Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -5284

Hebrew translation:

Another matter. “Who arose from the east.” For from there the light begins to shine. Because the south, which is Chessed, all the strength of the light that is in it is from the east, which is Tiferet. And therefore it says, “Who aroused” the light of the south, which is Chessed, “from the east.” The east, which is Tiferet, aroused it. For it, that is Tiferet, takes and is nourished first, and afterward it gives to the six extremities(ו” ק) included in Tiferet, among which is the south, which is Chessed. And the desire of the upper firmament, that is Binah, is to bestow to the east, which is Tiferet. That is, the one that receives from Binah is Tiferet, which is the main one of the six extremities, and afterward it bestows to the extremities, for the light of Chessed is among them. And it is found that the south does not receive from Binah, but from the east. And therefore the verse says, “Who aroused from the east.”
Notes:
The light of the south, Chessed, comes from the east, Tiferet. Binah bestows first to Tiferet, the main one of the six extremities, and Tiferet then gives to the others. Therefore the verse says the east aroused the light.
#222
“Righteousness(צֶדֶק) calls him to his foot.” This is the west, which is Malchut, which calls the east, which is Tiferet, always. And it does not rest. As it is said, “אֱלֹהִים אַל דֳּמִי לָךְ” “O Elohim, do not be silent to You…” (Psalms 83:2). Because the west, which is Malchut, called Elohim, is aroused to it always. “He gives nations before him, and he rules over kings,” for from him, from the east, it receives power to subdue all the nations of the world.
Notes:
Malchut, the west, calls Tiferet, the east, always and does not rest. From the east she receives the power to subdue the nations.

“אֹרַח בְּרַגְלָיו לֹא יָבוֹא” “The path with his feet he will not come” (Isaiah 41:3). He asks, And will it rise upon your mind that Abraham was walking within the clouds, or upon horses and chariots? For it is said, “The path with his feet he will not come.” And he answers: Rather, “the path with his feet he will not come” means that neither an angel nor a messenger went before Abraham, but the Holy One, blessed be He, alone. As it is written, “the path with his feet.” And he asks, Who are his feet? And he answers, These are the angels who are beneath the Holy One, blessed be He. As you say, “וְעָמְדוּ רַגְלָיו בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא” “And His feet will stand on that day…” (Zechariah 14:4), which are the angels called His feet. And the measure of the verse is: His feet, which are the angels, will not come then on Abraham’s path. But the Holy One, blessed be He, alone was on his way.
Notes:
The verse does not mean that Abraham walked in the clouds. It means no angel or messenger went before him, only the Holy One, blessed be He. The feet are the angels, and they did not come on that path.
#219
Another matter. “Who aroused from the east.” Come and see: at the time that the Holy One, blessed be He, aroused the world, which is Malchut, to bring Abraham and to draw him near to Him, this arousal was for the sake of Jacob, who is the secret of the east, so that Jacob would in the future go out from him and establish from him the twelve tribes, who were all righteous before the Holy One, blessed be He. And the measure of the verse: מי” “Who,” which is Binah, aroused the world to bring Abraham, “from the east,” for the sake of the east, which is Jacob. For Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are called south, north, and east.
Notes:
The arousal of Malchut to bring Abraham near was for the sake of Jacob, the east. Binah, called “Who,” aroused the world so that the twelve tribes would come from him. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are south, north, and east.
#220
“Righteousness calls him to his foot.” The Holy One, blessed be He, was calling him, Jacob, always, from the day that the world was created. As it is said, “קֹרֵא הַדֹּרוֹת מֵרֹאשׁ” “Calling the generations from the beginning” (Isaiah 41:4). And because of this, righteousness (צֶדֶק), which is Malchut, calls him, certainly. “To his foot” means to join with him in his service and to draw him near to Him. As you say, “הָעָם אֲשֶׁר בְּרַגְלֶיךָ” (“the people that are at your feet,” Exodus 11:8), meaning the people who are joined with you. So too, “to his foot” here means to join with him.
Notes:
Righteousness(צֶדֶק), Malchut, calls Jacob from the beginning of the world. “To his foot” (לְרַגְלוֹ) means to join with him in service and to draw him near, as “the people at your feet” means those joined with you.

