The lobby of the elegant Fisher Center was decked out for the holidays with a large Christmas tree. There was also a number of signed guitars that were for sale as possible gifts. The night began with Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child singing the National Anthem. Next, Megan Moroney in a festive white outfit accented by a green guitar presented a double shot of relationship advice with the insightful “I’m Not Pretty” along with the clever “Tennessee Orange” where a girl from Georgia meets her potential Mr. Right but finds herself wearing his team’s colors.
Chasing DaVinci are four multi-instrumentalist siblings who shined during their one song spotlight. Dustin Lynch who was serving as a cohost gave a shout out to the sponsors before he and his sizeable band performed the hit “Small Town Boy” followed by the moving “Cowboys and Angels” which was penned for his grandparents.
Co-host Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”) did justice to “Landslide” (Fleetwood Mac cover) before the War Hippies played the powerful “Make It Out Alive” – a real sentiment by this talented and engaging duo who are both veterans. The rapper Lecrae shared that he comes from a military family and his performance reflected the lessons he learned from listening to their stories. Lecrae concluded his set with the idea that God is not done yet so keep on fighting.
Clint Black presented a compelling “America (Still In Love With You)” paired with “Living In The USA” sung with Lisa Hartman Black and daughter Lily Pearl Black. Charles Esten (“Nashville” TV star) shared uplifting songs of hope. Alana Springsteen’s message and music encouraged people to be true to themselves.
o Dee Messina played her break out single “Heads Carolina, Tails California” (1996) followed by a more serious tune that she penned one night upon hearing of the death of a military woman killed in battle. Lee Greenwood presented his signature song “God Bless The U.S.A.” to end the concert on a final patriotic note.
The fully produced concert of America Salutes You will air in January of 2024 on network affiliates, national cable channels and streaming services across the U. S. and internationally. The show featured an All-Star Band made up of high-profile world class recording and touring musicians led by Music Director Martin Guigui along with the aforementioned stars to honor those who serve.
The night was also dedicated to actor Gary Sinise who was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for his humanitarian work. The Gary Sinise Foundation serves by honoring America’s defenders, first responders, veterans, their families, and those in need with unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.
Over the past seven years, America Salutes You has supported over 30 charitable organizations with 100% of public donations going to non-profits. ]]>VNN is a television channel developed for Veterans, largely by Veterans. The channel is currently being used by 53 VA medical centers to help improve the Veteran experience
As part of its ongoing partnership, VA and America Salutes You presented “America Salutes You – Live” from Battleship Iowa. The concert was hosted by Paul Shaffer and featured music greats Four Tops, Robby Krieger of the Doors, Debbie Gibson, John McFee and John Cowan of the Doobie Brothers, and many others.
Partners for suicide prevention messaging
“It is an honor to partner again this year with VA to help share their messaging on Veteran mental wellness and suicide prevention,” said Bob Okun, CEO of America Salutes You. “America Salutes You continues to raise awareness and funds for a broad range of nonprofits annually assisting our men and women in uniform, our Veterans, our first responders and, of course, their families.”
VA produced videos played throughout the live performance highlighting mental health resources and safe firearm storage messages. Readjustment Counseling (Vet Centers) also supported the event by providing Veteran Outreach Program Specialists (VOPS) James Richardson from the North Orange County Vet Center and VOPS Mark Parker from the Corona Vet Center.
The Mobile Vet Center, provided by the Corona Vet Center, was able to provide confidential counseling and outreach to Veterans who attended the live event. Vet Centers provide a wide range of services to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families.
Second concert collaboration
This was the second concert collaboration between VA and America Salutes You. The first concert, “Guitar Legends 4,” featured artists Kenny Loggins, Julio Iglesias Jr., Keb Mo and others.

]]>Collaboration and partnership promoting “America Salutes You” kicks off at the Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 4th. Mike Wallace will pilot JD Motorsports’ Market Scan Chevy number 0 at the July 4th race, which will sport a patriotic race livery, incorporating “Global Walk” and “America Salutes You” logos. Media and social media campaigns will drive attention to cause related content, which will benefit veterans, first responders and their families.

