A Ghost of a chance

There’s been a good deal made out of the return of classic CoD characters Ghost in Season 2 of Modern Warfare’s content. But while you probably know all about his revival, there’s actually a ton Moore to this new set of downloadables.

Season 2 includes the aforementioned as a new Operator, but also the likes of newcomers Talon and Mace. There are also a bunch of new maps, spread out across multiple game modes, and some new hardware to play with. Oh, and speaking of “modes”, there are new arrivals there as well.

In Season Two, Al-Qatala agents have stolen a Soviet nuclear warhead and smuggled it into the city of Verdansk. Combined with previously obtained chemical gas, Al-Qatala is determined to cut off Verdansk from the rest of the world. On the brink of a global catastrophe, Captain Price sends in Ghost to track down the location of the warhead and lead key Operators before it’s too late. 

Activision

Also, unlike in past years, all of Season 2 is available for all platforms, right off the bat. So you won’t have to wait longer to play, whether you’re a PS4, Xbox, or PC gamer.

The action kicks off tomorrow, February 11th.

Match set

Two of the Tekken universe’s wrestling superstars return in the latest series of downloadables for Tekken 7. Armor King has been around forever of course, so any fan should know him immediately. As for Marduk, he’s a little newer, but has a decent history as well. And both characters are apparently linked too.

And their grudge ain’t pretty.

The fates of jaguar-masked luchador Armor King and Vale Tudo-champion Marduk became forever intertwined when Marduk killed Armor King’s brother and wrestling partner—the original Armor King—in a bar fight during the events of TEKKEN 4. Since then, a violent rivalry has festered between them, with battles being waged both inside the ring and out; their most recent brawl left them hospitalized and unable to compete in the 7th King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Here’s a look at both fighters in action.

Both fighters are looking pretty cool there, though if Marduk can lift a car I’m not sure how much of a chance anyone has. And as you can see from those trailers, we finally have the last reveal from the new round of DLC. That’d be Julia, another classic Tekken fighter who’s making a return for Tekken 7’s post-launch.

Oh, yeah, and then there’s Negan too. But you knew that already.

Savage

Conan Exiles has been something of a hit for consoles and the PC since it officially launched earlier this year. If you’re thinking it was an older game than that, you’re technically correct since it was in early access for some time. But I digress because what we’re talking about today is the biggest and most substantive set of updates since Conan Exiles left that early access period.

A total of two packs have hit for the game this week, one paid and one free. And actually, the freebie seems way more interesting. The pack intros a new dungeon to play through with the Midnight Grove, a new religion (and god), and… taming and pets. That last part in particular is a major gameplay change, and one that should add in quite a bit of fresh playability.

“Pets and taming are important new additions to the gameplay in Conan Exiles,” says Creative Director Joel Bylos. “This is something players have been asking for and we are very excited to finally be able to bring it to them. First you must head out into the world and either find an animal egg or a baby, put them in your animal pen, and then make sure you feed them properly. Once grown up they can become trusty companions in battle or even useful in production of materials. From tigers to rhinos – there are many different pets to tame and if you feed them right they might even turn into a rare version of that animal.”

About that paid DLC

As I mentioned, there’s also some new downloadable content that is paid. While it’s not as cool (IMO) as the free stuff, it’s still worth a look if you play Conan Exiles. Called the Savage Frontier Pack, the offering will include “more pet skins, new equipment, and new building pieces”.  So it sounds like it’ll work hand in hand with the free stuff.

Like the free pack too, it’s available right now. Unlike the free pack, obviously, it’ll cost you. The Savage Frontier Pack is $9.99 USD.

Celebrate good times… with fighting

As downloadable content goes, this is pretty cool. While the content itself isn’t all that special, it is free of charge. And that’s neat, especially since we’re a year out from Tekken 7’s launch, and there’s really not all that much talk about the game any more.

Not that there wasn’t at the time, since Tekken 7 was a pretty great time. The fighting game was a great return for the series, and a solid capper for the Mishima story that’s run through it since it’s creation. It also included Street Fighter’s Akuma in a pretty big role, which was all kinds of cool. We liked it just fine, and gave the game an 87%.

Since it launched, the fighting title has seen a few downloadable characters added in, but nothing in a while. So this addition is somewhat unexpected, though not unwelcome.
