Sophie runs open-air Saturdays at Ogus Park in Churriana (capacity 6,000, two stages) from June through September, single-date tickets only, no season pass. Its two September dates close out the 2026 run, and on paper they’re the two strongest bookings of the season.

Chapter #6 — Richie Hawtin — September 5

Richie Hawtin headlines with Sama’ Abdulhadi, Objekt and Cassy in support. Hawtin’s been shaping techno since Detroit’s second wave in the early ’90s, through Plastikman and the Minus label to his current From Our Minds project, and an open-air set from him at this scale doesn’t happen often on this coast. Sama’ Abdulhadi brings the harder, more industrial end of the lineup.

Grand Closing — Ricardo Villalobos & Seth Troxler — September 19

Sophie ends its 2026 season with Ricardo Villalobos and Seth Troxler on the same bill — two DJs known for marathon, unpredictable sets that can run long, which makes the 16:00-to-04:00 window feel earned rather than padded. It’s the last Sophie date of the season.

Playa Padre, Marbella — two ends of the season

Playa Padre runs its Sunday sessions on the sand through the summer, and this month brackets them with two very different bookings: an afro house set from Fiona Kraft to open the month, then HUGEL closing out the venue’s season on the last Sunday.

HUGEL — September 27

Playa Padre, Marbella · 19:00

HUGEL’s remix of El Profesor’s “Bella Ciao” turned him into one of the more recognisable names in French house, and he’s kept a hand in Ibiza residencies at Ushuaïa and Pacha since. His Playa Padre date closes the venue’s summer booking run with a bigger, more festival-leaning set than the room usually hosts.

Station Shiva Recordings – season closing — September 12, El Charcón Beach

El Charcón Beach, Mijas–Torremolinos coast · from 17:00

El Charcón Beach closes its season with a lineup built around Valencia’s Oven Club: Pin & Pau Perez headline, Ignacio Morales and Alexis Cabrera run their now-regular back-to-back, and local opener Moruki warms up the decks from five. Morales works in dub tech and tech house, shaped by time in London and Ibiza clubs including Privilege and Pacha; Cabrera performs entirely live, building sets from modular synths and drum machines rather than a laptop. Between the three it’s a heavier, more DJ-focused night than most of the coast’s beach-club closers.

What The House – Summer Closing — September 19, El Charcón Beach

What The House closes its 2026 season back at El Charcón Beach, running from midday into the night. Sol Brown, Tito Pulpo, Aston Evans and Brian Power headline, with residents Terry Hobbs, Inma Perez, Kev Suff, Dreamell, Heddi, Luis Linares and Nicky Clements filling out a full day of house and deep house rather than one headline set. It lands the same Saturday as Sophie’s own closing party over in Málaga, so it’s worth deciding which end of the coast you want for the 19th.

Cabaret Rouge – Red Party — September 27, Nikki Beach Marbella

Nikki Beach closes its “Timeless Joy of Celebration” series with Cabaret Rouge, the venue’s signature Red Party rebuilt around cabaret-style performances and a soundtrack built to carry from afternoon into night. Everyone in red, candlelight, a dancefloor that doesn’t let up — it’s more spectacle than club night, in the way Nikki Beach events usually are, but it’s also the last of this particular series before the wider season closes on October 11.

Nikki Beach Marbella’s weekly residencies continue through September: Heatwave on Wednesdays for afro house and Rewind on Thursdays for house classics. La Plage Casanis runs Sunset Rituals every Sunday as the beach turns into a dancefloor at golden hour. Eden Beach Club in Torremolinos has a recurring It’s A House Thing night pencilled in for Wednesday, September 9, with DJ Du Jour — details beyond the date are thin, so treat it as a heads-up rather than a confirmed booking. Pangea’s rooftop in Puerto Banús and Bonbonniere Marbella (residents Marco Carola and Claptone) both stay open through the end of the month, though neither has published specific September lineups yet. Worth checking closer to the date if you’re planning a night around either.

