It’s National One-Hit Wonder Day, and I have to admit: calling somebody a “one-hit wonder” has always sounded a little shady to me. Because how are we going to put “one” and “hit” together like having ONE massive record isn’t an accomplishment? Do you know how many artists spend their entire careers trying to get just ONE? And in hip-hop and R&B, some of those so-called one-hit wonders have records that lasted longer than entire careers. September 25 is actually dedicated to celebrating exactly those songs. 

A perfect example is Sunshine Anderson’s “Heard It All Before.” That song dropped in 2001, hit the Top 10 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart and gave us an opening line that can still make a whole room start singing.  Then there’s Blu Cantrell’s “Hit ’Em Up Style (Oops!),” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.  And if you really want to activate my early-2000s memories, give me Houston featuring Chingy, Nate Dogg and I-20’s “I Like That.” The record peaked at No. 11 on the Hot 100 and became Houston’s biggest hit. 

Then we get to the hip-hop records. Terror Squad’s “Lean Back” was absolutely unavoidable in 2004. The song spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, and you STILL don’t have to know the choreography because the whole point was that we weren’t dancing anyway!  Audio Two’s “Top Billin’” is another interesting example because commercial chart success doesn’t begin to explain its impact. That record became foundational hip-hop and has been referenced and sampled long after its release.  And then you have records like “Move Ya Body” by Nina Sky featuring Jabba, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 and can still turn a party upside down the second that beat drops. 

That’s why I think “one-hit wonder” needs an asterisk when we’re talking about Black music. Sometimes the charts say an artist had one major crossover hit, while the culture remembers something completely different. A song can be sampled, played at cookouts, live in DJ sets for 20 years and influence artists who weren’t even born when it came out. That’s bigger than a chart position.

So for National One-Hit Wonder Day, I’m not laughing at anybody who “only” had one. I’m giving them their flowers. Because if 20 or 30 years later the DJ can drop your ONE record in Houston and everybody in the building knows exactly what to do, you did your job. In the early hours of Thursday morning (Sept. 24), a federal judge ruled that President Donald Trump must restore press access to media outlets he attempted to ban from the White House last week. It comes after the networks sued the administration, citing their First Amendment rights.

The ruling was made by District Court Judge Timothy Kelly. Kelly’s decision granted a temporary 14-day stay on the ban in response to a lawsuit filed against Trump by media networks CNN, Politico, and MSNOW. 

The networks were banned from gaining access to the White House last Friday (Sept. 18), with reporters having their credentials taken away by Trump administration staffers. The judge ordered the White House “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” those credentials to the reporters.

Trump banned the networks as punishment for what he deemed was negative coverage of his administration. Lawyers from the Department of Justice (DOJ) told the court that they sent letters to the aggrieved outlets detailing their reasons for the ban last Friday, but the networks testified that they didn’t receive those letters until Tuesday. 

DOJ lawyers argued that the ban was in the interest of protecting national security. Judge Kelly wasn’t buying it, writing that “nothing in the record that predates this suit suggests that the revocation of Plaintiffs’ hard passes was motivated by national security concerns. Certainly, that is not what President Trump said when he announced that he was ‘banning’ Plaintiffs from the White House—instead, he focused on the alleged lack of truthfulness and negativity of Plaintiffs’ reporting.”

Kelly, a Trump appointee, has presided over another case involving Trump and the media. He ruled in favor of restoring former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta’s press credentials during Trump’s first term in 2018 after a hearing. The administration would drop the issue shortly afterward.

The court also heard from a group of 49 media organizations and outlets urging the end to the media ban. The group included the White House Correspondents’ Association, Associated Press, Reuters, NPR, the National Press Club, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox News and the Dow Jones Co.

Weeks after 50 Cent caught backlash for performing at Donald Trump Jr.’s elites exclusive Executive Branch club for what we assume was a hefty bag, the Queens rapper showed it isn’t always about the money and took his show on the road to bless Indiana Pacers star point guard, Tyrese Haliburton, with a private performance as well – for free.

In a recent interview with Speedy Morman, the two-time NBA All-Star revealed that he had a hard time booking a performer for his wedding this past August when he tied the knot with Jade Jones. After finding out the rates for some of today’s big-name artists (one unnamed rapper wanted $750,000 for the night), Tyrese was hesitant about pulling the trigger. Even with an annual salary of $48 million, the prices today’s artists were charging seemed pretty steep to the NBA star.

