]]>In Los Cabos, these day passes open the doors to a realm of relaxation, offering indulgence in swimming pools, hot tubs, and sun-kissed beaches. Culinary delights and refreshing drinks await, and for those seeking the epitome of rejuvenation, some day passes even include spa services. Essentially, it’s the resort experience without the commitment of overnight stays and exorbitant price tags. Although the landscape of day passes has shifted in the wake of pandemic-induced health guidelines, there remain excellent options for locals and seasonal residents yearning for a daycation.
While the allure of popular settings like Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas commands attention, the rates reflect the high demand. However, veer away from the well-trodden paths of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, and discover hidden gems that offer picturesque pleasures at surprisingly affordable rates. Embrace the luxury of Los Cabos, not just as a destination but as a daily escape, with Cabo San Lucas day passes unlocking a world of leisure and indulgence for those in the know.
With that in mind, here’s a look at some of our favorite Cabo day pass options in 2024.

Enjoy sand, sun, and fresh air on one of Cabo’s only cove-protected beaches. The focal point of activity around the resort beach, Enclave Beach Club features a boardwalk and loungers scattered among the white-sand beaches. Relax under an umbrella with craft cocktails and tapas from the waterfront bar.
Take in breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez and enjoy direct access to one of the only swimmable beaches in Los Cabos. Relax poolside in a comfy lounge chair or cushioned daybed with a drink in hand or in one of four iconic infinity pools overlooking the beach while kids splash and play. From fine dining to poolside bites, enjoy culinary delights such as fresh-from-the-water seafood, grilled to perfection over a live fire, tangy ceviches, house-baked breads, tropical fruit smoothies, tasting flights of tequilas and rare mezcals and more from the onsite restaurants and bars led by Executive Chef Mauricio Lopez. End the day snuggling up in front of the fire pit in the plush loungers along the lively boardwalk while enjoying hand-crafted cocktails and tapas from the Enclave Beach Club bar. Spoil yourself for the day!
Spend a day in blissful awareness, indulging in all of the beauty Rukhsana’s Wellness & Heavenly Retreat has to offer. Day passes are offered daily from 7am-1pm and includes access to our salt water pool, mini library, walking labyrinth and lush gardens. All passes must be reserved at least 24 hours prior to the start of the day pass.
Includes Mantra Meditation, Hatha Yoga and 10:00am Brunch.

Corazón Cabo’s grand opening in May came on the heels of a $100 million dollar rebuild and rebrand of the old Cabo Villas. The new property offers plenty of great features, from balcony hot tubs in many rooms to the highest rooftop bar in Cabo San Lucas, the spectacular Rooftop 360. The resort’s best feature, of course, is its central location on the city’s largest and most popular beach, Playa El Médano.
The former Cachet Beach Club is now Corazon branded, with everything from lounges and cabanas to fresh seafood and cocktail service. Corazón actually offers several day pass options through resortpass.com, including a beach pass that includes a reserved lounge chair and umbrella.
VIP packages include the “Heart of Cabo”, which boasts a beachfront cabana and 30-minute massage, plus assorted F&B credits at resort-based restaurants (including the beachfront Aleta) and watering holes.
Pelicanos 225, El Médano Ejidal, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 980-0604, Corazon Cabo. Day pass price: From $100 USD for adults. Purchase here Corazon Day Pass.

This property has a long and tangled history in Cabo San Lucas. There are still a few grizzled expats who refer to it as Plaza No Glorias after one of its previous incarnations (and there have been a few, from Costa Real and Plaza Las Glorias to a brief period of Wyndham branding after it became El Tesoro).
That said, the central marina-front location is hard to beat, and the views of the marina and bay beyond from the rooftop Skypool are objectively gorgeous. The swim-up bar and hot tubs here are pretty sweet, too.
Day passes have gone up in price in recent years, but still remain an incredible value. They’re now available in either 4- or 7-hour versions, and include access to the pool and hot tubs, plus cabanas, lounge chairs and towels, as well as free Wi-Fi and basically all the food and drinks you can handle (unlimited national drinks and breakfast buffet for the 4-hour version; all that plus lunch for the 7-hour ticket).
It’s definitely a top Cabo day pass option. Children under 12 aren’t eligible, however, and guests will need to check in at reception and leave an ID card as a guarantee against damages.
Blvd. Paseo de la Marina, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 173-9300, Tesoro Los Cabos.