Dreambeach spills a day into August this year, and it’s the day worth knowing about. Friday belongs to progressive and melodic techno, with Eric Prydz headlining alongside Nico Moreno and a rare Sasha & John Digweed back-to-back, but Saturday, August 1, is the one on this list: David Guetta closes with his Monolith show, a 15-metre LED structure built for the set, backed by a bill that runs from Nicole Moudaber and Luciano through to Hannah Wants and Mathame. It’s a big-tent festival rather than a purist’s night out, but the Saturday lineup has enough house and techno depth underneath the headline names to reward showing up before the main stage set.

Editor’s note: book accommodation in Vélez-Málaga or Torre del Mar early. This is the single busiest festival weekend on the eastern Costa del Sol and rooms disappear fast.

Classics Brunch — August 1, Victor’s Beach, Marbella

Classics Brunch runs an eight-hour house session at Victor’s Beach on the Golden Mile, staged under BeachGrooves’ own banner with JBL Professional handling the sound. The lineup skews toward house heads who came up on the genre: Andy Galea, Neill Mackay, Steve Hanbury and Mr Marcardi trade sets through the afternoon and into the evening, with K:Miss on vocals. It runs classic house from 3pm to 11pm, no crossover pop sets, no filler.

Satisfaxion 30+3: Underworld (Live) + Sven Väth + Bonobo — August 8, Fuengirola

This is the pairing that makes the month. Satisfaxion, the promoter behind three decades of parties on this coast, marks its anniversary by putting Underworld’s live show next to Sven Väth on the same bill, with Bonobo and Christian Löffler filling out the night. Underworld need no introduction to anyone who came up on Dubnobasswithmyheadman or “Born Slippy .NUXX.” Väth has been shaping techno out of Frankfurt and Ibiza since the early ’90s, and putting Karl Hyde and Rick Smith’s live show next to him on the same bill is the kind of booking that doesn’t repeat easily. Bonobo’s downtempo, sample-heavy sets give the evening somewhere to breathe between the two heavier sets.

Disco del Sol – 23rd Anniversary — August 14, Nikki Beach Marbella

Nikki Beach turns 23 this month and marks it with Disco del Sol, the third chapter in the venue’s “Timeless Joy of Celebration” series, built around late-’70s disco and Studio 54-era glamour. Expect gold tones and mirrored decor over a soundtrack of disco and nu-disco remixes that runs from lunch into golden hour, with Patrón El Alto pouring the signature cocktails. It’s less a club night than a daytime institution marking its own anniversary, and it leans into spectacle as much as music, which is very much the Nikki Beach house style.

12:XII Festival — DJ Snake — August 21, San Pedro de Alcántara

A brand-new one-day festival, built around the theme “Beyond Time” and staged between the coastline and the Sierra Blanca. DJ Snake, the French producer behind “Turn Down for What,” “Lean On” and “Taki Taki,” headlines its debut edition, with Joezi, whose Afro house and melodic sets have made him one of the genre’s more distinctive names, alongside Skinny, Declan and Blacksun. The production is built around giant LED screens and an elevated VIP section among the palm trees. It’s a first edition with no track record yet, but the DJ Snake booking alone is enough to make it worth watching.

elrow Málaga XXL — August 22, Málaga Forum

elrow returns to Málaga after two years away, and it’s coming back at full scale: three stages, over 20,000 expected, and a lineup that splits cleanly down genre lines rather than blending everything into one. The Martinez Brothers and Wade anchor the house and tech house side; 999999999, DYEN b2b Jowi and Fatima Hajji cover the harder, faster techno that’s been creeping into elrow’s bookings for a few years now; and the new Pure Bassline stage is a genuine breakbeat and rave throwback, with Leeroy Thornhill (formerly of The Prodigy) alongside Rasco, UFO Project and a run of Andalusian rave veterans. Visually it’s Rowsmic Carnival, the elrow universe designed with street artist Okuda San Miguel, on one side of the site, and Horrorween’s monster theatrics on the other.