“I was shocked. I was like, ‘That’s not happening. There’s no chance,'” he said. Luckily for him, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was willing to perform at his wedding for an astounding Free 99. A grateful Haliburton said that after 50 said he’d perform for free, he “took care of his accommodations and everything. His love is just, like, that’s family. So forever I got his back forever for that.”

Looks like 50 Cent’s Sire Spirits company signing a multi-year deal with the Indiana Pacers really came in clutch for Tyrese Haliburton.

The league fined Juszczyk $14,926 for what it called an “offensive demonstration” after he appeared to imitate chugging a beer during the 49ers’ win over the Miami Dolphins. The celebration came with just under eight minutes left in the third quarter.

Juszczyk, better known as “Juice,” says the gesture is actually him drinking his “juice” — and he points out that he doesn’t even drink beer. He’s never been fined for the celebration before, and he has already appealed the penalty.

On social media Thursday morning, Juszczyk responded to the news with a simple message: “Can’t make this stuff up…”

He’s not the only player being penalized for the celebration. Colts guard Matt Goncalves was fined $8,847 after appearing to chug a beer following a touchdown against Kansas City.

And Bengals stars Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are also facing fines over a celebration they introduced this season. The pair use a motion inspired by “The People’s Elbow,” made famous by WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Chase says players should be allowed to have more fun with their celebrations, and he’d like to appeal his fine. He also encouraged NFL stars to work with the players’ union to challenge the league’s rules.

Bear Bachmeier has already given college football fans plenty to talk about with his play at BYU. Now, though, the Cougars quarterback is going viral for something that has absolutely nothing to do with what happens between the sidelines. A seemingly throwaway comment during a recent FOX broadcast has sparked questions about whether Bachmeier and his family really sit down for dinner together completely naked.

The conversation dates back to BYU’s September 12 win over Arizona. During the broadcast, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III related something Bachmeier apparently told the FOX crew while they were preparing for the game. According to Griffin, Bachmeier said that when his family gets together for dinner, “sometimes they just take their clothes off.” The comment resurfaced on social media days later and, unsurprisingly, took on a life of its own.

There is an important piece of context here: Bachmeier himself has not publicly explained exactly what Griffin meant. BYU entered a bye week following its September 19 win over Colorado State, meaning reporters haven’t had the usual postgame opportunity to ask him about the story. Griffin also hadn’t offered additional clarification as of September 24, so the internet is currently working with one secondhand anecdote from a television broadcast rather than Bachmeier confirming, denying or explaining a regular “naked dinner” tradition.

Long before that story started trending, Bachmeier was building a name as one of the more intriguing young quarterbacks in college football. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound sophomore is from Murrieta, California, where he starred at Murrieta Valley High School. A four-star recruit, he finished his high school career with 6,810 passing yards and 59 touchdowns while adding 1,724 rushing yards and another 33 scores. He was also a multi-sport athlete, earning varsity letters in baseball and basketball in addition to football.

Bachmeier originally enrolled at Stanford and participated in the program’s spring practices in 2025 before transferring to BYU without ever playing a regular season game for the Cardinal. Once he landed in Provo, the freshman quickly took over the offense. He became BYU’s first true freshman quarterback to start a season opener and ultimately started all 14 games, throwing for 3,033 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 527 yards and 11 more scores. BYU went 12-2, and Bachmeier was named the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year.

Football also runs deep in the Bachmeier family. His older brother Hank played quarterback at Boise State, Louisiana Tech and Wake Forest, while another brother, Tiger, began his college career at Stanford before eventually transferring to BYU. Bear is one of five children born to April and Michael Bachmeier, alongside brothers Hank, Tiger and Buck and sister Ella, who competed in track at the University of Redlands. Bear also plays guitar, according to his official BYU bio.

His sophomore season has only added to the expectations surrounding him. Through BYU’s first three games, Bachmeier has thrown for 642 yards while helping the Cougars start 3-0. Against Arizona, he accounted for all four of BYU’s touchdowns — three passing and one rushing — and was subsequently named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and selected to the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8. He entered the season on watch lists for several major quarterback and national player awards and was also voted one of BYU’s offensive captains.

