Link by André Breton, trans. from French by Austin Carder

Jared Daniel Fagen — Mon, 15 Sep 2025 11:49:30 +0000

Surrealism in painting began with the conviction that the emergence of entirely new factors in psychic life (due to psychoanalysis, Gestalt theory, relativism) and the advancement of certain modern techniques (photography, film) rendered obsolete the ambition to reproduce what is seen...

Four Poems by Jayne Cortez

Jared Daniel Fagen — Mon, 04 Aug 2025 13:34:50 +0000

Now I dig up patinas / I chew on slit logs / I polish surfaces of cyclones / I mount bullet wounds to inspect mutilations / I uproot the spirit of / the chemicals that make me / violate myself / I count limited resources / I view sinkholes in / the atmosphere / I lubricate the batás / & provoke in all keys of / flesh & hallucinogenic gongs...

Introducing Aunonomic Reasoning by Will Alexander, forthcoming September 16, 2025

Jared Daniel Fagen — Mon, 14 Jul 2025 13:11:34 +0000

Preorders for Will Alexander’s Aunonomic Reasoning are now available. Precipitous philosophies. Synaptic-nerve narrations. Syntactic spirals. Hyper-coiled horizons. Will Alexander’s mental range has arrived. An anomalous scripting of the word “automatic,” Aunonomic Reasoning is a whirlwind of lingual torrents...

Jared Daniel Fagen — Tue, 01 Jul 2025 13:11:25 +0000

when the moon wears the sky’s blue / nothing would be purposefully / brought to excess; each rational, / unsure what to do next / except reappear from this life-filled place, / keep broken good news about you /

Two Poems by Jane Lewty

Jared Daniel Fagen — Mon, 09 Jun 2025 13:06:34 +0000

un-sun-kissed, unkissed, / I mean idle and torrid / a not-beach babe / in windowless rooms / around which satellites / catch & spasm, / amplify & detect / something prevents me / from co-creating these / enjoy-ful duties of / worship (of which / the longing that passed / & passes needless, / is quick – like glass...

Two Poems by Francesca Kritikos

Jared Daniel Fagen — Mon, 09 Jun 2025 13:06:22 +0000

The season of lilacs is monstrous / if monstrosity can be defined / as proportional to beauty / and inversely proportional / to the time / in which that beauty survives / I feel as though I’ve lost everything / though I am aware that I lack for nothing / I play my body like a song / we’ve all heard before...

Four Poems by Augusto Lunel, trans. from Spanish by Michael Martin Shea

Jared Daniel Fagen — Tue, 27 May 2025 13:56:36 +0000

The ocean is a boy nursed by whales, / the sky a great eyeball from which rain falls; / the light a sound that crumples in the sand, / powdered sailing ship / from which a dawn departs with every wave. / The breeze is a bird wrapped in a handkerchief...

Four Prose Poems from The Vitals by Marie de Quatrebarbes, trans. from French by Aiden Farrell

Jared Daniel Fagen — Thu, 08 May 2025 13:34:46 +0000

We saw the rats and now we’re on a first-name basis. Both the head and beard have an air of red on a background of air. Someone gets up, fists on the table, and that’s that, in itself. The poem in shorthand jotted quickly, with tenderness...
