The podcast episode, which you can listen to here, was a passionate exploration of what it means to be audaciously authentic in today’s world. Hosted by Yamile Hazim, the episode featured a candid conversation between us offering listeners a comprehensive view of this highly empowering concept.
Unveiling the Essence of Audacious Authenticity
During the podcast, the idea that authenticity is a journey, rather than a fixed destination, was beautifully emphasized. We shared personal anecdotes that highlighted how our experiences and introspections continually shape our understanding of ourselves. We both agreed that embracing authenticity is an ongoing process that requires self-awareness, vulnerability, and a willingness to adapt.
Social expectations and norms often dictate how we should behave, look, and even feel. The discussion underscored the importance of breaking free from these chains and discovering our own unique paths. By embracing audacious authenticity we overcome challenges and prejudices to challenge societal limitations.
Embracing vulnerability can be a transformative experience. Opening up about our fears, dreams, and insecurities can create profound connections with others and encourage them to do the same.
A particularly impactful aspect of the discussion revolved around the ripple effect of authenticity. By bravely showing up as our true selves, we inspire and empower others to do the same.
Key Takeaways for Embracing Audacious Authenticity
The podcast conversation about Audacious Authenticity left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of tuning in. It serves as a reminder that living authentically is a courageous choice that leads to a life of fulfillment, connection, and purpose. As we continue on our own journeys, may we draw inspiration from their stories and commit to embracing our audacious authenticity in every aspect of our lives.

When I received the email for this for GoSolo Publications interview a couple of months back, I asked them to please hold off on it since I was still re-imagining my entire business model.
I am so glad they accepted my request since THIS IS the moment where I am truly connected to everything that I share on this interview.
Although it seemed like a great opportunity to be featured at the time, I would have probably not been audaciously authentic, which is what I whole heartedly stand for.
The truth is, we have the power to choose when and how we deliver our message, and do it with grace, gratitude, love and authenticity.
I have a vision of awakening humanity and spreading happiness in the world while re-activating their creativity.
I am focused on inspiring others to worry less and live more. To connect with their creativity and their passions while inspiring others in the process and thus leaving a legacy. The moment is NOW.
Honored to have been featured on GoSolo publication on this interview that I hope makes you light up as much as I did when I was answering these questions.
Especially the ones where I had to answer what have been the hardest things that comes with being an entrepreneur and what have been my biggest accomplishments.
There is still so much to tell…but I am sure you’ll get to learn more about it in future opportunities.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this short but mighty piece.
Loved sharing my mission, vision, my journey and everything that is wrapped around this soul business of mine.

]]>So here comes a piece of my story for those of you who are struggling to break a pattern or don’t seem to find it possible to free yourselves from toxic relationships.
When I was younger, I went through several romantic relationships. I had the loving kind, the male chauvinist type, and the one who I allowed to verbally abuse me (once we had broken up – but I still allowed it).
Through the years I realized that I didn’t value myself enough and I allowed these situations and toxic people into my life. I don’t blame any of them, in fact, I thank them for teaching me the importance of loving and prioritizing myself above all. Not in an egotistical way, but in a self care, healthy way.
Many times, during those “foggy” years, I became sad and even lost hope on finding someone who would share my life journey in a loving, caring way.
It wasn’t until I literally decided to dedicate an entire year to myself… Yes… I declared on January 1st of 2015 that that was going to be MY YEAR… that things changed.
I worked on my personal development, my emotions, my career, my goals, my health, my relationship with myself, my self worth. I knew that by doing that, I was clearing up space for that special someone to come into my life.
2016 came and I knew I was ready… I declared that the year when I was going to meet the person who would share this journey with me. Three months later he came into my life and hasn’t left my side. We got engaged five months later, married a year later and are now celebrating our first year anniversary and a baby girl on the way.
I married the person who I specifically had asked God and the Universe to bring to my life. The loving kind, the family type, the adventurer, the supporter, the joker, the serious guy (when he has to), the hardworking guy, the traveler, the caregiver. The one who makes me laugh and supports all my craziness..
I manifested him but only when I KNEW that I was ready and then I didn’t force it, I didn’t look for it, I didn’t get desperate, I let things flow.. and here I am…eternally grateful for this wonderful gift.
