It’s always terrible to lose a person you knew, cared for or respected. It’s all the more difficult when it was someone with such a profound legacy.

Dr. Stanley was one of those professors that cannot and never will be replaced. Even if you ignore the vast knowledge the man had accumulated, or even the life experiences that he could share, you will never be able to find a professor that could be so humble and so generous with his knowledge.

I never had the honor of participating in any of his classes, sadly. But I felt almost as if I was a student of his from our many interviews and conversations. He was so eager to share everything he had learned. I did consider it an honor to have the opportunity to listen to him on many, many occasions. I truly feel sad that no one else will have that chance now.

My condolences go out to not only Dr. Stanley’s wife and family, but to the English and Foreign Languages Department faculty, staff and students and to the entire Cameron University campus. This is a loss that will be felt for a long time.

Once again, a wonderful edition of the Collegian. I was very impressed with the ability of Dianne Riddles to condense all the mathematical and technical terms in her article about the Cameron professor who co-authored a textbook on mathematics. It was very well written and interesting despite my usual math-phobia. This is another terrific contribution from a very talented writer/copy editor.

I also have to acknowledge the article written by Raechel Engle who really made me think about the possible demise of printed books. As and avid reader myself, she did a great job of bringing the topic to light. Thanks!

This article was awesome. I also remember that day too. I remember my mother was crying and crying and I saw it on tv and it was sad. JFK, RFK, MLK all died in trying to make a change in the world, but I agree with the writer that we need to try and change the world by voicing our opinions.

A flash back in time. Like the writer, I was six year old at the time of this tragic day in history. I can clearly remember my mother’s reaction, as well as, my location, thoughts and emotions. A very well written thought provoking article. Thank you, Dianne Riddles, for sharing your thoughts and writing this vdry timely article.
