Frozen in Carbonite

You may have noticed that it’s a little quieter than usual here at The Bosch World HQ. After a long hiatus trekking through the Andes mountains and then sailing across the Pacific Ocean, I’ve returned back to NYC to find that without my expert guidance, The Bosch needed to go on hiatus. Currently, the band is frozen in carbonite. If it survives, it should be very well preserved.

In the meantime, I’ll be keeping you posted on the other assorted musical projects that The Boscheteers are creating and playing in.

Oh, and here’s a nice review of Hurry Up from Bill Holmes at Pop Culture Press/Under the Radar

Pigeonhole Bosch? Not when at any time you can scrape th DNA of Greg Cartwright and Link Wray guitar tones, Iggu’s sneer, Adam Ant’s marching beat, and the lo-fi punch (complete with dissonant horn support) of garage legends the Penetrators… Great stuff.

SidVision, The Bosch – Sportinâ€ 24 Inch Pythons

The Bosch is a quartet out of NYC. I ran across some blogs on these guys last year and made sure to add a mental bookmark for them. They have a raw energy that drives their music (Yes thatâ€s why they are sportinâ€ the 24 inch pythons). They released their last album â€˜Hurry Upâ€ mid 2007 and it is being accepted pretty well online.

This NYC-based rock band has enjoyed strong national airplay on college radio, which you can tell from their music. The Bosch sounds like a mix between early Killers and The Clash with its â€œ1776â€ and â€œPaperback.â€ This is a band that has the potential for success, but isnâ€t really at the stage where you can hear their uniqueness, even if itâ€s bubbling underneath the high-tempo songs. â€œHurry Upâ€ is an uplifting album, especially something to play at a wild college party or when you want to wake up your body and mind.
