He has a varied experience, ranging from designing for multi-nationals like General Motors and lecturing on corporate architecture at the American University of Beirut, to advising various governments and agencies on environment and writing on sustainable development and technology. He is a 2003 laureate of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Global 500 Award for environmental achievement, and in 2011 was awarded Zayed International Prize for the Environment. In 2014 he received the distinguished Alumni Award from the American University of Beirut. Saab has ten books to his credit, including Nature Book which received in 2002 the Book of the Year Award from the Beirut Arab Book Fair. He is editor, with Mostafa Tolba and Mohamed El-Ashry, of the annual reports on the State of the Arab Environment published by AFED. His monthly editorial is simultaneously published by 10 leading newspapers across the Arab region, and is the only regular syndicated commentary in Arabic on environment issues. Najib Saab graduated in Architecture from the American University of Beirut, where he also studied mass communications and political science.

The scope of work and projects undertaken by Ms Sedaoui are fully focused on the Arab region.
Ms. Sedaoui has an extensive experience in research, energy policy advice, energy modeling, water-energy-food nexus, sustainable energy, climate change mitigation policies and technologies, petroleum economics, oil and gas fiscal regimes and energy market developments.
Ms. Radia previously served as Head Statistics and Gas Modeling Department at the Intergovernmental Organization of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Qatar, from 2010-2014.
Before that, Ms. Radia held several senior positions in Algeria with “Sonatrach” as Director of Strategy and Corporate, Head Portfolio management, Senior Strategy Advisor, and as member of the Board of Directors of three affiliates of Sonatrach in Upstream, Midstream and Trading.

He joined UN-ESCWA after over twenty years of experience, as a Senior Expert and Professional Engineer, in the fields of sustainable energy and mechanical engineering design.
He was involved in the development of many EE & RE policies and programs for Tunisia and conducted the design and commissioning of building HVAC & mechanical systems for several dozens of building construction and retrofit projects.
He held the following positions: Head of CEESEN consulting firm (1996-2011), Chief of Mechanical Systems Engineering Section in a large Consultancy firm (1992-95), Project Director / adviser for the VITA-USAID Djibouti Energy Initiatives Project (1989-91), Senior Energy Analyst with W.S. She is based in Jordan and deals with climate change and the water-energy-food nexus in the Middle East and North Africa.

Prior to coming to Jordan, Tessa worked on international energy policy and renewable energy as part of the Sustainability Department of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague for five years. Tessa served as a diplomat in Cairo for five years, worked in Afghanistan for an American refugee organization and in Ethiopia and India as a researcher.

Trained as a social scientist, Tessa has worked on human security and resilience throughout her career. Over the coming years she will focus on regional cooperation towards sustainable governance over natural resources, in light of ever growing scarcity due to climate change. More specifically, she is focusing on unlocking climate finance for the Arab region.

He joint the EU Delegation in JORDAN in August 2004 as Programme Manager for Environment, then took over the energy portfolio by 2006 and climate change by 2010, and currently managing the energy portfolio with more than 160 million Euro support for green Energy.

Mr. Omar worked as Quality Assurance Executive at Danish food Industries Company 1996-1998, and assisted the company to be certified for ISO 9002.  He worked as Assistant Head of Nature Reserves at the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature RSCN 1999-2000 then worked as Head of Nature Reserves RSCN 2000-July 2004 and managed 6 Nature Reserves in Jordan including environmental, social and economic development, developed projects within these reserves, as well as prepared to establish new nature reserves in Jordan.

Holds a bachelor of science in agriculture engineering/ Jordan University / 1996.

She has served as a Human Settlements Officer, First Economic Affairs Officer on water resources, and Chief of the Technical Cooperation Section in UN-ESCWA. She holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Syracuse University and previously worked with Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (London). She has publications on green economy and integrated management of water resources, housing development and sustainable cities. She has lectured on these topics in scientific, regional and international forums.

Geographically this work is focused on Saudi Arabia and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It also seeks to draw on insights from international experience to build connections and improve sustainability outcomes for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. He has received several prizes for his academic work. He has a D.Phil. in economic geography from the University of Oxford and has a Bachelor of Economics with honors from the University of Adelaide, South Australia.

Since five years, the project supports the policy dialogue between the German government and the decision makers in MENA countries to develop pathways towards low carbon economies. Ms. Richter supports this dialogue with her expertise on policies and strategies for the energy transition and her experience in international knowledge exchange.

Before working in the MENA region she worked in a program on rural electrification in Afghanistan and advised provincial governments on energy planning. She further coordinated EU financed research and cooperation projects with partners from Eastern Europe and North Africa on solar energy and support mechanisms for renewable energy.
