WHISKEYCAST AWARDS 92 POINTSThe popular podcast WhiskeyCast has award Cyrus Noble bourbon whiskey an impressive 92 points, saying, "This Kentucky straight Bourbon has red apples on the nose, along with raspberries, caramel, and toffee. The taste is fruity with red apples, raspberries, white pepper, honey, and vanilla. The finish is long and fruity with a hint of spice."
The San Francisco Chronicle covered the story of Cyrus Noble Bourbon Whiskey recently, highlighting our link to San Francisco history and the Gold Rush.

In yet another accolade for the 150+ year old brand, the world-renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition just awarded Cyrus Noble Bourbon a Gold Medal at the recent 2023 SFWSC judging event. One of many American whiskies to enter the fray, the quality of Cyrus Noble’s Kentucky Bourbon stood out amidst the crowded field, evaluated blindly against all other competitors in its category.
“Obviously, we’re thrilled by the recognition,” said fourth-generation Cyrus Noble owner Steven Burrows, the president of Haas Brothers; “We’re continuously re-inventing Cyrus Noble with every passing decade, and to be winning gold medals at the world’s top spirits competition, in today’s highly-competitive Bourbon market, is a sign we’re still headed in the right direction.”
The SFWSC named its medal winners this past April after a lengthy, multi-day evaluation process, delineating between hundreds of spirits brands from all over the world. Cyrus Noble would like to thank its partners at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky for continuing with our same, long-standing recipe and helping us to achieve this acknowledgment.

David Driscoll at Two Nineteen says of Cyrus Noble Bourbon Whiskey, "a brand with more authentic whiskey history than any of these newcomers could dream of" while lauding its authenticity and honesty.
He adds, "Up until recently, it was contracted from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, but a new 5+ year iteration from Bardstown Bourbon Company just down the road had my taste buds excited this past week upon sampling it.
With plenty of sweet baking spices upfront, the newest version of Cyrus Noble is balanced by toffee and peanut brittle notes with just the right amount of pepper. It’s a simple 90 proof specimen, but it’s supremely satisfying considering I paid just $34.99 at my local retailer. Yet, beyond the basic Bourbon talk, what really inspires me about the whiskey is its birthright. While other throwback labels are a fabrication and have little to do with the brand’s authentic history, Cyrus Noble is still contracted and bottled today by the same family that started it.
So why don’t more people know about it? Because, for Haas Brothers owner Steven Burrows, Cyrus Noble is more a responsibility of legacy than anything else. “I didn’t want to be the generation that dropped the ball and ended the historic run,” Steven said to me during a recent conversation; “Other than during Prohibition, Cyrus Noble Bourbon has been bottled and sold by my family for over 150 years. It’s my duty as the Haas Brothers steward to keep it alive; my obligation to my inheritance and those who did the same before me.”