The name doesn’t lie. Gran Faro means great lighthouse, and this all-inclusive San José del Cabo resort certainly has one, along with a sushi bar at its top that offers spectacular wraparound views of the city and Sea of Cortés. The property’s most notable asset, however, is the beach. Barcelo is set along the Zona Hotelera – the city’s prime hotel zone – which is framed by a wide stretch of glorious golden sand.
The day pass offers access to the beach and outdoor swimming pools (there are three), with sun lounges and towels included. Yes, unlimited food and drinks are included as well, but the resort recommends checking in at reception to find out which restaurants or bars are included in the package for that day. The Kids Club is also open to day pass purchasers, and since tickets are half-price for kids, this is a great family-friendly option.
Paseo Malecón San José 9, Zona Hotelera, San José del Cabo, (624) 142-9292, Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos.

If you love surfing in Los Cabos, then you know the best wintertime breaks are off Pacific side beaches like Los Cerritos, San Pedrito and La Pastora. The first, commonly known as Cerritos, is a long-time favorite of locals; not just for the surfing, but as a tranquilo weekend getaway from Cabo San Lucas. The surfing is excellent here, however, and it’s the inspiration for Cerritos Surf Town Hotel & Spa – the best day pass destination on the beach.
Like many “Cabo day pass” options, this one comes with a food and drink credit ($20), plus access to the swimming pool and hot tub. Shaded tables overlook the beach, and extras like surf lessons and board rentals are available for those who don’t mind leaving the comfort of the pool for more active pastimes in a far larger pool (AKA, the Pacific Ocean). Bring your dog if you like. This is one of the best dog-friendly beaches in the area, and the resort welcomes four-legged guests.
The sunsets are amazing here, so don’t leave too early.
Hwy. 19 Km. 67, Playa Los Cerritos, El Pescadero, (624) 160-0881, Cerritos Surf Town.

Those who’ve spent time on Los Cabos’ East Cape may already be familiar with this benchmark family-owned property, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021. Certainly those who follow the local fishing scene will know the name, since the resort plays host to Bisbee’s annual East Cape Offshore each August.
But if you don’t know it, here’s why you should get acquainted. Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort is built on underground thermal hot springs, which fuels the excellent “must try” onsite hot tub. This beautifully landscaped resort has much more to offer day pass visitors, however, from the secluded beach and large pool area to picturesque seating at El Navegante – the onsite restaurant – where menu items are likely as not made from family recipes handed down for generations.
A $20 credit on food and drink is included with the day pass price, and kids will appreciate the gazebo-set pool (billiards) and ping pong tables. Speaking of kids, everything is half price for those ages 11 and younger ($15 for the day pass/$10 food and drink credit).
105 Hwy. 1, Spa Buenavista, Buenavista, East Cape, (624) 142-0099, Hotel Buena Vista Resort.

As of May 2, 2023:
In this case, since the exchange rate on May 2, 2023, is 18.03 MXN to 1 USD, it would generally be more advantageous to choose to pay in Mexican Pesos (MXN) when using a credit card in Los Cabos.
When you pay with your credit card in a foreign country, your credit card company will typically apply an exchange rate to convert the transaction amount to your home currency, and they may also charge a foreign transaction fee. If you choose to pay in USD, the merchant may also apply their own exchange rate, which may not be as favorable as the official exchange rate.
Therefore, if you choose to pay in MXN, you will usually get the most favorable exchange rate, and you will avoid any additional fees or markups that may be applied by the merchant or your credit card company.
Of course, you should always check with your credit card company to confirm their policies and any fees associated with foreign transactions, as well as keep an eye out for any conversion options presented by the merchant that may be more beneficial.
Hope this information was helpful and enjoy your stay in Cabo San Lucas!

