]]>One of the greatest benefits that a person feels from sound therapy is relief from stress. The soothing sounds help to re-tune your brain to cope with stress better by replenishing brain energy with high-frequency sound.
Many people use sound therapy to get relief from chronic headaches and migraines. It can also address the underlying cause of many headaches like stress and high blood pressure. One study reported that adults who suffered from migraines got relief from their symptoms after two weeks of therapy.
Creating new, positive patterns in your brain with sound therapy can also give you a great confidence boost. You will be able to take charge of new challenges and have the confidence to make necessary changes in your life.
Sound therapy can also help you regain focus in your life. This is achieved by lowering brain wave frequency to help you focus more. This can help you, not just in coping with day-to-day activities; sound therapy can even be used to achieve better athletic performance.
Much of the way you feel is connected to signals that your brain sends throughout the body. A body under stress feels tired and fatigued and one of the main organs that affects stress levels are our ears. Sound therapy feeds the brain with stimulating sounds that motivate the brain to release latent energy.
Too much stress is one of the major causes of breakdowns in relationships within the family, workplace, and anywhere else where we interact with others. With the help of sound therapy, your stress levels get reduced so you are able to focus more on building and strengthening relationships.
By using specific frequencies to help rebalance brain function, sound therapy can help you think clearer and avoid the temptation to rely on self-destructive and addictive habits. A healthy mind promotes a healthy body and you can break the cycle of negative thinking and habits to enjoy a much calmer and focused life.
Obviously, when your brain is more focused and there is ‘less going’ on in it, you are able to take control of your daily tasks on a whole new level. You will find that a session of sound therapy will help improve your organisational skills which will benefit your work and family life.
Many children and adults who have ADHD or speech or language difficulties have found many benefits from sound therapy. This is because sound therapy can help retrain the brain to listen more efficiently and help focus attention on tasks.
Because many of the ailments and health problems that we face in the modern age are stress-related, you can get relief from these by regularly using sound therapy. For example, problems like hypertension, stomach pain, depression, and joint pains are all related to stress and anxiety. When the correct sounds vibrate around the body, it creates a healing environment where the body and mind start to heal itself.

Sound therapy is a holistic treatment that uses therapeutic grade instruments to change your brainwave state and by activating your parasympathetic nervous system, it’s moving you from being in a really alert place of stress or concentration into a more relaxed and rested brainwave space. This has a range of benefits, from reducing anxiety and signs of depression to even lowering your blood pressure.
One of the best things about sound therapy is that you don’t need to do any prep, you just need to turn up — your brain is doing the work. Many of us don’t realise how heightened our state of awareness is. So, sound baths give you the time to recalibrate, rest, and decompress, and that’s where all the psychological and physiological recovery happens. You need to be in a restful state for your body to repair and assess what’s going on for the next time you might be faced with a situation that you need to react to.
Sound healing can be a positive experience for nearly everyone, but it’s especially helpful for those who are dealing with stress, have a difficult working life or have struggled with traditional forms of medicine. You may be someone who doesn’t even realise that you are carrying any anxiety — in which case it could be an incredibly positive experience for you.
It’s helpful for people who may not necessarily want to go to a psychotherapist to talk about their issues too. Sound healing here can help people identify the root cause of something without them having to talk about it. When you have a tidy mind, an answer you’re seeking will likely come to you.
I would not recommend sound therapy for people who get sound-induced seizures or those who are bipolar and not being medicated. If you’re having a one-to-one session, you should tell your practitioner about your mental health, and if you’ve got a condition such as the ones I’ve mentioned you will have to have a really detailed conversation. But on the whole, if you’re dealing with anxiety or mild depression then it can absolutely help with that.
In a group session, you lie down or get seated comfortably, and will be given a blanket as your temperature will drop when you’re in deep meditation. A practitioner may then lead you through some easy breathwork, before playing the therapeutic grade instruments, which could be shakers, chimes, Himalayan singing bowls, or drums. This sound, Farzana says, differs from regular music because it’s not following a particular rhythm and is deconstructed. Towards the end of a session, you will hear shakers and chimes that are slightly higher-pitched, to ground you and bring you back into the present.
While everything I’ve said about sound therapy has to do with feeling rested and relaxed, it can also stir up emotions. So, everyone’s reaction after a sound bath is very unique, and it’s normally exactly what they may have needed at that time. Some people will come out and feel drowsy and tired, others could feel quite emotional because they’ve experienced a release, and some could leave feeling revitalised and ready to go.