What The House x Charcón Beach — August 22, El Charcón Beach, Mijas Costa

What The House returns to El Charcón for its fourth edition, pairing international guests with some of the coast’s own regulars for a full day of house on the sand. Sy Sez (Deep Into Soul, Raising Records) and Stuart Patterson (Defected, Faith) headline; BeachGrooves’ own Tito Pulpo (Save Our Soul) and Terry Hobbs play through the day too, alongside Pat Bedeau, Origami and DJ Javan (Puente Romano, WTFunk). The brief stays soulful and deep across the day, not just peak-time blasts, which is what’s built the event’s following over three previous editions.

Nikki Beach Marbella runs Afro house every Wednesday through its Heatwave residency (12:00–19:00), and Saturdays bring live sax over house selections with Saturdance. Over at Sublim Beach, the weekly Rituals party (Saturdays, 13:00–21:00) pairs live percussion with resident DJs. Kova Beach Club in Puerto Banús runs a weekly Friday party under the Bouj On The Beach banner through August — lineups aren’t published this far out, so treat it as a reliable weekly rather than a booked night.

When the beach day wraps, the party moves indoors. The official after party keeps Cafe 432, Dave Law, Tito Pulpo and Terry Hobbs on the bill, joined by Boombastick, for a more intimate, deep-and-soulful late session. MOMENTO Marbella: The July Residency

MOMENTO on the Golden Mile has turned into one of the most reliable rooms on the coast this season, and July is stacked. Four nights stand out.

Caiiro — Thursday 9 July

The South African producer behind “Sondela” is one of the names driving Afro house’s crossover into the wider house conversation right now. Expect tribal percussion, warm low end and a set built for a long, patient build rather than instant gratification.

Jan Blomqvist — Saturday 11 July

The Berlin-based artist performs live rather than DJing in the traditional sense, blending vocals, synths and melodic techno into something more song-driven than most club nights on this list. If you want a set with an emotional arc, this is the one to plan around.

Themba — Thursday 16 July

Another South African name, and arguably the most-streamed Afro house export of the last few years off the back of “Shaya.” His sets lean tech house as much as Afro house — sparse, rhythmic, built to move a room without ever sounding rushed.

WhoMadeWho — Friday 31 July

The Danish trio close out MOMENTO’s July calendar, and they’re a genuine outlier on this list: live instrumentation — guitar, bass, drums — folded into house and melodic techno productions that have made them a fixture at Kompakt and Innervisions-adjacent line-ups for over a decade. A proper way to end the month.

Bonbonniere Marbella

Bonbonniere’s Ctra. de Istán room has built its identity around tech house and dark, minimal design, and July’s three confirmed nights lean into exactly that.

Corkidi — Saturday 4 July

An Afro house and organic-house producer with releases through eViVE and Sony Music, Corkidi’s sound sits closer to the tribal, percussion-led end of the spectrum — the kind of set that suits Bonbonniere’s later hours.

Volkoder — Friday 10 July

The Brazilian producer has spent a decade building a reputation for rolling, hypnotic house grooves — tracks that have found their way into sets from Jamie Jones, Marco Carola and Luciano. Expect patient, tightly-coiled low end rather than fireworks.

Agents of Time — Thursday 23 July

The Italian duo behind “Polina” play a hardware-heavy, largely improvised live set that moves between melodic techno, dark house and the occasional detour into acid. One of the more unpredictable bookings on the coast this month.

Dreambeach Costa del Sol — 31 July to 1 August

July doesn’t quite end before Dreambeach gets going. The Costa del Sol edition of the festival spreads across four stages, with Friday night headlined by Eric Prydz, Nico Moreno and a Sasha & John Digweed back-to-back, and Saturday closing with David Guetta’s Monolith production — a purpose-built stage set rather than a standard DJ set. Mathame, Luciano, Charlie Tee, DJ Zinc and a long support bill round things out, with more names still to be confirmed.