So yes, the “naked dinner” headline is easily the strangest reason Bachmeier has found himself trending. But it has also introduced a much larger audience to a quarterback who was already emerging as one of the faces of BYU football. Until Bachmeier or Griffin provides more context, exactly what happens around the Bachmeier family dinner table remains more viral mystery than established fact. What is much easier to confirm is that Bachmeier’s football résumé is quickly becoming substantial enough that this probably won’t be the last time his name ends up in the national conversation.

Former NFL receiver Antonio Brown will accept a plea deal in which he will plead guilty to a lesser charge and avoid prison time. 

According to NBC Sports, Brown is set to plead no contest to aggravated assault on Sept. 30. Brown will be sentenced to probation and avoid adjudication which also prevents Brown from being regarded as a convicted felon.

Brown was facing up to 30 years in prison for an incident after a celebrity boxing match in May 2025, in which Brown was attacked by several men and, during the melee, the former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout grabbed a security guard’s gun and fired two shots.  

Right after the incident, Brown then fled the country. He was captured and returned to the U.S. to face charges. 

“This was not an easy decision,” attorney Mark Eiglarsh said in a statement issued to NBC Sports. 

“Antonio believes in his innocence. He believes strongly in his Stand Your Ground defense, and he believes he would ultimately prevail at trial. But when prosecutors put an offer on the table that transforms a potential decades-long prison sentence into a significantly reduced charge and probation, there was simply no way he could reasonably turn it down.”

Brown is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2027 and while off-field issues aren’t supposed to be taken into consideration, it’s almost impossible to ignore Brown’s several off the field antics. In fact his NFL retirement came during what would be his last game in the NFL on  Jan. 2, 2022 in which Brown removed his jersey and walked off the field after being told to get back in the game. Brown claims that he was suffering from an ankle injury that prohibited his play. 

“A 12-year veteran, Brown earned first-team All-Pro status in four straight seasons. He qualified for the Pro Bowl seven times. Brown finished his career with 928 catches for 12,291 yards and 83 touchdowns. That puts him at 28th, 28th, and (with Travis Kelce’s next touchdown catch) 28th on the all-time list,” NBC Sports reports.

When talk turned to advice for young artists, both men got serious. Fiend compared great music to grandma’s cooking versus fast food. “There’s nothing wrong with taking your time and preparing what you feel internally is great work because it could last 30 years,” he said.

Mr. Serv-On pushed financial literacy hard, reminding artists that knowledge is power. “It don’t make you look less gangster to learn about this business and learn who you are,” he said. His biggest lesson? “Learn to do collaboration over competition. You’re gonna go further.”

The pair also weighed in on streaming versus the CD era. Mr. Serv-On kept it colorful: “Streaming is like somebody knock on the door, open the door, and they slap you and take your coffee.” Back when they moved 50,000 to 75,000 units independently, an artist could buy a house and live comfortably.

Maryland basketball fans will have another reason to keep an eye on New Orleans this season.

Former Maryland Terrapins forward Julian Reese has signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.

The move fills New Orleans’ final two-way roster spot, joining Jaron Pierre Jr. and Malik Dia. The Pelicans now have a full 21-man offseason roster with 15 players on standard contracts, three two-way players and three players on non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 deals.

Reese spent four seasons at the University of Maryland before going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. During his senior season in College Park, he shared the floor with current Pelicans big man Derik Queen.

The 23-year-old spent much of last season in the G League with Raptors 905 before earning a two-way deal with the Washington Wizards in February.

And when Washington gave him an opportunity, Reese made the most of it.

He averaged 11.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals while appearing in 13 games, including 10 starts. Across 41 G League appearances with affiliates for Toronto and Washington, Reese averaged 8.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and one block in just over 18 minutes per game.

Reese, the brother of WNBA star Angel Reese, was later traded from Washington to Denver as part of the five-team Peyton Watson deal in August. The Nuggets waived him about a week later, sending him back into free agency.

Now, the former Terp gets another NBA opportunity in New Orleans.

In 2022, Quavo and the late Takeoff solidified their familial and musical bond with the collaborative project, Only Built For Infinity Links. Quavo and Takeoff’s “HOTEL LOBBY (Unc & Phew) performance was another in a list of standouts, and now it has been flipped via AI to feature celebrities and others. One such flip saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Willem Dafoe’s Goblin in a scene.