And of this it is written, “מִי הֵעִיר מִמִּזְרָח צֶדֶק יִקְרָאֵהוּ לְרַגְלוֹ יִתֵּן לְפָנָיו גּוֹיִם וּמְלָכִים יַרְדְּ” “Who aroused from the east one whom righteousness calls to his foot? He gives nations before him, and he rules over kings” (Isaiah 41:2). “Who aroused from the east” — this is Abraham. That is, Abraham aroused the upper firmament called “מי” “Who,” so that it should bestow the Chochmah to the lower firmament called Yam. “Righteousness calls him to his foot” — this is the lower firmament of all the seven firmaments, which became Yam. “He gives nations before him.” He asks, Who is “before him”? And he says, It is the lower firmament that we said, which is the one that makes vengeance and brings down the enemies. And of it David praised and said, “וְאֹיְבַי נָתַתָּה לִּי עֹרֶף וּמְשַׂנְאַי אַצְמִיתֵם” “And You gave me the neck of my enemies, and my haters I cut off” (Psalms 18:41). The meaning: for the shining of the Chochmah destroys all the outer ones and the Klipot. And because only the lower firmament receives the shining of the Chochmah, and not the six that are above it, therefore it says that it makes vengeance and brings down the enemies, and likewise “he gives nations before him.”
Notes:
Abraham aroused the upper firmament called “מי” (“Who”) so it would bestow Chochmah on the lower firmament called Yam. That lower firmament receives the Chochmah and thereby makes vengeance and brings down the enemies, as David said.
#216
“He gives nations before him” — these are the nations that Abraham was pursuing after them, and the Holy One, blessed be He, killed them. “And he rules over kings” — these are the angels appointed over them above. For when the Holy One, blessed be He, does judgment in the world, He does the judgment in all of them, above and below, that is, in the nations below and in their princes above in the heavens.
Notes:
The nations Abraham pursued were killed by the Holy One, blessed be He. The kings are the angels appointed over them. Judgment is done above and below together.
#217
“יִרְדְּפֵם יַעֲבוֹר שָׁלוֹם” “He pursues them, he passes on in peace” (Isaiah 41:3). “He pursues them” — this is Abraham. For Abraham was pursuing them, and the Holy One, blessed be He, was passing before him and killing them. As it is written, “he passes on in peace” — this is the Holy One, blessed be He, who is called “שלום” Peace.
Notes:
Abraham pursued the kings, and the Holy One, blessed be He, who is called Peace, passed before him and destroyed them.

Come and see: there is an upper firmament that is closed, above these seven firmaments, which is the secret of Binah of Atzilut. And this is the firmament that leads them and shines to all of them. And it is not known, that is its three upper ones, which are the secret of Abba and Imma. And it stands in a question, which is not known (לא אתידע), that is its seven lower ones, which are the secret of Yisrael Saba and Tevunah. Because it is closed and deep, and all wonder at it. And because of this it is called “מי” “Who”; that is, its seven lower ones, as they have explained it, as it is written, “מִבֶּטֶן מִי יָצָא הַקָּרַח” “From whose womb came the ice?” (Job 38:29). And this has been explained. This is the upper firmament that stands above all seven firmaments.
Notes:
Above the seven firmaments stands the closed firmament of Binah of Atzilut. Its three upper ones are Abba and Imma, and its seven lower ones are Yisrael, Saba, and Tevunah, called “מי” “Who,” because they are closed and deep. This firmament leads and shines to all the others.

#213
And there is a firmament below, that is Malchut, which is the lowest of all of them, and it does not shine. And because it is lower and does not shine, that upper firmament that is upon them, which is Binah, called “מי” “Who,” joins with it. That is, the upper firmament, which is the secret of “Who,” does not shine the Chochmah to any firmament of the seven lower ones except to the lowest of them, which is Malchut. And these two letters “י” “מ” (Mem Yod) of the upper firmament called “Who,” it includes them within it, and it is called “ים” (Yam), which are the letters of “Who.”
Notes:
Malchut is the lowest firmament and does not shine by itself. Binah, called “Who,” joins with it and shines Chochmah only to it. The letters Mem Yod become Yam.
#214
Because all these other firmaments that are above the lower firmament, which are Chessed -Gevurah -Tiferet -Netzach -Hod -Yessod, become streams and enter into it. Then it becomes an upper sea, and it makes fruits and fish according to their kinds, which are the Mochin it bestows to Beriah, Yetzirah, and Asiyah. And of it David said, “זֶה הַיָּם גָּדוֹל וּרְחַב יָדַיִם שָׁם רֶמֶשׂ וְאֵין מִסְפָּר חַיּוֹת קְטַנּוֹת עִם גְּדֹלוֹת” “This great and wide sea, there are creeping things without number, small living creatures with great ones” (Psalms 104:25).
Notes:
The six firmaments above Malchut become streams that enter it, and it becomes the upper sea. From it come fruits and fish, the Mochin bestowed to Beriah-Yetzirah-Asiyah, as David said of the great and wide sea.

Rabbi Chizkiyah said, Thus I heard. As it is written, “מִמֶּנִּי פֶּרְיְךָ נִמְצָא” “From Me your fruit is found” (Hosea 14:8). The Holy One, blessed be He, said to the Congregation of Israel, which is the Shechinah, From Me, certainly, your fruit is found. And it is not written “My fruit is found,” but “your fruit,” to teach of that yearning of the female that makes the aspect of the female of the soul, which is included in the strength of the male. And the soul of the female is included in the soul of the male, and they become one, included one in the other, as we said. And afterward the two of them are found separated in the world. And certainly by the power of the male the fruit of the Nukva is found in the world. The meaning: the word “your fruit” refers to the fruits of the female, that is to the soul that is drawn in her yearning. And the verse teaches us that even the soul of the female is not from her own aspect, but from the power of her inclusion in the soul of the male. And therefore it says, “From Me your fruit is found.”
Notes:
The verse speaks to the Shechinah. “Your fruit” points to the soul that comes from the female’s yearning, which is included in the male’s strength. Even the female soul is not from herself alone, but from that inclusion.
#210
Another meaning of the verse “מִמֶּנִּי פֶּרְיְךָ נִמְצָא” “From Me your fruit is found” (Hosea 14:8). For in the yearning of the female herself, from which comes the aspect of the female of the soul, the fruit of the male is found. For if not for the yearning of the female toward the male, no fruits would be made in the world; that is, there would be no offspring at all. This is what it says: “From Me your fruit is found.”
Notes:
In the female’s own yearning, the fruit of the male is found. Without her yearning toward him, there would be no offspring in the world.

“וַיְהִי בִּימֵי אַמְרָפֶל מֶלֶךְ שִׁנְעָר אַרְיוֹךְ מֶלֶךְ אֶלָּסָר כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר מֶלֶךְ עֵילָם וְתִדְעָל מֶלֶךְ גּוֹיִם” “And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations” (Genesis 14:1). Rabbi Yossi opened, “מִי הֵעִיר מִמִּזְרָח צֶדֶק יִקְרָאֵהוּ לְרַגְלוֹ” “Who aroused from the east one whom righteousness calls to his foot…” (Isaiah 41:2). This verse the companions have explained, but this verse is in the secret of wisdom. For we have learned: seven firmaments the Holy One, blessed be He, made above, which are the seven lower ones of Atzilut, Chessed-Gevurah-Tiferet-Netzach-Hod-Yesod-Malchut. And all of them are in order to recognize the glory of the Holy One, blessed be He. And all of them stand to make known the secret of the upper faith.
Notes:
The war of the kings is joined to the verse of the one aroused from the east. The seven firmaments are the seven lower sefirot of Atzilut, made so that the glory of the Holy One, blessed be He, and the secret of the upper faith will be known.