It’s a bigger, more festival-scaled night than most of what’s on this list — worth it if you want the full production spectacle to close out your month.

Also Worth Knowing

Pangea in Puerto Banús runs its regular rooftop calendar throughout July — Iconic Fridays, Vanity Saturdays and Allure Ladies Night (16 & 30 Jul) — more supper-club-meets-DJ-set than a pure listening room, but a reliable option if you’re already in the marina. Faithless play a live show at Marbella Arena on 9 July — not a club night, but worth flagging for anyone who came up on their catalogue. And La Plage Casanis keeps its weekly Sunset Sessions running every Sunday, DJ sets at golden hour facing the Mediterranean — low-key, reliable, no ticket required.

There is also a new name to know. Solaris Nerja arrives this month as a brand-new ten-day festival at El Playazo beach — concerts, DJs, a food market, digital art installations and a 40-metre Ferris wheel. Among the eight events running from June 18–28, four are electronic or electronic-adjacent. Nerja is quietly becoming a proper destination for this audience, and June 2026 is where it announces itself.

The third annual edition of this one, and it has earned its reputation the honest way — it sells out every year. The concept is simple: London House Music (LHMusic) bring a selection of UK selectors to the Costa del Sol to join the local What The House crew for a full-day beach party at El Charcon, one of Mijas Costa’s most open and naturally beautiful stretches of coastline. Midday until midnight, outdoors, on the sand, with a strong house lineup from start to finish. There’s an afterparty in nearby Fuengirola — less than ten minutes away — running until 6am for those who want to extend the night.

The lineup is the real draw. Terry Farley is a cornerstone of UK house history — a founding member of the Boys Own collective, one of the crews that shaped the British house and rave scene from the late 1980s onwards. His DJ sets draw on over thirty years of crate knowledge, and he remains one of the most informed selectors on the UK circuit. Alongside him: Ronnie Herel, the Kiss FM broadcaster and DJ whose Saturday night shows defined a generation of UK garage and house listeners; Stuart Patterson, a respected fixture of the UK house scene; and from closer to home, three names you will know from BeachGrooves Radio’s own airwaves — Tito Pulpo, Terry Hobbs, and Milady, all resident DJs on BeachGrooves Radio. Their presence on this bill is a mark of how well the local scene has developed: these are selectors who hold their own alongside the UK contingent without any caveats. Also on the lineup: Dan the Drum, Stanley Hood, and Mick Hood.

Chicnic is a Music, Food & Wine experience set in the tropical gardens of the five-star Don Carlos Resort in Elviria — 20,000 square yards of shaded lawns opening onto one of Marbella’s finest beaches. The concept centres on The Tasting Garden, where celebrated regional restaurants set up across the grounds alongside Malaga wines and spirits. You eat well, you drink well, and the soundtrack is curated by an exceptional lineup running across the full afternoon and evening.

Headlining is Sandy Rivera, the New York-born producer and DJ who operates as Kings of Tomorrow — a genuine house music legend. Rivera started DJing at 13 in Spanish Harlem, began producing in 1992, and built his reputation on a strain of deeply soulful, emotionally direct house that has never gone out of fashion. His track Finally (2000) featuring Julie McKnight remains one of the most loved records in the soulful house canon, but his catalogue through Deep Vision Records runs far deeper than one record. Having Sandy close out the afternoon is a strong booking for any event.

Building through the day before Sandy takes over: Tito Pulpo, Aruhtra, Paul Hutchinson and Kawtar Tamwy — a mix of local scene figures and international guests setting the right pace across the hours.

