I agree that tax software only shows the most common deductions where a Tax Accountant can find all deductions that pertain to you.

There are so many opportunities for charitable giving out there, but it’s important to safeguard yourself and ensure that your money is going where you expect it to.

This article helped me understand a bit better on how to go about doing my taxes and to take things into consideration whether you want a person to do them or to do them by yourself online.

Especially around tax time. I usually go out and have a professional do my taxes for a huge fee. I am glad I can now do it at home for free!

Especially when you consider that a lot of folks in the US are living paycheck to paycheck. I have done my taxes (simple return) electronically (with direct deposit) the past 3 years with Turbo Tax’s free software, and have not had a single problem. Knock on wood!

It really makes it simple, and used to make me wonder why people dreaded filing? It always caught deductions with the questions it guides you through. I also recommend direct deposit. I don’t want to end up with an unclaimed return!

TurboTax walked me through the whole process – it’s awesome!

I agree that it is immoral to cheat. Not to mention, one could get into legal trouble for intentionally cheating on their taxes. They could face heavy fines or even jail time.

Comment on Majority Of Americans Against Cheating On Taxes by Sir-tax https://2013taxes.org/majority-of-americans-against-cheating-on-2013-taxes/#comment-100 Tue, 25 Feb 2014 15:09:38 +0000 http://2013taxes.org/?p=401#comment-100 Personally, I don’t think ‘cheating’ is worth the risk. If the IRS come after you and find you’ve been less than honest, they’ll hit hard. Better to make use of the many legitimate ways available to reduce your tax bill (e.g. make sure you‘re claiming every deduction that‘s available to you).
