Beginning in 2020, ConCarolinas started a new tradition. Each year, we will choice an influential person that has made a positive contribution to the fandom community to receive our Shrewsbury Legacy Award. The award is named after the inaugural recipient, Chris Shrewsbury, who’s been a regular guest and unforgettable personality at ConCarolinas and many other conventions. Join us at opening ceremonies as we award this year’s recipient.

Rooms at the Hilton and dealer space are sold out

The rooms at the Hilton are sold out. We are making arrangements for overflow at the Holiday Inn across the street. It is easy access, with a crosswalk with light and sidewalk right up to the Hilton.

Also, all dealer space is sold out.

Alas, there was much rejoicing!

The ConCarolinas 2022 schedule is live! It’s going to wiggle and squirm a bit over the next couple of weeks as we make updates and minor adjustments. We appreciate your patience as our volunteer staff has worked hard to plan some entertaining programming.

Sched is a handy scheduling app that can help you plan your time at ConCarolinas. The schedule will also be printed in the program books at the convention but since the books have to be printed a few weeks before the con, it may not reflect any last minute changes. Sched will be updated online all the way to June 3rd.

GAMING – You can use Sched to pre-register to play games. To do that, you must make a public profile in Sched, so we can see your name. Then, select any games that you’d like to play and you’ll get first dibs for a seat at the table. Once at the convention, you must go to the Gaming Registration table at least 15 minutes before your game to confirm that you are present and still interested.

Each year brings a new vision of CeeCee, the winged panther mascot of ConCarolinas. This year’s official artwork is provided by Ben Mirabelli. T-shirts with Ben’s artwork will be available for purchase at the convention.

Unfortunately for us, Vanessa Marshall has had to cancel her appearance at ConCarolinas. Fortunately for her, she received a gig that she couldn’t refuse. We wish her continued success with her career.

Navigating COVID-19 in 2022

ConCarolinas values the health and safety of our attendees. In order to best ensure that we maintain a Covid-19-free event, all attendees must be fully vaccinated or have a recent negative PCR test within 4 days of arrival. Proof of vaccine or negative PCR test will be required in order to pick up badges at registration. A participant will be considered fully vaccinated with two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. If you are unvaccinated, just search “PCR test near me” to find a drug store or other PCR test location that fits your schedule. At this time, local regulations have made masks optional. If you have already registered for 2022 and need to make changes to your registration based on immunization status, please contact us at concarolinas@concarolinas.org. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this seemingly never-ending pandemic!
