Is there a reason for the slowdown in releases?

Fooled quite a bit with the original, too.

I think that site was rebuilt / regenerated since when I read the original link out of RSS, cause it’s strange to copy and paste and lose the center of a link.

Whenever I stumble upon something worth mentioning on the Internet I just put it here.
Today the amount information that we get using various information streams is at massive overload. Thus one needs to focus only on what is important without the need to grep(1) the Internet everyday. Hence the idea of providing such information ‘bulk’ as I already do that grep(1).
The Usual Suspects section at the end is permanent and have links to other sites with interesting UNIX/BSD/Linux news.
Past releases are available at the dedicated NEWS page.

Yeah your sysupgrade and whatnot checks hashes. Have you ever checked those? Where did those SHA256.sig files come from? The same place your callously enabled network in single user tells your machine the files are, thats right. Has it ever occurred to you how wild it is that many of us have – for decades now – essentially overwritten large chunks of our production systems right from a flimsy copper wire that goes up and down the hill under public roads with complete faith and trust in your distro maintainers, ISP, god and state?
Wild man.

Also. If it’s just a find/replace of TLS … a great way to do links is just “://example.com”

By not putting http or https, the browser will respect whatever connection your on.
