The post Gamescom ’24: Borderlands 4 is official, coming to consoles and PC in 2025 appeared first on BrutalGamer.
]]>Okay, so we all know that the Borderlands movie isn’t exactly burning it up at the box office. But even so, we’re going to guess that fans won’t let that ruin the huge news that’s just been revealed at the Gamescom show. And that is that Take-Two and Gearbox have officially revealed Borderlands 4, coming to consoles and the PC next year.
The new title will send players back into action for more lootin’ and shootin’ as a Vault Hunter, but don’t assume you’ll be heading to Pandora. Nope, the planet of the previous Borderlands titles is apparently history for Borderlands 4, as there’ll be a whole new world to play in.
That’s not all either, as Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is teasing that this new adventure will include some fresh directions for the series, plus upgrades to what fans might be used to from legacy titles.
“The team and I at Gearbox have a lot we’ve wanted to do with Borderlands since we first introduced the looter shooter genre to the world with our original game,” said Randy Pitchford, founder and President of the Gearbox Entertainment Company. “All of us at Gearbox have massive ambitions for Borderlands 4 and are putting everything we have into making everything we love about Borderlands better than ever before while taking the game to new levels in exciting new directions.”
2K Games press release
There’s no release date yet for Borderlands 4, but we do know that it’ll be landing some time in 2025, and little more specifically in Take-Two’s Fiscal Year of 2026. No, that doesn’t narrow it down a ton, but it’s something at least.
When it does arrive, expect to see Borderlands 4 ready to roll for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

]]>Sure Pandora is the planet in that other sci-fi epic that’s about to become a saga, but don’t forget about the video game world of the same name. Gearbox’ world of insane action, looting, and Vault Hunters might just be about to make a massive return as well.
That’s coming in the form of a new game of course, but there’ll be some merchandise to go along with it. And today, news of that comes in the form of Dark Horse Comics’ latest “encyclopedia and de facto guide.”
The Worlds of Borderlands features art and trivia related to the guns, vehicles, ships, companies, and adventurers of the world-spanning Borderlands universe. Developed by Gearbox Software, the Borderlands game series is rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB. Titles in the series are available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation® consoles, and on PC through the Steam and EPIC games stores. ]]>“Godfall: Ultimate Edition is the culmination of the hard work our team has poured into this game since launch. It’s our love letter to all our players, and to those on Xbox and Steam who’ve been looking forward to playing it,” said Keith Lee, CEO at Counterplay Games. “Our team put in amazing work on this free Exalted Update containing fresh content and key improvements players have passionately asked for. We can’t wait for players new and old to experience the main game story enhancements, feel the full impact of the Valorplates’ new Shard system, and tinker to their heart’s content with the addition of loadouts. This is THE version we’ve always hoped you’d get to experience.”
Keith Lee, CEO at Counterplay Games
Godfall: Ultimate Edition includes a lot of extra content that the original launch didn’t. A lot. In fact, it’s too much to bullet, so you’ll find the full list below, popped out from the press release. Maybe just grab a drink or a snack or something before you start reading.
Choose from among 12 unique Valorplates, each with diverse powers and collectable Valorplate Shards that can be upgraded as you level up, unlocking Ascendant and Exalted Valorplates. Master all five weapon classes, each with their own play styles and a variety of longswords, polearms, warhammers, greatswords, and dual blades. Once you’ve reached level 50, power up beyond the level cap to obtain new Ascension Powers and bonuses.
Adventure across the three elemental realms of Aperion alone or with up to two other players as you battle towards the final confrontation with the twisted fallen knight, Macros. Then take on Moirax and the Flameblood Tribe in the deadly Fire Realm from the Fire & Darkness Expansion. The Exalted Update brings a host of story updates and enhancements making the experience more immersive than ever.
There is no shortage of awesome loot to obtain in Godfall. Customize and save up to three loadouts for each Valorplate, continue experimenting until you’ve found the ultimate build befitting a god!
Matchmake with up to two other players to challenge unique endgame modes such as Dreamstones, Tower of Trials, Lightbringer, and the six-player Spirit Realms. Test your limits against increasingly ferocious enemies in the Ascended or Exalted Tower of Trials, all in the pursuit of legendary gear.
Godfall features cross-gen matchmaking for players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and for players on PlayStation 4 and 5. Players on Steam and Epic Games Store can also matchmake together.
All players have the option to immediately jump to Player Level 50, which comes with a plethora of skill points and a spread of deadly weapons for your Valorplates. This allows you to immediately jump into endgame activities, or catch up to friends if you got a late start.
The free Exalted Update, which launches alongside Godfall: Ultimate Edition on April 7, includes a slew of fan-requested features and enhancements. Combat is faster and more fluid with a knockdown recovery skill; inventory management is more streamlined and robust; the story experience has been enhanced, and there are now dozens of new weapons and shield cosmetics to unlock.
Experience Godfall’s stunning visuals like never before with next-gen enhancements such as 120hz Mode, Variable Refresh Rate and Dolby Vision for HDR-capable displays, resulting in brighter highlights, sharper contrast, and more vibrant colors.