JBL Professional is providing the professional audio setup for the event. Given the outdoor scale of the Don Carlos gardens and the kind of music Sandy plays — soulful, dynamic, built on low-end and vocal clarity — the quality of the sound system is not a minor detail. JBL Professional have been behind live sound at the Super Bowl, the Grammys, and major festival touring rigs for over seven decades. It means the music will be heard the way it was intended.

Solaris Nerja Opens — Les Castizos and Peppe Citarella

Solaris Nerja is a first-edition festival, which always carries a degree of unknown. But the opening night lineup — Les Castizos heading up a session with Peppe Citarella, Manu BS and Rafa Nandez — signals the right intentions. This is a house and electronic session on the beach at El Playazo, and at €5 a ticket it is one of the most accessible entry points to live electronic music on the Costa del Sol this summer.

If you are curious about the festival but not ready to commit to a full weekend, this is the night to check it out. Solaris Village — the market, food area and digital art installations — is free entry throughout all ten days.

Aaron Sevilla — Noche de San Juan at Solaris Nerja

The Noche de San Juan is one of the great Spanish summer rituals — bonfires on the beach, the longest night of the year stretching out across the Mediterranean. This year, El Playazo in Nerja marks the occasion with an Afro-House set from Aaron Sevilla, one of the most distinctive selectors working in Spain right now. His sound sits in that warm, percussive space where deep house meets African rhythm: the kind of music that sounds exactly right on a beach in June with a fire glowing at the waterline.

If you have not made it to Nerja before, the Noche de San Juan is as good a reason as any for the drive east. The combination of the festival setting and the midsummer ritual makes this one of those nights that is hard to replicate anywhere else on the coast.

Defected at Marbella Arena — DJ EZ, Eliza Rose, Melé

Defected returns to Marbella Arena for a third year running, and this is the strongest lineup yet. Heading the bill is DJ EZ — the UK garage legend whose sets have become a masterclass in selector craft over three decades. There is a reason he still headlines festivals: a level of control and musicality on the decks that very few can match. Supporting him are Eliza Rose, whose house track B.O.T.A. crossed into the mainstream charts without losing any of its dancefloor edge, and Melé, the London producer whose sound pulls from UK garage, house, and bass music with precision and wit.

The Marbella Arena is a converted bullring with the kind of open-air setting that makes an evening set genuinely special — warm air, fading light, 360-degree acoustics. Defected sold it out twice last year. Book early.

Techno Flamenco — Marsal Ventura at Solaris Nerja

This one is exactly what it says. Techno Flamenco brings Marsal Ventura — a Barcelona-based producer who has spent years fusing the rhythmic intensity of techno with the percussive roots of flamenco — alongside live flamenco performers on stage. It sounds like a gimmick until you hear it: the compás of flamenco and the grid of techno share more than you would expect, and Ventura knows how to make the two forms push against each other rather than simply sit side by side.

Space of Sound is one of Spain greatest dance music brands, launching in Madrid in the 1990s and remaining a fixture of the national electronic music scene ever since. For the closing night of Solaris Nerja debut edition, they have brought in Claptone: the masked Berlin-based DJ and producer whose sound sits in peak-time house with a melodic sensibility that keeps floors moving for hours. He is an Amnesia Ibiza regular, a Printworks veteran, and a consistent presence across the major European festival circuit. His sets run long and warm — exactly what a festival closing night calls for.

Support comes from Crusy, Nic Vesperi, Aafraa, and Claudia Tejeda. If you are picking one event this month that represents electronic music done properly on the Costa del Sol, this is the one.

Starlite Occident opens (19 June): Marbella biggest boutique festival launches its 2026 edition on 19 June. The June lineup skews toward Latin pop and rock, but the full calendar at starlitefestival.com is worth checking for later summer bookings. The venue — carved into the Marbella hillside — is one of the best in southern Spain.

