The post March 20’s Xbox Games with Gold includes Project Cars 2, Fable and more appeared first on BrutalGamer.
]]>This month’s selection of Xbox Games with Gold isn’t what I would call ‘great’. Yes, there’s some decent stuff to download, but it’s mostly filler. What’s definitely not filler though, is the original Fable’s remaster from the Xbox 360.
One of the best action/adventure/RPG games from the original Xbox, Fable was a fantastic game already. Such a fan-favorite was it, that it got a remaster on the Xbox 360, which boosted its looks. If you somehow missed either of those, then now is your time. It’s the marquee game in this month’s Games with Gold as far as I’m concerned.
Not that there isn’t more to download, as there is. Scroll down to have a look.

]]>The post Fable 4 in Development… Maybe appeared first on BrutalGamer.
]]>Having recently re-played through the trilogy my love for the series rekindled and I lusted after a new, modern Fable game. Not a month later rumours emerged of the possibility that there could be a Fable game in development (Illuminati much). Then yesterday Eurogamer releases an article of Fables return. My heart sinks, palms sweat, joy squeals from my lungs. What I thought was dead and gone forever is now a strong possibility.
The article states that Microsoft has given this huge responsibility to Forza developer Playground, which makes me more than a little bit nervous.
Not too long ago it was known that Playground was hiring staff for an “open world action RPG” after conducting their regular background check using the phone number lookup service. Not only has Microsoft opened a new second studio just for this, the talent that has been brought on board is quite reassuring.
In an interview with gamesindutry, it’s revealed that working on this project is the previous studio co-producer from Kojima Productions who worked on the Metal Gear Solid series. A lead level designer from Rockstar who worked on GTAV and the senior designer from Ninja Theory.
It’s been said that the possibility of Fables resurrection is partly in thanks to Sony’s success with Horizon Zero Dawn. Which saddens me that it took another game on the rival console to be successful to make a new fable rather than the love and dedication of the fans.
‘”I have slightly mixed feelings,”‘ Fable co-creator Simon Carter told Eurogamer.
‘”On the one hand it’s great for the UK games industry, and very pleasing that Fable isn’t dead; indeed, it will be lovely to play one as a punter, without coming out in hives.”‘
‘”On the other hand it is a little curious to get rid of the team that is uniquely expert in making Fable, and then try and make Fable. Fable is a weird game, and a tough one to deconstruct for a new team. That said, the team in question is very talented, and I’m sure they’ll do a fantastic job.”‘
“I have slightly mixed feelings”. I share this feeling. On one hand I’m excited to see Fable back from the dead. But on the other, Fable is a very unique game. In look, humour and setting, it has it’s own style that I’ve never seen anything be remotely similar to. To be completely honest I’m not confident that a different developer can recreate this. It may well be an open world action RPG, but will it be a Fable game?

]]>Developed by former members of the team behind the original series, “Fortune” mixes elements from the series into a digital collectable card combat system. The kickstarted game will feature six heroes each with their own unique decks, PvP and co-op modes, and an alignment system which impacts the types of abilities players can use during matches.
The Founder’s starter pack will be required to play at launch, running for $14.99 and providing players with 20 card packs, the Flaming Fowl trophy card and a rare Giant Egg card. The game will be free to play later in the year.

]]>Were you a fan of Fable? Saddened to see the closing of Lionshead Studios?
Flaming Fowl Studios, a brand new indie games developer started by a number of long-term ex-Lionhead developers, has been working with the Fable properties for the last 18 months, and now brings us a Kickstarter for Fable Fortune.
Fable Fortune brings us a collectable card game (CCG), that offers the Fable style of leveling up, as well as the choices of morality: good vs evil.
In only a few days, (at the time of this writing), the Kickstarter has rallied over 700 backers, and over $35,000. This is a noble start, bu looking to raise $365,000 for the development of such a game, Flaming Fowl Studios has a quite the challenge ahead of them. Luckily the Fable community have been loyal followers, raising some of the Fable titles to ‘game of the year’ status.
If you prefer punching the smug faces of heroes and citizens in locations such as Fairfax Castle, or leading a band of pitchfork-wielding peasants into the dark shadows of the local cemetery, you’ll be tasked with quests unique to these locations and more.

If there’s still anyone out there who wants an Xbox 360 (or might be in need of a second unit) but has somehow avoided picking one up till now, your ship’s finally come in- and then some.
According to a report from website Joystiq today, the company has shaved a cool $50 USD off its prices on both the 250gig and 4gig Kinect bundles . That makes pricing on these packs just $250 USD. The price on the 250gig Kinect and Holiday bundles will weigh in at a hundred bucks more at $350 USD.
Apparently these bundle packs aren’t exactly light on the content either as they’re loaded with quality games (in the form of DLC codes) like Halo: Reach and Skyrim. Not too bad if you’re in the hunt for one.
