Whenever possible, export your mix using the project’s original sample rate and bit depth. Common settings include 24-bit at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. Avoid converting sample rates unless specifically requested, as unnecessary conversion can introduce unwanted artifacts.
Before exporting your final mix, leave approximately 3–6 dB of headroom. Avoid clipping or applying excessive limiting to the master bus unless it is intentionally part of your sound. This provides your mastering engineer with more flexibility to optimize the final master.
