Organized by Michele Coti Zelati, Emmanuel Dormy, David Gérard-Varet, and László Székelyhidi, the seminar will focus on recent advances in the mathematical analysis of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), dynamo theory, and magnetic relaxation. These topics are central to understanding magnetic field generation in conducting fluids, with important applications in planetary physics, astrophysics, solar corona dynamics, and fusion plasmas. Particular emphasis will be placed on low-viscosity and low-resistivity regimes, the emergence of small scales, magnetic instabilities, and the interplay between stretching and diffusion in MHD flows. The program will combine lectures, discussions, and short presentations addressing current mathematical challenges in the field.The Institute covers accommodation and meals, and partial travel reimbursement (up to approximately 150 EUR on average) is available.Participation is limited to 24 attendees.

We are pleased to announce the workshop “Tenerife Nonlocal PDE Days”, which will take place from November 30 to December 3, 2026, at the Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain.

The aim of the meeting is to bring together researchers working on nonlocal partial differential equations in order to exchange ideas in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. The event will be hosted by the Department of Mathematical Analysis of the Universidad de La Laguna and funded by the Red de Ecuaciones en Derivadas Parciales No Locales y Aplicaciones (MCIU–AEI, Spain).

Registration is mandatory for all participants for organizational purposes. Please note that early registration is open until September 30.

We would also like to highlight that there will be a poster session, especially aimed at PhD students and early-career postdoctoral researchers. We strongly encourage young researchers to submit a poster proposal and participate in the event.

Spring School on Analysis 2027: Function Spaces and Applications XIV

Spring School on Analysis 2027: Function Spaces and Applications XIV aims to bring together researchers with a common interest in the field. Graduate students and others beginning their mathematical careers are encouraged to participate.

The main program will consist of invited lecture courses delivered by Eleonora Cinti (University of Bologna), Guozhen Lu (University of Connecticut), and Anna Zatorska-Goldstein (University of Warsaw). There will also be a limited number of short talks.

INdAM School - Rome 2027: New Perspectives on Variational and Geometric Problems

7 - 11 Jun 2027: INdAM Rome.

The workshop, organized as a summer school, will take place from June 7 to 11, 2027. Its central theme will be the study of variational and geometric problems through advanced methods developed in the field of the Calculus of Variations. The workshop aims to bring together leading experts in the field to provide PhD students and early-career researchers with an introduction to these topics and the modern techniques used to address them.

The workshop will be primarily dedicated to three high-level minicourses, each consisting of approximately 6 hours of lectures, for a total of 18 hours overall. These minicourses will be delivered by Ailana Fraser, Alessandro Giacomini, and Bozhidar Velichkov, who have already kindly accepted our invitation to participate. Their courses will explore advanced and contemporary developments in variational and geometric problems, offering participants a broad overview of the field. The morning sessions will be devoted to these minicourses, giving the workshop a strong pedagogical character and offering PhD students and early-career researchers valuable insights into ideas, techniques, and current research directions. The overall program has been intentionally designed with a relatively light schedule, with the aim of maximizing both scientific interaction and pedagogical effectiveness. The afternoons will be dedicated to informal networking and a selection of scientific talks, providing both senior and junior researchers with the opportunity to present their recent results. To further encourage the active involvement of early-career participants, a dedicated poster session is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. In addition, each day will include time for open discussion, promoting interaction and the exchange of ideas among all participants.

Inclusivity and diversity are foundational principles of this event. We have paid particular attention to ensuring gender balance, ensuring equitable representation both within the organizing committee and among the invited speakers. We are also strongly committed to promoting scientific and geographical diversity: the program is designed to bridge geometric and variational communities while bringing together participants from a wide range of countries, including Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

By combining scientific excellence with an inclusive educational approach, we believe this event will offer a valuable experience for early-career mathematicians. To further support this goal, we apply for funding for PhD students and junior researchers with limited financial resources, thereby facilitating their participation. Overall, the school is designed to cultivate a highly stimulating, internationally representative, and diverse academic environment that actively supports and promotes the academic development of early-career participants.

Summer school on Calculus of Variations

19 - 23 Jul 2027: Cluster of Excellence Mathematics Münster.

The summer school aims to introduce its participants to some of the modern techniques in the Calculus of Variations and theory of PDEs. A particular focus will be devoted to the modelling of complex phenomena, ranging from mixed nonlocal-local model to the stochastic homogenization of microscopic structures and effects.

The school will consist of 4 courses of approximately 6 hours each, for a total of 24 hours. The lectures will be held by Sara Daneri, Serena Dipierro, Michael Goldman, and Filip Rindler. The courses will provide participants with a self-contained set of tools to strengthen their background. A poster session will conclude the program, giving early career researchers space to present their work, interact between each other and with the lecturers, and fostering new connections. Funding to cover accommodation will be available, with particular attention to underrepresented groups and gender equality.
