Anita — Mon, 28 Jun 2021 02:46:02 +0000

“So Interesting!” is what I would like to title this episode of Two Authors talk. I had the privilege of talking with Samuel Moore-Sobel from North Virginia, author of Can You See My Scars? Samuel and I connected on so many levels and deep dove into the fascinating topics of masculine stereotypes, sulfuric acid burns, …

Do Women Need to Join A Tribe?

Anita — Sat, 05 Sep 2020 08:00:36 +0000

Female tribalism, it is not a well-used phrase, but it is something that affects all women… for good or for bad. It is natural for us to seek friendship, acceptance, and inclusion, but if we are unable to find it, a huge void may appear in our lives. My deep-seated feeling is other women will …

Should We Use Power to Dominate Others?

Anita — Mon, 25 May 2020 00:48:53 +0000

Tim and I disagree on a lot of subjects. Especially ones to do with human nature. I said to my husband, “That’s how I felt when the pandemic hit just after we had our ALDI win“. The virus has completely sabotaged our amazing work in our fight against wasteful …

I Am Beautiful Because I Am Me

I have two teenage daughters. I try to see the world through their eyes, and it has made me a bit cranky. I now notice the big photo displays in the windows of fashion and swimwear stores, presenting women who have stick legs and almost concave stomachs. I am hyper-aware of the flood of social media images …

Our Country Is on Fire and People Are Still Bagging Their Bananas

Anita — Sun, 22 Dec 2019 08:24:09 +0000

As I write this, the sky is blood red and smoke smothers our country like a disease infested woolen blanket. Wow, the world is on fire! What will it take to wake us up and question our behaviour? Shouldn’t we all be asking, Does the way I live help or harm the environment I rely …

Anita — Sun, 07 Jul 2019 04:54:56 +0000

Dear ALDI, Thank you for inviting me to your ‘Building Sustainable Partnerships: ALDI, Good Different’ event… ~~~ I’m atop a very long escalator in the lobby of a fancy hotel in the city of Sydney. I slowly descend into the ornate dungeon below. Well, it is called The Ballroom, but from where I stand, it …

My trip to Costco was a front row seat to the ongoing Plastic Apocalypse. What I saw there 👇🏼 The Big Stores Are Trying to Force Plastic On You The plastic industry, in partnership with the big stores, is dedicated to flooding the world with single-use plastic. The situation seems bleak, however I believe your …
