As a Clinical Social Worker, Ms. Lewis has worked in the mental health field since 2007, obtaining experience in Juvenile Justice, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Home-Based Therapy Services, Group Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Inpatient Psychiatric Intake & Admissions, Acute Hospital Discharge Planning, Utilization Management, Clinical Resource Management, Medical Social Work and serves as a professional healthcare consultant for the largest non-profit healthcare system in the United States. Ms. Lewis’ therapeutic specialties include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Christian Based Counseling, Anger Management, and Grief Therapy. GLCS clients find that Ms. Lewis’ therapeutic approach provides them with a safe and inviting space where they can be transparent and freely express their most intimate thoughts, free of judgment or criticism. We love The Colab and the atmosphere it provides. The space keeps our creative juices flowing, and gives us the opportunity to put our noses to the grindstone and retreat into our offices when need be. Not only is the environment creative and fun, but so are the other business partners!

Tracy graduated from Wayne State University last May with a degree in public relations and communication studies. About me:
As far as my personal life goes, some hobbies of mine include baking, painting, and spending time with my dog (Luna). Last year, when I had first looking for an internship, I searched digital marketing agencies near me and Hunch Free was one of the first results to show up. After doing a bit more research I was certain I wanted to score an internship with them. Realizing the agency operated out of a collaborative workspace was the icing on top of the cake. Not only do I get to work in a perfect environment but I also get to meet new people everyday.

I’m Adrian and I am a brand and headshot photographer. Being born and raised in Mt. Clemens choosing THE coLAB was an easy choice. Through the corona pandemic I told myself that as soon as I get a chance I’m going all out on chasing my goals. I then saw a post on Facebook about THE coLAB and a possible photography space. I set up a tour and from there I knew I wanted to be a part of THE coLABorative family. From the very affordable pricing to the community of motivated individuals that I have had the opportunity to network with my experience here has been very satisfying and I can’t wait to see our community grow in the future.

I am owner of Empowerment Branding & Headshots. Specializing in corporate photography I help corporate professionals and entrepreneurs feel comfortable and look good on camera. I have a special passion for documentary filmmaking and want to create documentaries to inform and empower the youth. I enjoy quiet nights over social events. Most of my free time is spent perfecting my craft and reading books on entrepreneurship. When I’m not working on my craft I enjoy watching boxing and college football.

THE coLABorative offers a great environment to work in. I have been able to network and expand some of our operations with contacts I met here. This is invaluable to a small non-profit like us. The cheerful people and interesting spaces make coming to work fun, I love it here. I think it was a great move for myself and our company.

Ericia Bartels has been the Chief Operating Officer at Macomb County Habitat for Humanity since 2018. Her previous work experiences have included Compuware, Caribou, College for Creative studies and Google. Additionally, she is a sommelier, metalsmith, restauranteur and milliner. There has never been a challenge from which Ericia has not learned. In general, building successful teams, teaching others to expand their skills, and bringing their best to the table is what she has loved about all of her jobs. Ericia thinks outside the typical box and once she embraced this she truly started to excel. The executive position at Habitat has truly given her the opportunity to shine, because she has been able to bring every skillset into focus. The fast-paced environment at Habitat perfectly suits her. One minute she is out in the field showcasing the merchandise in the stores with her team, and the next she is working to develop new programs to expand capacity with her construction staff. Ericia has an MFA from Wayne State and a BA in Metals from The College for Creative Studies. She lives in Farmington Hills with her teenage son and daughter and her beloved dog, Lola.

As a father of 2 kids that had to attend school virtually for a while, working from home was tough. I was barely getting any fresh air, privacy was always an issue, and it felt like the house just wasn’t big enough. THE coLAB allowed me to focus on my work and was even a great place for my kids to get their school work done as well. The fresh Starbucks coffee always helps to start my morning off right, and even though I love interacting with my kids, it’s nice being able to have conversations with other adults in the building. I love the environment at THE coLAB because everyone gives off such a good vibe that it helps with my productivity.