The influencer and the rapper have reportedly tied the knot, per The Shade Room. While it’s not exactly clear when the pair made their relationship official, the story of their wedding was published on Wednesday, Sept. 23. According to the outlet, the Memphis rapper married Ari in a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony.

Fletcher took to Instagram on Wednesday to let her fans in on the love, sharing a carousel of photos celebrating her and Moneybagg’s love. One photo features Ari and Moneybagg sharing a sweet kiss while both wearing all-white, which seems to be at their wedding. In another picture, the happy couple is flashing their wedding rings, which are blindingly blinged-out.

Despite fans’ assumptions that the couple tied the knot, Ari didn’t confirm anything in her post, which also included other sweet pictures from throughout their relationship. In her caption, she attributed the post to Moneybagg’s birthday, writing: “In every lifetime, I’d find you. Happy birthday my love ”

On Moneybagg’s Instagram page, he shared his own birthday post, uploading photos of himself celebrating his 35th birthday with Ari in Las Vegas. Per the rapper’s post, it seems like the couple’s wedding happened either before or on the rapper’s birthday celebration on September 22.

Moneybagg Yo and Ari Fletcher have been in an on-and-off relationship since late 2019. The rapper first noticed Ari while she was shopping and connected with her through mutual friends. They began dating around October 2019 and went public with their relationship in January 2020.

The couple’s on-again, off-again nature has been fueled by the rapper’s infidelity. They briefly broke up due in 2021 due to Moneybagg Yo’s indiscretions, which he later owned up to in interviews. The two eventually reconciled, which became a theme in their relationship.

While Ari has previously claimed that her and Moneybagg have been secretly married since 2021, the news of their marriage has not been confirmed until now.

It’s been a tough few years for Gregg Popovich since his wife died in 2018 after 40 years of marriage and his stroke in 2024, which forced him to step away from his longtime San Antonio Spurs coaching job.

But in a recent turn of events, as a cornerstone of the franchise, he watched a young Victor Wembanyama lead the Spurs to the NBA Finals, and now it’s been revealed that he’s married. 

TMZ confirmed that he’s adding another ring to his already five he earned with the Spurs. 

His new wife’s name is Mary Barth Budenholzer, and if that name sounds familiar to any NBA fan, it should, because she’s the ex-wife of Mike Budenholzer.

Mike most recently coached the Phoenix Suns for the 2024-25 season, won a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks before that, and coached the Atlanta Hawks just prior.

But he’s not just in the NBA coaching orbit alongside Pop; he also came up under Pop as a Spurs assistant coach, helping him win four championships. Some are claiming Pop broke bro code by getting with a former co-worker’s wife, but Coach Bud and Mary haven’t been married in over a decade, having quietly divorced in 2016. They do share four kids: William Vincent, Savoia Elizabeth, Hanna Louise, and John Bent.

As low-key as Pop typically is, all we know about the newlyweds is that they tied the knot on Sept. 16 in Texas, according to the marriage license filed in Bexar County, Texas, which TMZ obtained.

They were also spotted together at a few Spurs games last season, where Pop still plays a huge role as the team’s president of basketball operations.

After his minor stroke, he announced the pivot with excitement.

Todd Tucker is getting candid about the complicated aftermath of his Kandi Burruss divorce, admitting things got “dark” and “lonely” while revealing there’s one part of his former family life he’s relieved to leave in the past. “I was trying to prove myself to somebody who didn’t like me,” said the Til Divorce Do Us, Part creator.

“It was a lot of time in my head, thinking, trying to figure out, ‘What did I just do? What just happened? Did I lose my family?’ So I’m gonna be honest, I had nobody really to lean on.”

For years, Antonio Brown’s life away from football has generated almost as many headlines as his Hall of Fame-caliber run on the field. Now, the former Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star appears to have reached a significant resolution in one of his most serious legal situations yet. Brown is expected in a Miami-Dade courtroom on September 30 to accept a plea agreement that his attorney says will reduce his second-degree attempted murder charge and allow him to avoid prison in favor of probation.

The case stems from a May 2025 altercation outside an Adin Ross boxing event in Miami. Prosecutors alleged Brown took a gun from a security guard and chased Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu after the two fought, while Brown has maintained that he was defending himself. An arrest warrant was issued the following month, and Brown was eventually extradited from Dubai to the United States. Nantambu later told TMZ Sports that he had forgiven Brown.