The Event

Sandy (Kings of Tomorrow)

Sandy Rivera — the New York-born, Puerto Rican-heritage producer and DJ who operates as Kings of Tomorrow — is about as close to house music royalty as it gets. He started DJing at 13 in Spanish Harlem, began producing in 1992, and built his reputation on a strain of deeply soulful, emotionally direct house that has never really gone out of fashion.

The track most people know is Finally (2000), featuring the unmistakable voice of Julie McKnight. It charted in the UK, appeared on what felt like every serious house compilation of the decade, and still lands hard on a good sound system. But Sandy’s catalogue runs much deeper than that one record — his Deep Vision Records label has been releasing quality soulful house for over thirty years.

Having Sandy close out Chicnic is a strong booking. This is the kind of DJ who rewards a crowd that has been fed well and is genuinely in the mood to listen.

The outdoor festival series kicks off its spring 2026 season with four consecutive Saturdays through April, each one curated around a different corner of the electronic spectrum. It runs from 6pm through to 2am at Cortijo de Torres — a venue with real character, open-air and just the right size to feel like a community gathering rather than a cattle run.

The season opener sets a high bar. Paco Osuna — Barcelona-born, Ibiza-seasoned, and one of the sharpest names in modern techno — headlines. His sets are precise and relentless, built on a 25-year career that’s taken him from Amnesia residencies to his own Mindshake label. This is proper peak-time techno from someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.

Franky Rizardo provides the house counterweight: groove-forward, DJ-focused, consistently excellent. Manda Moor and Marti Möon round out an opening night that makes a clear statement about the season ahead.

Editor’s note: This is the one to book early. Season openers at Brunch Electronik have a particular energy — everyone’s coming up for air after winter and it shows on the dancefloor.

Mathame · Massano · Mariano Mellino · SLVR

The second week leans deep into the melodic and atmospheric. Mathame are Italian brothers Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli — classically trained (one spent years at a violin conservatory), they bring a cinematic quality to everything they do. Think Afterlife-adjacent: dreamy, emotive, textured. Their sets feel like watching a slow-burning film scored for a warehouse.

Massano is the counterpart: also riding the melodic techno wave, but harder-edged. Liverpool-raised and Afterlife-connected, his productions combine aggressive sound design with hypnotic grooves in a way that makes rooms move. Mariano Mellino and SLVR support — this is a cohesive lineup that should flow beautifully across the evening.

Hot Since 82 · Miguelle & Tons · Cuartero · Silvie Loto · BELA AKÓ

This is the house-heads’ night. Hot Since 82 — Daley Padley from Barnsley, now one of the most sought-after names in deep and tech house — headlines with the kind of warm, groove-heavy set that works perfectly at golden hour in an open-air setting. His Knee Deep In Sound label has been running quality releases for years, and his DJ sets carry that same well-edited, musical energy.

Cuartero brings genuine Andalusian credibility to the lineup — he’s been a quiet powerhouse on the Spanish and European circuit — while Silvie Loto and BELA AKÓ add depth to a night that should be flowing from the first track to the last.

The April closer is an all-female lineup and one of the most interesting nights on the programme. Fatima Hajji is a Barcelona-based techno DJ with serious credentials — Spain’s answer to the European techno underground, with a discography that spans Drumcode-adjacent labels and a touring schedule that takes her from Fabric to Sónar. Clara Cuvé and Cera Khin bring Berlin-influenced electronic music to the table, while Paula Kasbaeh completes a lineup that reads as carefully considered rather than assembled by algorithm.

If you can only make one, this one is worth a closer look.

Friday April 24 brings not one but two season openers in Puerto Banús, making it the biggest night of the month in Marbella proper.

Pangea returns to its rooftop perch above the marina for another season, and the Reopening Night is the calling card. Siroko Beach, Marbella reopened on March 20th and is running live music every Saturday through the spring — DJ, violin, drums and sax all together on the terrace. Easter Week is one of their focal points. It’s a relaxed beachfront Saturday rather than a late-night commitment, but the setting is hard to beat.
