Dealer #868 | Florence Lane | Case #4 | Wall Spaces Throughout the Mall
Bart and Linda Lester have been part of Antique World Mall almost since its beginning. They joined the mall in 2001 after a short stint running their own shop—and discovering that they weren’t really shopkeepers. They would much rather be out hunting for treasures than sitting around waiting to sell them.
For Bart, antiques have always been a part of life. His father was in the business, as was his grandfather, who used to follow the local trash routes looking for interesting things that others had discarded. Apparently, the instinct to rescue a good find runs in the family.
In the early 1970s, Bart bought an antique store in Idaho City called Goldie’s Trash & Treasure. Since he didn’t think he looked much like a Goldie—and wasn’t quite sure what else to call the store—he took inspiration from the notorious California stagecoach robber Black Bart, who made the unfortunate career choice of robbing Wells Fargo.
And so, Black Bart’s Antiques was born.
When Bart and Linda married in 1986, Linda joined him in his antique adventures. Unlike Bart, she hadn’t grown up around antiques and had a lot to learn. They enjoyed going to yard sales together, but Linda rarely picked up anything unless it was something they could use in their own home. Finally, Bart told her to find something she liked and make it her own part of the business.
Linda had loved jewelry since childhood, so jewelry it was. She began learning about antique and vintage jewelry, studying costume jewelry makers and discovering how to recognize a good piece when she found one. Over the years, her interests expanded to include fur coats, figurines, and especially what she describes as “anything with a face on it.”
She is fascinated by the fact that people can look so completely different from one another while being made up of essentially the same features—two eyes, a nose, a mouth, and two ears. Linda also majored in art at Boise State University and has a great appreciation for good art pieces.
Bart’s interests, meanwhile, are a little harder to contain.
He loves old woodworking tools, hammers, axes, kerosene lanterns, knives, and just about anything else that catches his eye. That variety is reflected in their spaces at Antique World Mall. When Bart finds something interesting, there is always a chance it will eventually make its way into the store.
Of course, many of his best finds never quite make it that far.
Today, Black Bart’s Antiques, Dealer #868, doesn’t fit neatly into any one category—and that’s part of the fun. Bart and Linda have a booth on Florence Lane, Case #4 near the front of the store, and wall spaces located throughout Antique World Mall and around their booth.
On any given visit, you might find kitchenware, glassware, figurines, toys, handbags, fur coats, jewelry, tools, artwork—or something neither of them was expecting to bring home in the first place.
It’s a collection of things that caught Bart or Linda’s eye somewhere along the way. Some are practical, some are beautiful, some are unusual, and some are simply too interesting to leave behind.
After decades of buying, selling, collecting, and treasure hunting, Bart and Linda still enjoy the part of the antique business that drew them to it in the first place:

Dealer Spotlight: Colorful Nostalgia with Dealer #850
Step into the bright, playful world of Dealer #850, located on Budapest Lane and in Case #21 on Antwerp Lane at Antique World Mall.
“I should have known this would happen to me!” says Dealer #850, who grew up surrounded by parents who collected and loved antiques. That early influence inspired a lifelong love of collecting—beginning with stickers, trolls, stuffed animals, Polly Pockets, McDonald’s toys, and Beanie Babies.
As the years passed, those childhood collections expanded to include CDs and wonderfully wild jewelry. “What can I say? I’m a ’90s kid!”
With plenty of encouragement and help from her biggest enablers—also known as her parents—she opened her first vintage booth around 2014 and has been going strong ever since. As her many collections have grown, her booth has become the perfect place to share the pieces she is finally ready to part with and allow someone else to enjoy them.
Her style is best described as kitschy, colorful, eclectic, and sometimes delightfully obnoxious. Much of that style was inspired by her teenage bedroom, which featured an orange iron bed, a shag rug, road signs and posters covering splatter-painted walls, and Abercrombie bags—you know the ones—tacked to the ceiling.
Today, she brings that same sense of color, nostalgia, individuality, and fun to her spaces at Antique World Mall. Shoppers may discover funky clothing, colorful jewelry, the perfect cat figurine, a whimsical trinket box, a funny mug, or another unexpected treasure that brings back a favorite memory.

From a Creek Bank Discovery to a Lifetime of Collecting: Meet Warren & Alice of Woody’s Antiques (Case #62)
Every antique has a story—but sometimes the collector’s story is just as fascinating as the treasures they find.
For Warren and Alice, owners of Woody’s Antiques at Case #62 in Antique World Mall, their journey into the world of antiques began not in a shop, but in a quiet California creek more than five decades ago.
One Bottle Changed Everything
In 1968, twelve-year-old Warren was exploring a creek behind his parents’ home in Saratoga, California, when he noticed something unusual protruding from the creek bank. Curious, he pulled it free to discover an antique bottle buried beneath the soil.
That simple moment sparked a lifelong passion.
Soon after, Warren joined the San Jose Bottle Club, where experienced collectors introduced him to the rich history of antique bottles, primitive Americana, and the excitement of uncovering pieces of the past. What started as a childhood curiosity quickly grew into a serious appreciation for American history through the objects people once used every day.
A Shared Passion
In 1975, Warren met Alice while attending West Valley College. Their shared appreciation for history and adventure quickly became the foundation of both their relationship and their collecting journey.
Together they explored Gold Rush-era bottle dumps throughout San Francisco, searching for forgotten relics hidden beneath the ground. They also developed a love for early decorated stoneware and began furnishing their first apartment with authentic early American furniture and antiques they had discovered themselves.
For Warren and Alice, collecting wasn’t simply decorating—it was preserving history and giving forgotten treasures a second life.
Digging Into California’s Gold Rush History
Over the years, the couple uncovered some truly remarkable artifacts.
Among their favorite discoveries were an 1860 San Francisco-minted $3 gold coin and a beautiful cobalt blue Dr. Wynkoop’s Sarsaparilla bottle dating to 1848—pieces that represent an exciting chapter in California’s Gold Rush history.
Their passion even led them to work with Archeo Tech, helping recover Gold Rush artifacts from construction sites before they were lost forever. Many of these recovered pieces found their way into local museum collections, helping preserve California’s early history for future generations.
It’s experiences like these that make every item in their collection more than just an antique—it becomes part of a larger historical story.
Still Chasing History
Today, Warren and Alice are retired, but retirement hasn’t slowed their enthusiasm for the hunt.
Estate sales, antique shops, flea markets, and hidden treasures still call their names. Every outing holds the possibility of discovering another unique piece of America’s past, and that excitement remains as strong today as it was when Warren found his very first bottle.
Their collection continues to grow through years of knowledge, patience, and an appreciation for quality craftsmanship and historical significance.