]]>The post Los Cabos to Close 2022 with Historic 20% Growth in Tourism appeared first on CaboViVO.
]]>The Los Cabos Tourism Board has announced an unprecedented growth in tourism arrivals expected by the end of 2022, with more than 3.3 million visitors. That’s a better than 20% projected growth when compared to 2021, and a 32% compounded growth over the last five years, with 800 thousand more passengers than 2017. Los Cabos’ steady year-over-year growth is the result of the destination’s flexible business model, the high quality of services, its safety and security approach, and integration of its private and public sectors to strengthen international promotional efforts.
Los Cabos has over 1.3 million seats from the United States scheduled for the next six months (October 2022 to March 2023), representing a 35.2% increase when compared to the same period in 2019. In the Canadian market, the destination also projected 19.3% more available seats for the next six months, and in the domestic market the increase in available seats is 95.8%, both compared to the same period in 2019.

With a renewed vision, dynamic marketing programs, and an updated tourism offering, Los Cabos is reinvigorating its wellness and sustainability offering. The destination has been a long-standing pioneer in luxury travel, personalized service, and unique travel experiences. With the pandemic, Los Cabos took on another challenge to reimagine travel by centering the local community and the environment at the core of everything they do. From optimizing resources dedicated to investment in hotel infrastructure and protecting its natural ecosystems to creating community programs and ensuring the equal growth, development, and well-being of the local population, Los Cabos is focusing on its next chapter as a sustainable destination.
“As Los Cabos’ tourism is on a steep rise, it is not lost on us that our destination increasingly requires more care and protection,” said Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “We take a holistic approach in the sustainability of Los Cabos. Sustainability is no longer about small practices we are implementing, but rather a guiding principle on the type of destination we want to be as we care for the environment, community, culture and more.”
Across the destination, resorts and tourism-based companies are committing to the environment, making sustainability a focus of their business model.

An increased number of travelers continue to select Los Cabos as a destination not only to disconnect from their busy lives, but also to re-connect with nature given the range of authentic experiences available.

With more than 1,500 new hotel rooms expected from 2022-2024, Los Cabos continues to attract renowned hotel brands.

In Los Cabos, most gastronomic experiences are born out of a desire to source locally and highlight the heritage of the area without sacrificing taste.

To allow tourists to virtually experience Los Cabos even before they travel, the destination is launching an immersive aerial-to-ground experience featuring 3D effects and ambient sounds that emulate the destination’s real-life environment. Los Cabos is the first destination in Latin America to implement this immersive technology with the goal of capturing new audiences that are ready to adopt Web3 and Metaverse technologies. ]]>The post Quivira Adds Beach Club Amenity to Bolster its Cabo San Lucas Real Estate Offerings appeared first on CaboViVO.
]]>The $6.2 million Beach Club was greeted by more than 500 guests, including real estate agents, owners of residential developments, members, and media. The Beach Club, with a capacity of 110 people, has been designed as an exclusive amenity for residents of Quivira Los Cabos and their guests. The unique outdoor environment offers a large swimming pool, a terrace on the edge of the beach, bathrooms with showers and dressing rooms, a fully equipped gym, green areas for special events, and a one-of-a-kind sailboat-shaped cinema where movies are projected on an awning on one of its sails.
The restaurant-bar La Concha—its design inspired by the shells of the olive ridley turtles that come to the nearby beach to lay their eggs—faces the sea as does the poolside lounge area. The menu is available in both areas and includes ceviche, salads, snacks, refreshing drinks, and cocktails.

Ernesto Coppel, Founder of Quivira Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts, officially opened the club by saying, “The unique and differentiated residential offerings that we have created are part of our Quivira Los Cabos signature brand. Each community has different characteristics, but all offer privacy, exclusivity, lifestyle amenities, and quality of service.”
While celebrating the Beach Club’s opening, it also was announced that some of the local residential developments are complete, including Copala, Alvar, Coronado, and Mavila. New real estate projects are in the planning and construction phases, including Old Lighthouse Club and The Residences at The St. Regis Los Cabos.
Quivira, Mexico’s premier luxury residential resort community, is situated on the Pacific Coast of Cabo San Lucas, with more than three miles of pristine golden beaches, picturesque desert cliffs, and panoramic ocean views. This exclusive 1,850-acre master-planned community is a paradise of elegance, serenity, and service. Access to Quivira Golf Club is exclusive for owners of property at Quivira. Occupying a spectacular natural landscape, Quivira Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, is complemented by an exclusive oceanfront clubhouse and now, The Beach Club.