]]>An energist is a person who knows for a fact that energy is absolutely real, because they can feel energy in their own body and in others. Energy is everything. Your energy is an integral part of who you are and it influences how you perceive and live in the world. We all have times when our energy is palpable, and its effects are undeniable.
There is so much more to energy than meets the eye. Energy is in every single living thing, our bodies are electrical and they give off electrical energy – just like the potato science experiment many of us did in school.
Did you know that humans are 99.999% energy and only 0.0001% matter? This means that our physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness is important for our physical body, but our energy and spiritual health is vital to our overall wellbeing, more than we give it credit for. The majority of us focus most of our attention on our physical and mental health, and very little on our energetic health, then wonder why we still feel so exhausted.
These are all examples of energy. Energy medicine is the act of channeling and manipulating the energy that flows through your body in order to heal it. This can be done with hands-on practices such as acupuncture, kinesiology and Reiki, as well as sensory-based experiences like the use of crystals, sound baths, and aromatherapy.
Energists believe that your body is a life force of energy, and the flow of your energy must be balanced for good health. Energists believe that blocks in your body’s energetic field can cause poor health. Many Energists agree that modern medicine is essential, however, modern medicine primarily focuses on the physical body, whereas Energists work with the physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual bodies, and believe energy work is equally as important .
Energy healing is a traditional and ancient healing practice that restores the balance and flow of energy throughout the body, mind, and soul.It is used to treat various medical conditions, especially ailments related to mental health by addressing any disturbances of the energy flow within the body. It is believed that when the energy flow is resolved, the person feels better.
There is a placebo effect in all medicine, and energy healing is no different. Belief is an important self-healing mechanism, but belief isn’t necessary for energy healing to be effective and has been shown to work on animals and babies.
You can read an interesting scientific study on mice that healed themselves of mammary cancer through energy healing. William Bengston, the author of The Energy Cure: Unraveling the Mystery of Hands-On Healing, is first and foremost a scientist. He learned an energy medicine technique from a psychic healer and decided to test it in the lab by using pharmaceutical test mice injected with cancerous cells. He trained a team of skeptical colleagues at City University in New York to use the hands-on healing technique. The result was surprising. Not only did Dr. Bengston and his team managed to keep the mice alive longer than had previously been thought possible, but they cured them entirely. They repeated the experiment many times with thousands of mice, and the result was always the same. Time and again, in every experiment, the mice healed themselves of the mammary cancer. And what’s more, when the mice were reinjected with cancer, they were unable to get the disease. The energy treatment had rendered them immune.
Energy healing is unexplainable in many ways, but there are countless stories like this that show that it works.
Energy healing can be done hands on, hands off, and through distant healing. An Energist may be trained in massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, Reiki, Qigong, Kinesiology, EFT Tapping, Meditation, Touch Therapy, Sound Therapy, breathwork, and many others, but in essence, they use energy modalities to work with your body to help it heal itself. Energists help your body heal itself, we are facilitating and guiding the healing, not curing you.
Many people who have low energy try everything to fix their energy levels, including seeing medical professionals for endless tests only to find out medically they are fit and well (which is fantastic!). However, it leaves you feeling confused and a little concerned about why you are still feeling so low. These are the sorts of people Energists frequently see, and they use their chosen modality to help clear these energetic blocks.
We all have our own internal battery that holds our energy, sometimes it feels fully charged, other times it feels totally flat, and no amount of sleep, rest, or holidays will fix it. The times we are living in right now are energetically impacting many of us, and that is why you will see more people stepping into trying new ways to gain more spiritual connection and improve their energy.
When you have low energy, it can affect your life in many ways:
When your energies are strong and healthy, your life improves dramatically and you have energy to spare and share.
When your energy is intune, your relationships become fun and joyful. Your love flows. Your mind is clear and decisive. Your sense of self relaxes and your creativity flows with new ideas. Life becomes exciting and meaningful.
Energists believe that the highest good for humankind consists of realising and fulfilling our inborn abilities to be all that we can be. And having your energetic health at its most potent level, can only be a good thing to help with that.
So there you have it, that is what an Energist is, what we do, and why we do it. It’s a relatively new term, and there isn’t much written about it, but mark my words – this word will be seen more and more in the future.