At Antique World Mall, every dealer has a unique story, and Dealer #894, On New York Lane, is no exception.
Dan and Marianne Scott have called Boise home for many years and recently celebrated an incredible milestone—61 years of marriage. Since joining Antique World Mall in 2008, they’ve shared their love of vintage treasures with customers from near and far.
Interestingly, their journey into selling antiques began with a simple goal: to get rid of a few extra items around the house. As often happens with collectors, one thing led to another, and before long they had accumulated ten times as much! What started as downsizing became a rewarding hobby and a wonderful way to connect with others who appreciate quality craftsmanship and timeless design.
Their booth specializes in an impressive assortment of vintage lighting, including table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, and unique light fixtures. Dan has also spent countless hours repairing and refurbishing many of these pieces, preserving their beauty while ensuring they can continue to brighten homes for years to come.

Dealer Spotlight: Sandi – Dealer #906
At Antique World Mall, every dealer brings a unique story, passion, and perspective to their space. For Dealer #906, Sandi, creativity and collecting have been lifelong companions, shaping both her career and her approach to vintage treasures.
Art has been part of Sandi’s life from the very beginning. In fact, her parents met while attending art school, creating a family environment where creativity was always encouraged. As her interests developed, she explored a variety of artistic disciplines, studying watercolor painting, weaving, screen printing, and other mediums throughout college. Her artistic background eventually led her into visual merchandising, interior displays, and window design—skills that continue to influence the beautiful and inspiring atmosphere of her booth today.
In 2010, Sandi embarked on an exciting new venture with her best friend, a friendship that began back in seventh grade. Together, they opened a small vintage shop, combining their shared love of treasure hunting with a passion for creating memorable shopping experiences. Over the years, they became involved with four different vintage shops, each offering new opportunities to refine their style and showcase unique finds.
One of the highlights of Sandi’s vintage journey came when they were offered a coveted space at Portland’s renowned Monticello Antique Marketplace. There, she discovered that collecting vintage treasures was only part of what she loved. Equally rewarding was creating distinctive visual environments that showcased each piece and inspired visitors with fresh decorating ideas. The thrill of discovering hidden gems and transforming them into beautiful displays became a true passion.
When Sandi relocated to Idaho in 2020, she began a new chapter. Like many people, the pandemic temporarily paused plans and opportunities. Once businesses began reopening, however, she resumed her search for the perfect place to continue sharing her love of vintage décor and antiques. Her experience at Monticello helped open the door to Antique World Mall, where she found a welcoming community and a space to continue doing what she loves.
Visitors to Booth #906 quickly learn that no two visits are quite the same. Sandi frequently transforms her booth to reflect the seasons, holidays, current trends, or simply a new burst of inspiration. This constant evolution keeps her creative spirit energized while offering customers fresh displays, new ideas, and exciting treasures to discover throughout the year.

At Antique World Mall, every booth has a story and Mrs. P’s Country Collections is one built on decades of creativity, craftsmanship, and a true love for the treasure hunt.
Located in Booth #832 on New York Lane, Mrs. P’s Country Collections brings together vintage charm, restored treasures, and carefully selected finds gathered from years of antiquing adventures across the West Coast and beyond.
A Family Passion That Started in 1984
The story began in 1984 when Mrs. P and her husband Chris started a woodworking and homemade craft business called Mrs. P’s Country Collections. In the early years, the couple traveled to street fairs and boutique shows selling handcrafted creations while building a business centered around creativity and hard work.
As time went on, their interests naturally expanded into refurbished and restored vintage items. Their growing passion for antiques led them into several antique stores throughout Southern California, where they discovered a love for giving old treasures new life.
Later, the family relocated to California’s Central Coast, where they became involved with an antique gift shop in Paso Robles for 14 years before eventually making the move to Idaho in 2019.
Joining the Antique World Mall Family
After moving to Idaho, their daughter Deanne already a dealer at Antique World Mall encouraged them to join the mall family as well.
“We were delighted to join her,” Mrs. P shared.
Today, the booth has truly become a family effort. Mrs. P, Chris, and Deanne all work together searching for unusual and unique items through flea markets, estate sales, yard sales, and buying trips throughout the region. The family has even made special sourcing trips to Portland, Oregon in search of fresh vintage treasures to bring back to Booth #832.