Hopefully this will shed some light and hope to you or anyone who you know might be going through something similar.
Be willing to give up your “search” for your perfect match and allow yourself to find your true self. Who you are and how you value yourself will impact any relationship you have in life.
It is time to start valuing yourself for what you’re worth. Love and be compassionate with yourself. It is not narcissistic. It is SELF-LOVE!! Think about it…. if you don’t love yourself enough and you allow others to affect your self-esteem then you will become more vulnerable to hurtful situations and relationships.
You are your own judge. Don’t give others the power to underestimate you or make you feel inferior. Think of what makes you special; of everything that you have to offer to the world. We all have plenty to offer to those around us. Always remembering to first work on your self-love.
And most importantly always remember to LAF – love unconditionally, accept without judgements, and forgive yourself and others.
]]>“It definitely has not been a smooth road, but what is life without bumps in the road? I encountered feelings of loneliness, seeing myself away from my family, having to deal with the challenges of balancing a personal and professional life. All the learning curves of “growing up” and having to learn those lessons and subjects that are not taught in school (stress management, emotional intelligence, productivity, positive thinking).”

At one point I lost all interest in life and thought of taking my own life. That’s when I hit rock bottom and realized that life was meant to be lived, to be enjoyed… This led me to get more in-depth into the world of yoga, meditation, prayer, and coaching.”

]]>“The important thing is not to reach certain goals at certain ages, but to become the kind of person who commits to living an extraordinary life every day.” Lorraine C. Ladish author of the wonderful book “Tu Mejor Edad” (Your Best Age).
I had the pleasure of meeting Lorraine a few years ago at an event held in Miami, FL but it was not until March of this year, at the We All Grow Summit in California, that Lorraine and I really connected. It turns out that both, together with a group of wonderful women, had be chosen to go to the Red Bull headquarters where they have their gymnasium for high performance athletes.
Lorraine and I decided to join in the training challenge they had prepared for us. We laughed, we worked out hard, we laughed again, we got upside down, we danced, and we connected even more because of our love for Yoga and meditation.
For me it was an amazing learning experience. Lorraine is a confident woman, who faces challenges no matter how big they are, and always looks for a way to get ahead. For her, age does not matter, because every age is Your Best Age, this being the title of her recently published book by Harper Collins.
In her book, Lorraine makes us understand the importance of loving ourselves regardless of our age. She tells us many of her adventures and how she was able to get ahead. She impels us to fight for our dreams at any point in our lives in which we find ourselves.
As humans, especially as women, we tend to be very hard on ourselves. We criticize our appearance, any wrinkle, or change in our body. We forget to work on our inside and we focus more on what others say.
When working with young people, I see this all the time. Society dominates their lives, they neglect their inner selves, trying to focus on what others think or say about them.
I admire women like Lorraine, who dedicate their lives to inspire others regardless of their age. Through her book, you can not help but feel empowered, full of energy, hopeful, cheerful and full of life.
We must understand that we are in this world to serve ourselves and others and that it is necessary to have patience because, as Lorraine says “almost everything that is worth getting in life takes time and requires a sustained effort.”
We are warriors, regardless of our age, we are here, now as beings of light, to get ahead, fight for what we want, and achieve our goals, as long as we know how to prioritize what is really important in our lives, we focus on keeping ourselves healthy inside as well as outside, and we dance with our fears to use them as allies in our search for personal and professional success.
Thank you Lorraine for writing this wonderful book. I hope it reaches many women, regardless of their age, so that they understand that in reality they are always at their best age.
Until you read me next time always remember LAF: Love unconditionally, accept without judging and forgive yourself and others.
Have you ever met a tireless woman, with her feet on the ground, “echá pa’lante,” who does not stop until she gets what she wants and who is worthy of admiration and inspiration? I do, and I have the joy of calling her my friend.
I have learned so much from Carla that she does not even know how key she has been to my professional and personal development. Her and Roberto, her husband, have been supporters and propellers of my professional life on more than one occasion. Carla is Co-founder of Mundo Lanugo™, a socially responsible entertainment world that connects kids to the Hispanic culture and promotes the Spanish while building their identity and self-esteem.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Carla since we were kindergarteners back in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At one point our paths separated, but God and the Universe worked their magic for us to meet again. We have been friends, confidants, co-workers, and above all sisters for a long time.