]]>The post Turkey Time – Where to Enjoy Thanksgiving in Cabo in 2022 appeared first on CaboViVO.
]]>So trust us: there’s no need to worry about getting enough turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie in Los Cabos this year. Many of the local restaurants popular with tourists will be whipping up multi-course menus with all the familiar favorites. The difference is, unlike dinner at grandma’s house, there may be a mixologist, sommelier or master tequilier on hand to offer pairing suggestions.
With that in mind, here are a few of our favorite Thanksgiving dinner options in Los Cabos for 2022. NOTE: Thanksgiving dinner reservations are highly recommended for all of these restaurants.

Solomon’s Landing is a long-time fixture on the Cabo San Lucas marina boardwalk, thanks to the congenial waterfront atmosphere and New Orleans trained chef Brian Solomon’s facility with the fresh and abundant local seafood. But popular as this restaurant is, rarely is it busier than Thanksgiving evening, when crowds spill out in front of the restaurant waiting for a table to open up. This year, Solomon’s is serving up a four-course Thanksgiving menu priced at $35 for adults, $20 for children aged 11 and under. The main course is juicy turkey and gravy, with stuffing, sautéed green beans with slivers of almond, cranberry sauce and homemade candied yams. Preceding the feast are soup (clam chowder in a bread bowl or house salad and garlic bread with parmesan cheese; following is a choice of pumpkin pie or apple pie a la mode. Early birds in the 4 to 6 p.m. window get 10% off and a free glass of wine.
Solomon’s Landing, Cabo San Lucas Marina (behind Tesoro Los Cabos), Cabo San Lucas, Solomon’s Landing (624) 219-3228.

During its 18-year history in Cabo San Lucas, Salvatore G’s (formerly known as Salvatore’s) has become famous for three things: great Italian food, huge portions, and terrific service. All except the Italian food will be featured in their annual Thanksgiving feast, which costs $39 per person in 2022 – up from previous years, but still reasonable given the enormous portions. They don’t mind if couples share a single entrée either. The holiday menu this year includes turkey (white and dark meat), stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, as well as a starter of their popular Mista salad (mixed greens, Roma tomatoes and red onions topped with parmigiano cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette), plus bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar, of course.
For a drink before dinner, stop across the street at Fenway Bar, a unique sports bar concept whose décor and accents all pay tribute to the history of the Boston Red Sox. NFL games are always shown as well, though, so this is a great pit stop to check up on all the Thanksgiving day games.
Salvatore G’s, Calle Emiliano Zapata, Col. Centro, Cabo San Lucas, Salvatore G’s Italian Restaurant (624) 105-1044.

Los Cabos has had a few good BBQ restaurants over the years, but most have come and gone. Let’s hope Taba sticks around, both for their delicious downhome Texas style offerings, and their exceptional Thanksgiving feasts. Unlike others on this list, Taba doesn’t charge by the person, but instead offers pricing for group sizes (6 – 8, people, 12 – 16 people, or more). So if you want to pick enough food to feed a family or friends at your residence or rental, this is a great option … as is dining in, of course.
This year’s holiday menu not only features smoked turkey, but mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry bourbon BBQ sauce, and macaroni and cheese, among other mouthwatering sides.
Taba BBQ, 5 de Mayo 109, Col. Ildefonso Green, Cabo San Lucas, Taba BBQ (624) 123-9025.

Some people like a downhome Thanksgiving. Others prefer a more upscale celebration. If you’re in the latter camp, why not head for what has been one of the best resorts in México for over 50 years? Palmilla was the first resort ever built in Los Cabos, dating back to the 1950s and founder Rod Rodriguez, and continues to lead the way in luxury under the One&Only imprimatur.
Onsite steakhouse SEARED is presented by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and is one of the area’s destination dining stops for prime steak and fine wines. Thanksgiving at SEARED features four courses and the finest local and seasonal ingredients. Call for reservations or more specific info regarding the prix fixe holiday menu selections. À la carte options are also available.
