A positive reaction from client, authors and crime writing fans across the globe.
We were involved in the inception of the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival – now one of the largest in Europe – and every year since have created the brand identity and policed all areas of marketing throughout traditional print, new media and social networking helping grow this hugely popular event – it would be a crime for you to miss.

In 2008 after completing the design and production we fitted within the South Stand at Old Trafford probably our most important project to date, with the eyes of the world on the unveiling of The Munich Memorial.
Displayed the full length of the tunnel the twelve panels tell the historic story of the birth of the ‘Busby Babes’, the tragedy and the emergence of United as a force again.
Each huge lightbox panel framed in polished metal and granite frames has etched and printed acrylic, wood, and aluminium panels as well as cut out metal lettering all lit from above and below to give the best visual impact.

A positive reaction from players, staff and fans who have visited the ‘Golden Decade’ and ‘Golden Generation’ exhibition and tour.
Given broad briefs and some tight restrictions due to the infrastructure of the Headingley Stadium, we have designed, fitted and in some cases built displays that would require the flexibility to be re-sited around alternative stands, on brief, on time and on budget (we hit the nail on the head-ingley everytime).

A positive reaction from all involved at Hull FC.
We designed and created multiple imagery to compliment the teams achievements, displayed throughout the stadium.
Implemention of wall graphics to 28 corporate boxes within the KC Stadium, – on budget and on time and ready for kick off (4 weeks from start to finish) earned our stripes for the ‘tigers’.

A w0w reaction from the staff and players at Manchester United.
We created internal graphics designed and fitted at the Carrington Academy for Manchester United.
Implementing the fitting whilst the Academy was in use, required a professional clean approach, finished on schedule, – zero mess, zero disruption and zero added time (a perfect result) to the superb new facilities.

A positive reaction from everyone who works, studies or visits.
Each year we design, create and fit a new addition to the ‘Hall of fame’ at Thomas Telford School.
The impactful imagery recognises the achievements of students during the school year, giving aspiration and motivation for all those who attend.
This year, a huge 3D display was designed, produced and fixed (screwed) to the corridor area within the reception atrium.
Our use of different substraits including acrylics, wood and metals printed direct and shaped to the figures gives a very friendly and tactile feel to each display.

]]>“The world is full of beautiful fonts—choosing the right one for your next project can be a daunting task.”
When working with a digital marketing agency, it is important to be prepared to discuss fonts during the creative process. And you may hear terms like sans, serif, script, and upper and lower case – but this isn’t a bunch of mumbo jumbo, it’s science!
With over 30 years of experience, starting with metal type – young designers should google it – it has been a revelation how typography has gone full circle and is really coming back to the fore with the digital age.
No longer do we have to use the handful of fonts once only available for websites, now there are vast numbers which can be implemented to give character and individualism for your web identity allowing it to compliment the non-digital areas of marketing/advertising.
Now web developers are giving us the opportunity to choose our sizes, letterspacing and leading giving more scope to those who understand the importance of how our words look as well as read.
So why do we call them ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ case letters?
Traditionally, the capital letters were stored in a separate drawer or case that was located above the one that held the other letters; this is why capital letters are called “upper case” characters while the non-capitals are “lower case”.
Remembering the original use for those trays many now use to display nick-nacks.

Sometimes the best ideas never come to fruition – ask any designer…
Any feedback from other designers?
