The evening was rounded out by a very entertaining prediction effect performed by our very own expert judges.

Thanks to all of those who participated and to Simmons and Marshal for the effort they put in to preparing the evening – it looked like you had a lot of fun doing so, and we all enjoyed the performance. 😁

Richard MacDougall lecture

Richard was amazing, as usual Some of us (no names) glazed over at his card routines in the first half, but grudgingly admitted they were beautifully done! He also demonstrated cut down versions of classics like the Gypsy Thread and Chop Cup. The second half included tips on how to connect better with an audience, so good solid stuff.

Library Night

We had a great night last night with a varied array of great magic on show, all taken from a book.

We had Joe Greenaway performing from 101 Best Card Tricks; Jason Simmons a transformation effect from Tarbell using a newspaper; Ian Thom did a cut & restored rope routine from the Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic; Graeme Marshall performed a chop cup routine inspired by Ken Brook’s Unique Years and PJ showed an excellent misers dream from JB Bobo’s Modern Coin Magic.

All very entertaining and each led to thoughtful discussions. The remaining time was given over to some mix and mingle, including a little clowning around, thanks to Ian (today’s photo courtesy of Adrian…sorry to put you off your breakfast).
