Although Benny has strong ties to Washington Heights, located in the northern part of Manhattan, Benny was actually born and raised in the Bronx until the age of 9.
Benny was actually a foster child. His parents, like so many other parents in inner cities, fell victim to the crack epidemics that hit New York in the 80’s. He and his younger brother, Kris, went to live his is great aunt in Washington Heights.
Benny is the oldest of 12 children on his mother side and the second to oldest of 3 others from his father. As a child Benny often dreamed about buying a mansion were all his brothers and sister could live under one roof.
Although as a child Benny was illiterate, by the time he reached junior high school, he had a short writing of his, which discussed the untimely death of Princess Diana, published in a literature book while attending school in Washington Heights.
Benny is an introvert. Don’t hold your breath if you want to see Benny flamboyantly bragging about his possessions or accomplishments. Although his music speaks volumes about his analytically character and can be some what in your face, Benny is very reserved.
As a teenager Benny use to write versus each night until he feel asleep. Inspired by a local rap group Team Hot and his favorite artist Jadakiss Benny gained a passion for word play and story telling.
Benny Joined the Military after high school and served overseas and in the United States. In fact, while in Germany, he met a DJ by the name of DJ Sherry who pioneered hiphop in Germany. DJ Sherry promoted Heightz which helped him perform at the hottest clubs in Europe before returning home
Benny is currently working on a song featuring Rick Ross. The re-release date is yet to be determined.

Heightz is more than a name. It’s a movement that advocates unity and inspires inner city families, not only to dream, but to dig deep within themselves to overcome obstacles and barriers. It’s about those of us lucky enough to make it out giving back, even if it’s not much, and taking care of our community as a community.