About me:
I am a data analyst at Hunch Free. I met Jimmy at a Tech Startup Accelerator called DTX Launch Detroit, and from there he took me on to specialize in SEO(Search Engine Optimization). I constantly stay active by working out and playing basketball. I also build computers for fun.

She is an award-winning administrator having secured prestigious recognition such as 2019 Macomb County Hall of Fame Award: Macomb County Foundation, Athena Award Nominee, Macomb County Chamber, May 1, 2015; Leadership Award, L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County Executive, Nominated by Comerica, April 2005; Leadership Award, Best Non-Profit, Leadership Oakland, April 2004; Best-Managed Non-Profit Award, Crain’s Detroit Business, 2001; Executive Woman of the Year Award, Grant Thornton and Crain’s Detroit Business; Michiganian of the Year Award, The Detroit News, 2001; National Hunger’s Hope Award in Development, America’s Second Harvest, 2000; Jeanne Vogt Leadership Award, Accounting Aid Society, 2000; and Agency of the Year Award, Open Door Human Services, 1999.

Helen has held top-tiered positions at non-profit organizations such as The Food Bank of Oakland County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, and the Michigan AIDS Coalition.

Helen has served on the boards of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, the American House Foundation, the Sojourner Foundation, and the Down Syndrome Guild of Southeastern Michigan. In 2015, Mrs. Hicks received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Marygrove College where she earned both her Master and Bachelor’s degrees.

Helen and her husband, Darryl, live in Port Huron. They have ten children, four of whom are adopted. She is the proud grandmother of six girls and two boys.

Why the communal membership works for me:

When I joined THE coLABorative five years ago, I had just moved into a role working remotely. As a husband and dad of three, we have an active home and I was looking for a place nearby that would allow me to focus on work and not be a distraction to my family. The communal membership was the perfect solution! Since then, I’ve grown to appreciate not just the physical space to work, but also the friends I’ve made and the energy boost I get from working alongside and networking with the diverse group of members at THE coLAB. As the marketing lead for our supply chain and procurement businesses at Genpact I am responsible for developing and executing multi-channel marketing programs to increase awareness and drive demand for our services in these areas globally.

Fun Fact:
I enjoy working with my hands and restoring older homes in my free-time. In 2017, my wife and I purchased a historical home in Mt. Clemens. We then spent the next 10 months renovating it; choosing to do most of the work ourselves with the help of close family and friends. We’re now just getting started on our next project, helping a family member restore their recently purchased home!

Why the communal membership works for me

As a wife and mom of 2, the pandemic gave us a lot of time together. All 4 of us were working under one roof. I feel grateful for that time, but as the months went by our family needed to shake things up a bit. Joining THE coLABorative has been helpful to allow me to focus on work and my husband to focus on the virtual education of our 2 kiddos. At THE coLABorative, I love getting my second cup of coffee and diving into my work activities. I appreciate the ability to reserve conference rooms for virtual meetings on confidential topics. It has also been great to network with others in the building. It feels good to get up, take a short drive to THE coLAB where I have focused time to think about my work goals for the day, work hard, drive home where I shift my focus to my family, and enjoy an evening with them sharing what we did that day.

I am the Chief of Staff for the president of General Motors. His leadership spans globally across Product Development; Quality; Portfolio Planning; Vehicle Sales, Service & Marketing; Creative Design; and Research & Development. As the CoS, I lead strategic projects, facilitate cross functional meetings, and lead and plan all events sponsored by my leader. I also engage in a few side hustle activities focused on attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent. I have a passion for helping women achieve their personal and professional goals. That hunger is fed by working with the Michigan State University Recruiting team, the Society of Women Engineers organization, and our employee resource groups.

Fun Fact:
I love taking trips with my family to visit my extended family in the Upper Peninsula. Every summer we pack the car drive 8+ hours and enjoy my dad’s camp (Yooper term for cottage) on Lake Ruth in Michigammie, Michigan. Some of my best memories as a child were made there and I love creating new memories with my husband and kids