Brown’s situation is another reminder that athletic fame offers no protection from the court system. Over the years, some of the biggest names in sports have faced everything from weapons charges and civil lawsuits to cases involving assault, animal cruelty and murder. Some were acquitted, others reached plea deals or settlements, and several served significant prison sentences. Here are some of the most notorious legal cases involving prominent athletes.

Antonio Brown

Brown was charged with second-degree attempted murder over the May 2025 incident involving Nantambu and initially faced the possibility of decades behind bars. His attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, said Brown continued to maintain his innocence and believed he had a viable self-defense argument, but the proposed plea agreement would substantially reduce the charge and result in probation instead of prison. The agreement is expected to be formally addressed in court on September 30.

QueenzFlip might be known to casual fans as a member of The Joe Budden Podcast, but he has long established himself as a leader in the content space. A video featuring QueenzFlip showed a moment between him and former JBP cast member Rory Farrell, with things appearing to be tense at the time.

The video features QueenzFlip at the Girls Love Karaoke event, presumably with his son and cameraman J.R. capturing the footage. While inside the venue, Rory pulls up on Flip and starts pressing the Queens native about comments he made on The Joe Budden Podcast about him and his current co-host, Jamil “MAL” Clay, reportedly referring to the pair as “suckers.”

With the video trending on X, fans bubbled up another video where Flip tried to speak with Remy Ma, who called him out of his name for supporting Papoose’s new diss track, “Jezebel,” on the JBP. It was all good just a few weeks ago for New York Giants fans.

The club had a new, established coach in John Harbaugh, a fiery young quarterback in Jaxson Dart, and nostalgic aura farming thanks to returning wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

In Week 1, they posted a promising, dominant 28-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

But it all fell apart in the first series of the Los Angeles Rams game, when Dart got jammed up between two linemen and immediately fell to the ground, grabbing his left knee.

Fans were initially hopeful because, despite a limp, he walked to the sideline on his own. But now it’s been confirmed that he suffered a season-ending injury. 

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dart’s injury includes damage to his left MCL, PCL, and meniscus. There isn’t any ACL damage, but to repair the other ligaments, he’s gonna need season-ending surgery.

Despite the promising start for the Giants going up in flames, coach Harbaugh knows it’s next man up and is immediately looking at the rest of the season and his team’s postseason chances. 

“I think I said it, yeah. I said it – regular season. Other than that, how do you know? There’s no way to know. It just depends on the recovery. You can’t pinpoint it exactly,” Harbaugh said after Wednesday’s practice.

After Dart’s exit, veteran Jameis Winston took over during the painful 28-6 loss. It wasn’t too surprising, since the offense prepared a game plan for Dart, so Winston’s takeover was a shakeup.

But now that they know Winston is QB1, their focus has shifted and they’re not giving up on the season just two weeks in.

“To me, a big part of it is building a game plan now for Jameis,” Harbaugh said. “He’ll be the starter. So, build a game plan for Jameis to suit his skill set. The game plan this last week was built for Jaxson, obviously. This will be an opportunity to do that, and that’s exactly what we’ll do. We’ll build around all the things that he does well that are in the offense, which there’s plenty in the offense, and of course how to attack Tennessee and their defense and what they do.”

Winston, who signed his contract with the Giants five days before the season began, is excited to take over in his second NY season. Having started two games last year, he’s now taking it game by game. 

“But for this game alone, my focus is on being my very best, going out there and having elite fundamentals and precise execution…No matter how big it may seem, being present and focused on doing all that you can do with what you have, with where you are. For right now, that’s keeping Jaxson’s spirits uplifted and going out there on that football field and being the New York Football Giants starting quarterback right now.”

Winston’s first game will be at home against the 0-2 Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon.

Long before streaming made it possible to binge an entire college experience in a weekend, A Different World gave viewers Hillman College and, perhaps more importantly, an unforgettable lineup of men who made campus life a whole lot more interesting.

The beloved sitcom that aired on NBC from 1987 to 1993 had a stunning cast of Black men. From smooth-talking upperclassmen and basketball stars to professors, love interests and the newest generation of Hillman students, the fictional HBCU has never exactly had a shortage of eye candy. Some were serious about their studies. Some were serious about their careers. Some were serious about somebody else’s girlfriend. And some simply walked onto campus and immediately became memorable.