Here I share this interview with a tireless woman worthy of admiration, Carla Curiel.
Well, I was in 4th grade when I started my first business. I bought pencils and erasers at a discount at my parents’ pharmacy and then re-sold them at school. I was doing very well until the school closed my business because apparently I could not run a business in school.
I would say that the most difficult thing for me has been to have patience. By nature and personality, I am someone who likes to get results fast. I can analyze a situation, set goals, set a tactical plan and start applying it very fast – and I have had to learn how to slow down the revolutions a little because not all the ‘companies’ we associate with work at that same pace.
Mundo Lanugo started very personal and became professional upon my realization that I was not alone. The second I became a mom, I had an urge to share with my twins our traditional songs, our games, and our story. I also wanted to pass along my Latino values and traditions, and provide my children with a sense of belonging and identity in their Hispanic Heritage. Needless to say, I also wanted to give them the gift of being bilingual and maintain their Spanish language. But when I went to the stores looking for tools to help me raise proud bilingual and bicultural children, I just could not find any products that resonated with me. The most I could find, were blank translations from English to Spanish but that was just not enough for me. I longed to see our spice, our culture, our uniqueness represented in media and consumer products.
Having graduated from Babson College, the #1 school in Entrepreneurship worldwide, I knew what the next step was to figure out if I was alone in this (the one crazy Latina mom) or if this was a real unmet need in the market. Seeing the staggering numbers from the research done and realizing the amount of friends, family and community moms struggling with the same issue, I came to the conclusion that it was an opportunity and my calling to develop those characters and that brand that I so desired for my kids, and that would serve as a bridge to help them grow a healthy identity with both cultures. And so like that, it became professional and MY business to ultimately create what I felt was needed: a Latino children’s lifestyle and entertainment brand of American appeal and Latin feel that promoted the Spanish language and our rich Latino culture.
My mission in life has changed by ‘stages’ but i’ve always had in me to always be committed to contribute to the world more than what I am taking in. Today, in particular, my mission is to empower our Latino children with a strong sense of identity and self-worth, through our culture and our values, because I really believe that children have to know where they come from, to have the confidence and conviction to go further.
It will sound very cliché, but my daughters inspire me. For them I got into this mess hahaha – this partially joking.
The greatest challenge of my life has been the odyssey that I spent with the pregnancy of my twin daughters. Although everything started very normal and natural, at 23 weeks I almost gave birth in a toilet because of an incompetent cervix !!! It was by coincidence in DR, and at that time we spent “el Niagara en bicicleta” … At the time of the crisis, I knew that humanly I could not do anything, so I put the situation in God’s hands. Yet I kept an incredibly positive mind at all times; in my head there was no doubt that they were going to be perfect. I do not know how yet, but I was able to make every ounce of my cells believe it too. Learn more of the story here.
Two things:
1) Stop preaching to the wrong choir and if you do and they don’t get it, aplica las “orejas de pescado”.
2) Stop trying to get validation from others. All you need is inside of you. Search within – not outside
More than a sentence, what I have is a routine of gratitude every morning so that I do not forget how blessed and in debt that I am with God. On certain days that I need a mantra I repeat this to myself “I can do this. This is what I’ve been for. I am strong. “
Two girls who do not let me rest lol. Just kidding, seriously speaking, knowing that what I’m fighting for is so much bigger than any obstacle or tiredness that I may feel. In reality, there are moments that happen to us all where we feel like ‘throwing’ the towel, but I have learned to rest instead of giving up.
It is a daily challenge since only I can make myself happy. That little phrase, I’m borrowing it from my wise husband.
Dear reader,
May you feel inspired by this interview with this rockstar latino entrepreneur and wonder woman! As Carla mentioned, happiness is a daily challenge, but always remember that YOU are the only one that can make the choice of being happy. Nobody else can make that decision for you.
So go out there, feel empowered, set your goals, and don’t stop until you reach them. Be resilient and feel inspired. Hopefully this interview with my dear Carla pushes you to move forward with your dreams.
Until you read me again remember to always LAF – love unconditionally, accept without judgements, and forgive yourselves and others.