]]>Released at the launch of the new generation of consoles last month, publisher Gearbox’ Godfall didn’t make quite the impact they probably hoped. The game wasn’t met with much enthusiasm, despite looking terrific, and had a bunch of technical issues. But all of that might be on the way to being rectified, thanks to some community feedback.
According to Gearbox, they’ve been listening to customers and taking their commentary to heart. That’s resulted in a host of “quality of life” improvements that’ve just arrived for Godfall.
Those are the highlights, but you can read about the update in full here on Gearbox’ forums. And if you’ve so-far been holding off on actually buying into the game, then you might also be interested in hearing about some Holiday deals.
Just revealed, there are a bunch of limited-time offers hitting for both the console and PC versions of Godfall.

]]>Godfall is set in Aperion, a land on the precipice of ruin, and you are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat. Tear through foes as you climb through the elemental realms and challenge the mad god, Macros, who awaits you at the top.
…
“Bringing a new world to life and a new IP to gamers has been a real driving force throughout the development of Godfall,” said Keith Lee, CEO of Counterplay Games. “We can’t wait to see how players tinker with their loadouts to allow their unique playstyles to shine as they fight through the beautiful world of Aperion.”
Godfall press release
Godfall is available now in “select markets” for the PS5, and for the PC. The rest of the PS5-owning globe will get their copies on the 19th.

]]>Have you been following along with Godfall? Announced not that long ago, the PS5’s (and PC via Epic) Godfall is looking great, but doesn’t seem to have gotten much in the way of press.
So just in case you haven’t seen it yet:

]]>This weekend’s PAX Online show gave fans excited for Gearbox’ latest reason to be happy. The new game, entitled Godfall, is looking pretty interesting indeed, and got not one but two new looks at the kinda/sorta-con.
Those came in the form of a trailer displaying the combat in the game, which looks interesting. Melee-based, battles looks like they’ll be tense affairs, with players needing to exploit weakpoints to succeed.
Gearbox says that they’ll be going into those weak points, as well as “polarity attacks, archon mode, unique weapon class moves and more” soon. For now though, you can check it all out in motion in the trailer below.
As for the second trailer, that one’s a little shorter, and shows off Aegishorn. What’s that? Why it’s a new character… or armor… or something. Just watch.
There was some pre-order info talked about as well, though only for the PC version of Godfall. As you might be aware, the game will also be appearing on the PS5, as a console exclusive, there that release info is still coming up.
PC gamers though, can look forward to Godfall hitting the Epic Games Store some time this Holiday. And if you’re buying in, then you’ll be doing so by grabbing one of these:
On top of what you see above, all Godfall pre-orders on Epic will be stocked with some extras. Those include:
