Comment on Mirzá ‘Abd’u’lláh Faráháni, ‘The Divine Musician’ by Nima Rafiei https://bahaichronicles.org/mirza-abdullah-farahani-the-divine-musician/#comment-16284 Sat, 06 Jun 2020 05:26:10 +0000 https://bahaichronicles.org/?p=6553#comment-16284 In reply to Kal Basin.

This was a wonderful read, thanks so much! For those who are interested and read Persian, the original text of the first quotation from ‘Abdu’l-Baha was published in Iran in the fifth volume of the series “Makatib-i Hadrat-i ‘Abdu’l-Baha”, pages 203-04. I’ve included the text for those who read Persian to enjoy the sweetness of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s words towards him:

We have the B’hai interest in common but more specifically an interest in the the meaning of our NAMES (referring to chapter 7 beginning on page 73 of your book Arising). I here invite you to peruse my website as my humble effort to illicit a response that could hopefully open up a dialogue between us. I have spent the better part of my life studying, writing and teaching the wisdom inherent within our names. To get a sense of who I am go to my website miraceofnames.org and click on the video excerpt of me teaching.
I live on Salt Spring Island B.C. Canada

Comment on John Carl Eichenauer III by Margot Miessler Malkin https://bahaichronicles.org/john-carl-eichenauer-iii/#comment-16234 Fri, 01 May 2020 21:27:55 +0000 https://bahaichronicles.org/?p=6061#comment-16234 I was delighted to find this story about dear John´s fascinating life, I didn´t remember the earlier part of his life. The last time I saw John was when living in Mesa, Arizona for four years the end of 1970`s with my husband, Seymour Malkin and our three children. We had moved there to help form the first Local Bahá´í Assembly of Mesa. The family still had a few Health Food Stores at that time and through John, Seymour was hired to manage their Tempe, Arizona Health Food Store for some time, as he had no job when arriving in Arizona. In 1970 our family moved back to Brazil where my family had gone as pioneers in 1947. Later, when I was a pioneer in Tegucigalpa in late 1950´s, I located the “Bahá´í Representative from Honduras to the 1944 Centenary of the founding the the Bahá´í Faith and Dedication of the exterior of the Bahá´í House of Worship in Wilmette, Ill”. This dear soul, sitting in her hammock in the tiny city of Siguatepeque, Honduras remembered very clearly this episode of going to the Bahá´í Temple, and I feel certain she, and a still faithful family in the tiny hamlet of Taulabé where probably the result of the dedication of John´s teaching in Central America in early 1940´s.

Comment on Ahmad-i-Yazdi by Gordon Butler https://bahaichronicles.org/ahmad-i-yazdi/#comment-16230 Wed, 29 Apr 2020 15:51:22 +0000 https://bahaichronicles.org/?p=5952#comment-16230 If Ahmad Yazdi was over 100 in 1902, he was considerably older than the Bab or Baha’u’llah (15+ years). He must have been a much treasured friend to Baha’u’llah. Would that we could all be as great friends to our faith as was Ahmad!

Thank you! In writing about Mrs. Julia Isbrücker, we received much help from present day Dutch Esperantists. Baha’is and Esperantists most definitely share a strong desire for Unity in Diversity. Best wishes from Holland.
