These photos were a special gift for these cousins grandfather. This session only lasted about 5 minutes, I guess that’s what happens when you photograph older kids:)

Fresh 48  is a special session for those new families who want the first few hours of their newborn’s life captured without having the entire labor or birth documented.  The session takes place within the first 24-48 hours of your baby’s life, these lifestyle sessions are perfect for remembering that first day forever. This package is not meant to replace a studio newborn session! There is no posing or props. This package is meant to capture life in those few moments straight after birth in the most natural way.

The Schag family was seriously one of my favorite families to work with, they were some of the most genuine people I have ever met. This family was a perfect fit for me, my business and my style. Its always wonderful going from the nerves of meeting a brand new family and photographing their maternity session to then meeting the baby at the fresh 48 and then several days later photographing the newborn photos.

Newborns are my favorite subject to photograph! I love the way they smell, yawn. stretch, smile, etc, etc, etc… I also love photographing the bond between new siblings. My job is special because over time I am able to watch these families grow and change. It really is a beautiful thing! I feel so honored and incredibly blessed to be a part of this<3<3<3

Annemarie was such sweet angel! She loved to be wrapped but didn’t mind the naked poses either. Big sis Elizabeth was so proud and I can only imagine the special bond they will have when they are older.

Sisters: 
They share a special bond that is impossible to describe. 
It can only be felt and understood by the sisters who share it. 
They go through life together as a team, helping and supporting each other 
Through whatever this world has destined for them. 
They will never give up on each other, 
For giving up on your sister means giving up on yourself. 
They smile together, laugh together, 
Lie for each other, lie to each other and cry together.
Your sister is the one person you can confide your whole self to, the one person who understands.
She is the person who will stand by your side until the very end.
She has and always will be there for you during all the times in your life, 
Whether they be happy or sad.
A sister is someone who knows you better than you know yourself. 
She is someone you can't imagine your life without, 
And just the thought of it makes you want to cry.
She is someone who knows you're not okay, even when you say you are. 
Your sister is and always will be your very best friend.

My how fast babies grow up. I photographed Leila’s Fresh 48 and Newborn Sessions.

We had to reschedule the session 3 times due to rain and humidity.

Leila really didn’t show much expression with her cake but she absolutely loved it!

I was able to capture her real smiles when we did the family session outdoor and daddy was present:)

Griswold  the family dog joined in on the family pics just like he did in her newborn session.

He’s such a good pup!

I found this great waterfall last year(thanks to a fellow photographer) and its the perfect location for family photos. It is truly a hidden Gem. It’s called the Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve and is located in South Elgin.

Fishing during Liam’s newborn session was fun.  Liam’s dad has a love for fishing.  He wanted to incorporate that in Liam’s newborn session.  I gladly oblige when my clients want to try something new.  A happy client makes for a happy session.  Liam’s newborn session was a happy session.

Some photographers like alert babies. Others like sleepy babies.  I don’t mind either.  Liam gave me the best of both worlds. Liam loved being wrapped. It kept him sleepy and cooperative during the photo shoot.

Liam’s newborn session was lots of fun.  His parents were very laid back and allowed me to capture the photos I envisioned.  Liam’s newborn session gave me the opportunity to get creative with boys.  I usually capture more newborn girls than boys.  Liam changed that.

FISHING WITH DAD

I remember my dad waking me up at 4 o’clock.
Barely getting up with my eyes half shut,
Getting ready and packing up dad’s truck,
Hoping to catch some fish down at the dock.
Driving to the lake and still dark,
Watching dad drive and listening to my dogs bark.
Thinking this time I’ll make my mark,
And just hoping to catch the big one.
On the boat driving around,
Knowing I won’t be leaving with a frown.

Cause I’m with dad and he knows best,
Because he’s wearing his famous fishing vest.
Tying the hooks on my line.
Too bad this pole isn’t mine.
Dad said he’ll buy me one when I’m older
And just a little more bolder.
I love my daddy so much
And I know he loves me too.
His love for me is stronger than glue,
And that is why I wrote this for you.
Dad if you are listening I love you so.
You are the reason why I glow.