Danny Garcia’s “Honor Walk 2020” will end on October 29th at “America Salutes You” benefit concert at The Grand Ole Opry, where Danny will be honored.
Who’s Danny?
Danny Garcia is a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran, former law enforcement, and ordained minister. He has been walking since 1996: 52 million steps on six continents. Through Global Walk, Danny seeks to instill international understanding, establish goodwill and build sustainable peace. The Honor Walk 2020 project thanks and raises funds for veterans, first responders & their families.
Honor Walk 2020
Between July 4 and October 29, 2020, Danny will travel in increments of 25 – 50 miles a day in phases. Phases consist of symbolic walking in major U.S. cities and Danny is being driven to the next stop in an RV.
The RV will be decorated to mimic Market Scan Chevy number 0.
Media attention will be focused on featuring Danny walking in a host of cities, the “Honor Walk 2020” route will cover. Social Media activity will emphasize patriotic, cause related and worthy charity fundraising efforts.

We’re going to give Danny a festive send-off with the support he deserves – and we want you to join us! We promise – this will be patriotic, and fun for everyone.
What’s in store: We’re going to have a formal ceremony, celebrating Danny and “Stars and Stripes”, which we would like you to join us for at 6:45pm. Gaffney, S.C. (May 29, 2020) – Market Scan Information Systems, Inc., an automotive industry-leading automotive solutions and data provider based in Camarillo, Calif, has teamed up with Mike Wallace and JD Motorsports’ No. 0 Chevrolet for the inaugural Xfinity Series race on July 4 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Wallace, the younger brother of NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace and older brother of Kenny Wallace, is reuniting with JD Motorsports for this historic event. With an impressive 691 NASCAR races under his belt, this marks the St. Louis native’s first NASCAR start since 2015. This time, he takes the driver’s seat to make a difference in the lives of others.
“This marks my first race in five years,” Wallace said. “During that time, I have had plenty of time to reflect and look back at a long and successful career. I am grateful for what I have been able to accomplish. My triple-bypass surgery in 2015 changed my outlook on life. At this point in my career I still have an appetite for racing, but I am also committed to giving back whenever possible.”
“JD Motorsports owner Johnny Davis has given me an opportunity to be part of the inaugural Xfinity Series race on the road course, which is the first race on that track under Roger Penske’s stewardship. Having an opportunity to pilot the Market Scan Chevrolet is very cool and promises to be incredibly special.”

Rusty West is Co-Founder and President of Market Scan Information Systems, which he owns and operates. West’s passion for racing, himself an accomplished racer, turned out to be superbly aligned with the values and interests of both Mike Wallace and Johnny Davis.

It turned out that Wallace and West have something special in common: both of their fathers, who were the patriarchs of their respective family businesses, were named Russell. To honor and commemorate their fathers, both Russell Wallace and Russell West will be graphically depicted and featured on the Market Scan Chevrolet, which will sport an eye-catching, patriotic paint scheme.
The collaboration between Wallace and West is focused on supporting charities that honor and celebrate our veterans, service members and first responders. The promotional focus and associated fundraising will help make a difference in these individuals’ lives and promote sustainable peace internationally. Specific benefactors are charities associated with “Global Walk” and “America Salutes You” initiatives.
Global Walk is led by Daniel Garcia, “The Walking Man”. Danny was born in Spanish Harlem and served in the US Marine Corps and a host of law enforcement functions. Since 1996, Danny has walked more than 52 million steps on six continents for children and world peace. Through Global Walk, Danny seeks to instill international understanding, establish goodwill and build sustainable peace.
Garcia’s walks have always started with a song. Grammy Award nominee Bruce Stephen Foster co-wrote a song, “One Night of Peace”, in collaboration with Richie Sambora, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi. One Night of Peace has literally been part of every step Garcia has taken on his journey around the world. The walk kicking off on July 4 will introduce and feature a new song by Bruce Stephen Foster titled “America Salutes You.” Garcia’s vision is to take this song around the world as he prays and walks for veterans, first responders and their families.
He recognizes the power of healing through music and how it is a conduit to remind us how we are all intrinsically connected as humans. The Fourth of July race kicks-off a four-month walk. Garcia’s journey will be promoted nationally and culminate on October 29 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville at the “Guitar Legends 4” benefit concert, slated to honor Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top & Legends.
The concert is produced by America Salutes You, whose mission it is to raise awareness and funds for extraordinary wellness charities, assisting military and veterans. Those initiatives include promoting the US Department of Veterans Affairs’ efforts to provide access, support and services that ensure veterans’ health and quality of life.
