Big Show, Triple H, and Rhyno are all in this initial announcement.
The current generation’s list however, starts with the hosts of this very trailer. And by that I mean Rusev, Lana, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel. The game also includes the likes of Alexa Bliss, Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, Matt Hardy, Kevin Owens, and lots more.
This is just part one too, remember. There are plenty more reveals to come, and that’s not counting the grapplers who had previously been announced. As pre-order bonuses, both Rowdy Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio can also be added to your copy of the game.
WWE 2K19, and the Wooooo! Special Edition (that highlights Ric Flair) will hit retail on October the 5th.

There have been few wrestlers like Ric Flair. More a legend in the WCW than the old WWF (now WWE), Flair has really been one of the biggest and most powerful forces in pro wrestling. He’s won various world championship belts a ridiculous amount of times, and consistently been larger than life. And his promos are legendary. Really, if you haven’t watched some of the compilations on YouTube, you have to. They are hilarious.
This year’s edition of WWE 2K celebrates the champ, with the Wooooo! Edition. Packed with Flair-related goodies, the special edition of WWE 2K19 should please most fans of the champ. There’s even a piece of one of his robes packed into the box. That’s just plain cool. As a side-note too, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gets you Rey Mysterio and “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey as a bonus.
Lets’ get back to Flair though, since he’s the point of this story. 2K Games has released a special 25 minute mini-doc about the legend, that has him talking about some of his greatest moments. Also included in the video is his daughter Charlotte Flair – who’s the current Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Check it out below. WWEk 2K19 hits stores for the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as digitally for the PC on October 5th.

I’m pretty much a lapsed fan when it comes to the WWE, so I don’t really get Daniel Bryan or his saga. There are a lot of fans who do though, and for them this is probably pretty cool news.
Bryan will be the character in WWE 2K19’s Showcase, which means that he’ll basically be the single player character for the “story mode” in the game. 2K says that gamers will be able to relive “the most epic moments, the highlights and the challenges, from Daniel Bryan’s career that have made him the WWE Superstar he is today.”
The “Return of Daniel Bryan” Showcase features vignettes with historic WWE footage and Daniel Bryan’s own words that give context and backstory to the subsequent matches that gamers will play through, enabling players to truly feel the adversity that Daniel Bryan has faced each step of his WWE career. Fight for his dream by competing in 11 objective-based, legendary matches, and one additional “surprise” match, playing as variations of Daniel Bryan to unlock historic arenas, Superstars, attires and championships.
You can read more about the new mode (as well as Bryan himself) here on 2K’s blog. WWE 2K29 hits consoles and the PC on October 9th.

Challenge towers might not be a new inclusion for fighting games, but they sure are for wrestling games. And that’s what fans will find in 2K Games’ latest grappler, WWE 2k19. The game will feature a mode actually dubbed “Towers”, where gamers will find some sharp challenges.
In each Tower, players will also be challenged with difficult win conditions and fun stipulations, such as reaching a specific score, starting a match with a finisher or completing an event by starting with the player already at low health.
If that’s not enough for you, there’s also one Tower to rule them all with the AJ Styles Million Dollar Tower. As you might imagine, beating that one might take you a while. According to 2K, you’ll need some honed skills to take that one on. It’ll lead you into a presumably tough matchup against Styles himself.
There’ll be weekly Towers made available, as well as ones based on Pay-Per-Views, which sounds really neat. There’s plenty more info on all of the above right now, including how you can partake in something called the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge. You can check out all of that on 2K’s site here.

Is Ric Flair one of the greatest wrestlers of all time? That’s kind of an easy question to answer, as he surely is. A world champ many (many) times over, Flair has grappled for NWA, WCW, WWF, WWE, and probably a few more than I’m missing. He’s a legend in robes, and still a fan favorite, even years after his retirement.
And now he’s being honored by 2K with the WWE 2K19 Wooooo! Edition. Here’s what’s in the box:
Exclusive playable arena: Starrcade 1983
Exclusive in-game attire: Ric Flair (WrestleMania 24 robe) and Charlotte Flair (WrestleMania 32 robe)
Access to WWE 2K19 pre-order bonus digital content (playable Rey Mysterio “Royal Rumble 2018” character and playable Ronda Rousey “WrestleMania 34/‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper-inspired” character)
Fanatics limited edition commemorative plaque featuring a fabric piece from Ric’s iconic pink or purple robe
WWE SuperCard limited edition cards featuring Ric and Charlotte Flair, as well as a Ric-themed WWE 2K19 cardback.
“For all of my fans around the world, it’s exciting and humbling to see my career immortalized through the power of video games,” said Ric Flair. “This is going to be one stylin,’ profilin,’ limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ ‘n’ dealin’ son of a collector’s edition, and you don’t want to miss out. Wooooo!”
In additino to all of the above, you’ll also get a little early jump on WWE 2k19 if you buy in for this edition. Pre-ordering the WWE 2K19 Wooooo! Edition (at participating retailers) means you’ll get to play 2k19 on Friday the 5th of October. That’s a four day head start over those who don’t pre-order, or do so for the standard edition. That version is set to arrive on the 9th.

Carrying on the name of the late, great WWF superstar Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ronda Rousey has made a splash in the world of pro-wrestling. And now she’s ready to make her video game debut. An in-game Rousey will be the second pre-order bonus for 2K Games’ WWE 2k19.
“As a WWE Superstar, having support from the Piper family means everything to me,” said Ronda Rousey. “It’s an honor to be part of WWE 2K19 and have my name mentioned alongside so many important Superstars in WWE history, including Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle®, Ultimate Warrior®, Sting
and Goldberg
.”
“Anybody can call themselves ‘Rowdy’, but it takes a special, talented and dedicated individual to live up to the ‘Rowdy’ name,” said Colt Toombs, son of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. “My dad saw it in Ronda, and so do we. She is truly ‘Rowdy to the core,’ and that mindset really comes through in the trailer for WWE 2K19.”
Set for release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, WWE 2k19 rings the opening bell on October 9th.