With the original series spanning six seasons and the new 2026 Netflix continuation bringing a fresh class through Hillman’s gates, it’s time to revisit some of the men who made the campus worth tuning in for.

Vogue World Milano kicked off Milan Fashion Week on September 22 as fashion month continues. The fifth iteration of the legacy fashion magazine’s now-signature event took over the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, celebrating Italian fashion through archival pieces, custom designs and current collections.

The designer lineup was fire, the celebrity and fashion-insider sightings were as exciting as we’d expect, and fashion history was everywhere. Versace, Prada, Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Fendi, Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana were among the major houses represented.

Nearly six years after George Floyd’s murder sparked a worldwide reckoning over police brutality, some members of his family are demanding answers about another issue that has been lingering in the background. What happened to the millions of dollars donated in his name?

According to TMZ, George Floyd’s siblings Zsazsa, LaTonya and Rodney Floyd are demanding a complete accounting of the George Floyd Memorial GoFundMe campaign, which reportedly raised approximately $19 million. A Houston-based attorney representing the three relatives sent Philonise Floyd, George’s brother, a letter requesting financial records, including GoFundMe reports, bank statements, transaction histories, tax filings and other documents detailing how the money was handled and distributed.

The relatives say they are George’s heirs and believe they are entitled to a portion of the money, but claim they have repeatedly asked for documentation explaining where the funds went without receiving satisfactory answers. They gave Philonise 20 days to provide the requested records, while their attorney indicated that they hoped the dispute could be resolved without turning it into a bigger legal battle.

And because apparently nothing surrounding George Floyd’s case can happen without another layer of questions, the family members also say they reached out to attorney Ben Crump for answers and received no response. Rodney Floyd told TMZ that the family wants to understand how financial decisions were made and make sure their questions are answered.

“We want to see the records, understand how decisions were made, and make sure the family’s questions are answered. We’re speaking up because transparency matters.”

That demand is particularly significant considering how enormous the fundraiser became. TMZ previously reported that the campaign collected nearly $13 million from roughly 500,000 donations within just over a week, making it a GoFundMe record at the time. Philonise Floyd had previously said the money would help cover funeral and burial expenses, counseling, travel related to court proceedings and other family needs, with some funds going toward George’s estate and his children’s education.

Now, some of George’s relatives are asking to see the receipts. And considering the amount of money involved, “trust us” just ain’t gonna cut it.

Rumors that the couple secretly tied the knot started back in May, when eagle-eyed social media sleuths noticed the pair sporting wedding bands in certain photos. Plus, the stars were following each other exclusively on Instagram.

In more recent Instagram posts, the model has confirmed that she is off the market, though she’s kept the chatter surrounding her relationship hush-hush. Still, she drops hints here and there that seem to confirm her and Boyega are happily married.

One of the pictures that appeared in her latest carousel shows half of Boyega’s face with the Tae’s reflection in his sunglasses. She also included a sweet cartoon sketch of the couple, which is the closest we’ve gotten to a bona fide hard launch.

To make their relationship even more obvious, the Star Wars actor took to his rumored wife’s comment section with some flirty banter. making jokes about pounded yam, a popular Nigerian dish. Plus, he referred to Heckard as his “lover.”

“So this is why you cook Pounded yam and egusi on Saturdays?? a tactical weapon of mass plan-canceling. I’m onto you lover,” he commented on the post, which included a reel about how 35 and up folks prefer to hang out at home.

While the British actor is only 34, Heckard is 14 years his senior at 48.

Boyega has also commented on other recent posts from the model, joking about how she keeps them “in Walmart for 2+ hours.” Heckard had no problem with that accusation, replying that she does because “i love watching you put all my shenannies in the cart. yum.”

Tae and John going more public with their relationship comes months after fans first speculated about their marital status. As BOSSIP previously reported, back in May, Heckard posted a dump of photos that featured a sparkly engagement ring and matching wedding band.

While neither star has said, outright, that they’re married, Tae is still wearing those rings in her most recent post, which seems to confirm that she’s a wife.

As for when these two private lovebirds first began dating, it’s hard to say. They were first spotted together, publicly, at Disneyland in April 2025–but it’s possible that they’ve been cooking up a romance for much longer, out of the public eye.

Brittney Griner’s estranged wife, Cherelle Griner, wants the court to consider the WNBA star’s bank account when determining whether she should receive financial support following their divorce.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Cherelle filed a response to Brittney’s divorce petition following the couple’s eight-year marriage. Cherelle was particularly vocal during Brittney’s nearly 10-month detention in Russia, publicly advocating for the basketball star’s release.

