What to bring
Meeting Point : Go to Lake Powell Resort and park in any of the single-car lots near the top of the launch ramp. Do not park at the Wahweap Marina. The boat departs from the Wahweap Public Dock directly below the Wahweap Public Launch Ramp. You will see two floating docks on the water. Meet your captain on the left dock. If you are walking toward the large houseboats to the right, you are walking in the wrong direction. It’s a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the left dock which is your check-in location.

Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon. The trail-head to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. If you are in the area you owe it to yourself to stop and take a look.
This is a quick experience. Just park your car in the lot, hike over a hill and head to the sight. It’s beautiful. But… be careful! There is no fence, ledge or guard at the edge.

Primitive camping permitted on a sandy beach or in dunes. No designated campsites. Open fires must be within a four-foot-square area. Quiet time 10 pm-6 am. Four micro-flush toilets, 6 vault toilets and 1 wheelchair accessible comfort station. Outdoor cold shower. Off-road vehicle area. Dump station. Potable water (seasonal). Day use area. No launch ramp. No reservations. $14 per vehicle per night. Camping fee does not include entrance fee, and entrance fee does not include camping.
This is one of the Premiere white sand beaches on Lake Powell. With easy access from the Highway it is often at full capacity during peak summer months.
