Well, all good things must come to an end, they say. So why is THIS ending? We haven't been good at anything since high school and, even then, it was all relative. But I digress. Due to other interests, personal calamities and plain old burn out, we've come to the end of the show FOR NOW. Maybe forever, but probably not. We thank all of you for listening regularly and telling your friends about the show. It really does make us feel good to see our numbers grow over the course of the year. We ended last month with over 48,000 downloads on our RSS feed. Not too shabby for one month.

We'd also like to thank Sophia Eptamenitis for the good work finding us guests in this last season. We're looking forward to working with her on our future projects. And who could forget Chester and Rodney from "Down the Hall Podcast" for their friendship and dedication to coming on our show and promoting it

And speaking of guests, we can't say "good-bye" without thanking all the people who have deigned to come on our piddly little show for an interview. Here in Jersey (maybe you have them in other states as well) our teachers union has a convention in the beginning of November. Everyone has a long weekend. Few teachers attend. Yet one brave teacher had the audacity to criticize parents for taking an extra day or two to pull their children out of school this week for a family vacation. This teacher is brave an audacious because he, like 99% of teachers here, takes the days off but does not attend the convention for which the days off are afforded. Yet, parents stealing time with their children are the real criminals. Where do you stand on the issue?

EJ Koelsch (pronounced "kelsh". I know, right?) of The Revolution Radio Show, had a Facebook debate with Matt a few days ago about 9-11 Conspiracy Theories and leprechauns. EJ suggested Matt have him on the show to discuss it rather than write it. So here he is.

9-11 was a major event for the United States and the people who lived through it, especially in the New York/New Jersey area-- just cuz we're better than the rest of the country and, therefore our pain and grief and struggles are just better than that which is felt anywhere else (just kidding). From that day, almost immediately, as usual, conspiracy theories started. Alex Jones and the amateurish "documentary" Loose Change, really did their part to get the ball rolling. All we know is that there's so much to know about the event that we don't know what the hell happned or who the hell to believe.

This isn't a boring, academic-type conversation. It's very real and not always serious. That's the closest thing to a warning you're going to get. We don't coddle our audience.

What Exit? introduces two Jersey Girls and longtime friends Tina and Lexi. Tina is a true Italian Jersey Girl with big dreams of a fantasy wedding. Unfortunately Tina's fiancée breaks up with her on New Year's Eve. Lexi, her longtime friend, escaped to New York City, where she works in finance, dates guys with potential, and relishes her independence. It doesn't last long. When her firm downsizes, Lexi is forced to move home with her parents to work at her family's Greek diner. The series follows the friends on their quest for love, a fulfilling career, plus independence from meddling ethnic family members.

What Exit? was shot on location in northern New Jersey and New York City with a local cast and crew. Season 2 episodes recently added in May 2015 starring: Jessica Carollo as Tina, Alicia Giangrisostomi as Lexi (recast), and Matthew Knowland as Evan.

And now, you've got nothing exciting to do except nurse your sore back after shoveling through the mid-day. Or maybe you're heading back to work after spending your snow day building forts and sleigh riding with your kids (if you have kids who actually sleigh ride and don't just do it on their iPads). It's time to get back to the things that really matter in your life: escaping it by listening to Checked Out In Jersey. Did you see the debate between Bernard Sanders and Ted Cruz? Matt and Pete happened to be driving when it came on the radio and they learned a very interesting fact about Ted Cruz's dad's piggy bank.

Joy Villa, a name we've never heard before, shot to stardom because of a simple blue dress. No, not the same blue dress that made Monica Lewinksy a household name, but a blue dress with what some would consider an equally prurient stain on it.

And finally, Valentine's Day. Seriously? Can we stop pretending we're doing anything special by doing the same thing as everybody else on one day? Isn't it about time we told Hallmark to stop tricking us and we create our own Valentine's Days that are as unique and personal as the couples creating them? The answer is yes and there is no argument.

Twenty some-odd years ago, a great sports hero and slapstick-comedy-movie actor by the name of Orenthal James "OJ" Simpson nearly decapitated his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her stabbed her young-stud boy toy, Ron Goldman, to death outside of Nicole's home. The following year-and-change was full of wall-to-wall media coverage of his arrest and trial, making overnight celebrities out of lawyers, a judge and many TV personalities that we are still stuck with today.

FX has just begun running a 5-part mini-series called "The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story" . Many are saying it's good. Yet in the same breath, they are saying it's also weird. David Schwimmer, "Ross" from "Friends" as the man who spawned the evil known as Kim, Khloe and that other Kardashian into the world? Not really buying that anywhere beyond the streak of grey in his hair. And John Travolta as Robert Shapiro? Come on. He looks more like some closeted homosexual Scientologist dressed as a Jewish Geisha girl than Bobby "Legal Zoom" Shapiro. But, whatever. It's Hollywood. We don't know if the correct word to describe this is "good", but it is inarguably compelling. Especially for those of us who lived through it and remember it like it was yesterday. Regardless of all that, we tackle the task of analyzing the film and reminiscing on the event of "The Trial of The Century" that replaced the other "Trial of The Century" involving the Lindbergh baby.

In light of all the celebrities dying, we felt compelled to create our own celebrity death pool. I mean, we need to do something to show how good we can be at predicting things. So, we argue over what the rules of the pool will be in the last segment.