In the new paperwork, Cherelle lists June 18, 2018, as the date of their marriage and July 24, 2026, as their date of separation. She says the marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”

The couple share a child, Bash Griner, and Cherelle is requesting joint legal custody. She wants the court to determine physical custody and parenting time based on what it considers to be in their child’s best interests.

But money is also a major issue in the divorce.

Cherelle is asking the court to award her financial support, arguing there is a “substantial disparity” between her income and Brittney’s. She says she is “unable to meet her reasonable financial needs on a monthly basis without continued support.”

That income gap is particularly notable given Brittney’s current WNBA contract. The veteran center is playing for the Connecticut Sun and reportedly signed a one-year deal worth more than $1 million.

Cherelle’s filing does not necessarily mean the court will award her the amount of support she is requesting. The court will ultimately determine whether support is appropriate and, if so, how much.

The divorce proceedings remain ongoing, and neither side has publicly commented on the latest filing.

Founded in 1904 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the storied institution started with $1.50, five students, faith in God, and the iconic educator’s unshakeable belief that every person deserves access to transformative education.

From that single room, Bethune built a culturally impactful HBCU rooted in faith, service, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Dr. Bethune went on to become an international icon who counseled U.S. Presidents and played a key role in the founding of the United Nations.

She also helped found the United Negro College Fund with Bethune-Cookman making history as a charter member.

In 1923, the school merged with Cookman Institute–the first institution of higher education for Black people in the State of Florida. A few years later, the school’s name was officially changed to Bethune-Cookman College to reflect the leadership of Dr. Bethune.

Over the years, Bethune-Cookman grew steadily, adding academic programs and expanding its physical footprint before achieving university status in 2007 after adding a graduate program in transformational leadership to its offerings.

With innovation at the forefront of its growth, BCU launched B-CU Global which “empowers you to “be on the beach” while working, reinventing yourself, finishing the degree you started, raising a family, or serving your country,” per its site.

“The whole world opened to me when I learned to read. Today, B-CU Global opens that world to every student, wherever they are,” wrote the University in a quote inspired by Dr. Bethune.

It looks like Byron Donalds, the Republican candidate running to become governor of Florida, is actively creating distance between himself and President Donald Trump. Sources noted that his campaign website has removed several prominent endorsements of Trump’s.

The page’s main headline once read “TRUMP-ENDORSED Proven Conservative Fighter,” along with a yellow banner icon that read “ENDORSED BY PRESIDENT TRUMP!” The button on the homepage beckoning supporters to “Chip In to Support Trump-Endorsed Byron Donalds” has been removed, as well as a separate section named “RUN, BYRON, RUN!” after Trump’s 2025 endorsement message.

According to reporting from the Miami Herald, other references throughout the campaign website have been eliminated. A photo of Donalds and his wife, Erika, posing with Trump has been removed, and Trump’s name has been de-emphasized among a list of other GOP politicians and right-wing figures such as Florida Senator Rick Scott, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and the late Charlie Kirk.

Eight other references to Trump have also been removed throughout Donalds’ website, according to visual data firm Visualping, including the second topic on his issues section, which was “Fight Illegal Immigration,” which has now been relegated to “stop taxpayer handouts to illegal immigration” under the “Law & Order” topic.

“Our campaign website reflects Byron’s focus on the issues that matter most to Floridians — affordability, insurance costs, and government transparency,” Donalds’ campaign spokesperson Gates McGavick said in a statement when contacted. “He’s running to be the next Governor of Florida, is proud to have President Trump’s endorsement, and has real policy proposals to tackle those issues. Meanwhile, David Jolly is all sound bites, no depth, and no policy.”

Donalds is facing off against Democrat David Jolly to become governor, and polling thus far shows that Donalds has either a slight edge over his competitor with five weeks to go until the midterm elections in November. Trump’s rising unpopularity after an ill-advised war in Iran, increasing gas prices and rampant food instability has endangered the GOP’s midterm outlook.

The shift was noticable last month as Donalds took the stage after his primary win over James Fishback. He didn’t mention Trump at all in his victory speech, choosing instead to focus on other GOP stalwarts such as South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.

Sean “Diddy” Combs can now celebrate a major legal victory after a lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge. According to an exclusive new report, a lawsuit brought against Diddy by Las Vegas entertainer Julian Sapp was tossed aside due to the length of time that’s passed/

Exclusively reported by All Hip Hop, Julian Sapp, who allegedly crossed paths with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2007, claims that the Bad Boy mogul hired the adult entertainer to work at a Las Vegas hotel.

Sapp added in the lawsuit that after that initial meeting, Combs promised to help the aspiring musician in his journey but instead was forced into sexual acts, adding that he was also allegedly drugged and filmed in compromising positions. According to Sapp, Combs used the videos as a means of controlling Sapp and threatened to put out the footage.

U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon ruled on September 18 to grant Combs’ motion to dismiss the matter because Sapp waited too long to file the complaint. Rochon said that the charges expressed in the complaint fell outside the bounds of the statute of limitations.

Sapp said that the last time he spoke with Diddy was in 2012. His lawsuit was filed last year.

Nicki Minaj’s shift towards President Donald Trump and all things MAGA completely blindsided many, to the point that some observers thought it was all one long con. During a new interview, Nicki Minaj reaffirmed her connection with President Trump and doubled down on the love fest.

As reported by USA Today, Nicki Minaj sat down with Laura Ingraham for the host’s The Ingraham Angle program alongside SBA Administration Kelly Loeffler to talk about the finer points of the Million-Dollar Pitch Competition on September 18.

“I am honored to be able to have an opportunity to work with this administration and to work with President Trump,” Minaj said to Ingraham. “He has inspired many people, not just me, and he’s fun. He’s not just smart and he’s just not the president, but he’s also just someone that I can relate to.”

We spent a few minutes chatting about her locs and how she came to the sky-high, sculpted loc mohawk that has become her signature.

“You know I think I’ve tried every hairstyle known to man. You name the style, I had it,” she started when HelloBeautiful asked about her hair.

Going deeper, Danessa pointed to the microaggressions, pushback and biased perceptions she experienced in professional spaces as part of the inspiration. As millennials, people my age, would say, she made her haters her motivators.

“In my professional life I think I got to a point where I wanted to make a statement about who I am,” she continued. “In my professional journey there was always a lot of push back about my hair and it was very discouraging.”

Danessa is known to tell it like it is and turn negativity on its head. She did the same with her own style.

“Instead of shrinking into that, I wanted to dial that up,” she told HB. “I wanted to say that this is me. I can be powerful, I can be bold. This is my hair.” She continued, “I can be an amazing entrepreneur, I can still be an executive. And I am an amazing business person, too.”

Danessa continues to find identity, pride and purpose in the look.

“And there are so many women that I know who struggle with this. They are not seeing themselves in the corporate world,” she said. “So it’s so important that I rep for all of us. I want them to be able to see me, so that they can see themselves through me because our natural hair is beautiful.”

“I mean that’s it. I feel the most powerful in my natural hair,” she answered, looking down at her outfit. “I really feel like I am channeling the ancestors and it doesn’t matter if I am in sweats or in this beautiful Sergio Hudson gown, it works.”

And the Sergio Hudson gown wasn’t a random reference.

We caught up with Danessa in the middle of a flurry backstage at Sergio Hudson’s Spring/Summer 2027 show.

Models sat in chairs getting last-minute touches to their hair and makeup. Photographers, assistants and staff moved throughout the packed space.

More than 20 stylists filled the crowded area, studying reference looks, reaching for products and watching the clock. Everyone was focused on getting each detail right before the show.

Creator Shalom Blac and reality tv star Clarke Carray posed with models, laughed and talked. Other journalists huddled nearby, gathering content and squeezing in interviews.

But amid the chaos, there was so much beauty, especially for students of fashion and everyday fashion lovers. Seeing how much work goes into a show audiences experience in a matter of minutes is humbling.

The Black creative leadership backstage stayed with me, too.

Sergio Hudson was leading the fashion. Danessa Myricks Beauty was part of the makeup story. Camille Rose provided hair products backstage, while Sir John brought his eye-maxxing technique to life as lead makeup artist. When asked about the connection between hair, makeup and fashion, Danessa Myricks smiled.

“It’s storytelling.”

She continued, “We’re just using different vehicles to tell a story. And here, backstage, we’re all using our various mediums to tell Sergio’s story.”
