Back on the big screen

As most fans know pretty well by now, there’s a fresh stab at adapting Street Fighter to the big screen that’s on the way. The film has a laundry list of big name talent in it, and is aiming to land in theaters on October 16th, 2026.

Aside from the above, we just got a look at one of the battles from the film, with the insane looking Ryu vs Blanka. If you’ve seen it, then you know that Street Fighter looks like it’ll be embracing wilder side of the iconic Capcom video games. If you haven’t, well, we hope from the above that you won’t expect it to be ‘grounded’.

That said though, the movie itself won’t be the only piece of Street Fighter content coming up.

If it’s Tuesday, it must be M. Bison

Revealed at Comic Con, Legendary Comics is planning a graphic novel tie-in for the above film. Among other characters, that’ll feature the series’ main villain, the psycho-powered M. Bison. Yes, the headman himself will make the leap from the movie, where he’s played by actor David Dastmalchian.

Speaking of, Dastmalchian will be back for the graphic novel as well. No, we don’t just mean in terms of his likeness, we mean that David Dastmalchian will be writing part of the book. Not that that should come as a huge surprised for fans. He’s written plenty of comics over the years, with Street Fighter: The Official Movie Graphic Novel just being the latest.

As mentioned, he’ll be writing M. Bison’s story, though the title will stock more than that. Also included will be stories centering on Chun-Li, Guile, and Dhalsim. Amy Chu will be writing Chun-Li’s portion, with Nick Marino penning the additional tales. There’s no release date just yet for Street Fighter: The Official Movie Graphic Novel, but stay tuned. We’ll have more for you as soon as it’s released.

We can tell you now though, that there’ll be no shortage of World Warriors on bookshelves this fall. Landing just a few days after the film opens, fans can look for DK publishing’s Street Fighter: The Making of the Movie. That’ll hit shops on October 20th, 2026.

Wake up… Neuromancer

Still something of a niche genre, though gaining traction by the day, is cyberpunk. Though some modern fiction has grown it considerably, its base continues to be (among some others including Philip K. Dick) the works of William Gibson. The writer produced his first book under the theme back in 1984. That title cemented some of the now-staple ideas that so much of cyberpunk plays off of. And yes, it was Neuromancer.

Neuromancer stars a character called Case, a hacker in a crew of dubious individuals. He’s not a run of the mill, modern day pro though. Instead, Case has a port built right into his head, for jacking into the net. Now fans of Gibson’s work will be getting the first adaptation of Neuromancer, courtesy of Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content.

Announced at SDCC this past weekend, Apple TV will debut a 10 episode series on the platform this January. That presentation will feature Callum Turner as Case, along with a few other pretty big names. Rounding out that cast will be Briana Middleton, Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy.

“Neuromancer” follows a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case (Turner) who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high stakes crime with his partner Molly (Middleton), a razor-girl assassin to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets. The ensemble cast also includes Max Irons, Dane DeHaan, Junia Rees, Jordan Kouamé, Emma Laird, Marc Menchaca, André De Shields and Isabella Pappas.

Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content, the series is created for television by Graham Roland and JD Dillard. Roland also serves as showrunner, and he and Dillard executive produce alongside David Levine, Garrett Kemble and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content; Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, Adel ‘Future’ Nur and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; Jennifer Haley and William Gibson also executive produce. JD Dillard serves as director on the first three episodes.

Neuromancer debuts on Apple TV on Friday, January 22, 2027. Fans can look for two episodes to kick things off, with individual episodes airing weekly thereafter, concluding on on Friday, January 22, 2027.

Welcome back Frank

Anybody who’s a comics fan knows Frank Miller. Or, at the very least, anyone who’s a comics fan has heard of him. An icon in every sense, Miller set the comics world on its head back in the 80s, and hasn’t looked back, with a steady stream of hit runs. Those have taken place across multiple books from the big two, as well as more than a few indie titles.

As it would happen, some of those happened in conjunction with Dark Horse, including mega-hits like 300 and Sin City. Now in 2026, the publisher is welcoming him back, and announcing the debut of a new sci-fi title, with more to come. Before we get to the latter though, there’s Invasive Species to talk about.

Or maybe we should say ‘hint at’, since we don’t actually know a ton about this upcoming mini-series. The title just debuted at Comic Con, and looks like it’ll feature some kind of alien invasion narrative. From the preview art, we’d also wager that it skews towards the gory end of things.

While its story is still a mystery though, the creative team isn’t. The science fiction tale will welcome in artist Ryan Benjamin and colorist Alex Sinclair, among others. At the Con, Benjamin and Sinclair joined Miller, to meet with fans and dish out some signatures, as well as show off the first preview art from the book. That’s the image that you see accompanying this post.

Along with Invasive Species, Miller looks like he’ll have a full plate at his new/old home. Dark Horse hasn’t detailed anything, but says that “Miller is also working alongside Dark Horse Comics for new projects, to be announced at a later date. ” So if you’re a fan of his, stay tuned.

The Punisher meets his match

Over the decades, Marvel fans have seen Frank Castle face down all manner of criminal. Those have come in the form of lowly thugs, and super-powered foes alike. But in all of that time, he’s never faced what Marvel will be throwing at him this fall.

The publisher officially took the wraps off of its latest Predator crossover at the Con’s Next Big Thing Panel. As fans know, the cosmic hunter has previously starred in mini-series that set him against both Wolverine, Black Panther, and Spider-Man. From the sound of it though, Predator vs Punisher might be setting up to be the bloodiest battle yet.

The tale in question takes place during a mob war on the streets of NYC. It’s not an organically evolving one though, as it sounds like the Predator has created it for a purpose. And yes, that purpose would be luring one skull-shirted vigilante to his doom.

From the looks of it, this won’t be an in-canon story. That’s how we’re taking it anyway, since it seems like Kingpin, Jigsaw, Silvermane and others might be caught in the crossfire. So with that in mind, which one of the title combatants wins is anyone’s guess.

Fans can look for Predator vs Punisher #1 (of 4) to hit the racks this November the 4th. As with most of Marvel‘s marquee titles too, you can look for some variant covers. One of those is a slick looking homage to the Punisher’s first appearance too, from Leinil Francis Yu.

Magic: The Marvel Legends

It was something of an odd pairing, to us anyway, but nevertheless Marvel Legends x Magic: The Gathering produced some pretty neat figures. If you missed it, the line debuted in 2025 and included the likes of Man Wolf and battle-damaged Spidey.

Those were our faves anyway. The full four figure wave also included Mary Jane in the Iron Spider suit, and Anti-Venom. As far as we can remember, that meant that three out of the four were brand new figures. Not bad for what’s essentially a spinoff series. Now here in 2026 though, Hasbro is back with a sequel wave, and it’s actually looking even better than the first.

All of the included figures were revealed at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. That’s something that definitely surprised us. For some reason, we thought that Marvel Legends x Magic: The Gathering was set to be one-off.

Looks like that’s definitely not the case though, as the line is back. And yes, it still includes a Magic card along with the action figure and accessories.

Legends x 2

First up is a great-looking Black Panther, who’s loaded with accessories. The usual extra hands and weapons come along with some surprises too. Those would be an open-chin masked head and… the Infinity Gauntlet. How’s that for cool?

Following up on the king of Wakanda is a very different take on Captain America. We have to admit that we’re not used to this look, that sees Cap decked out in steel boots and black trousers. If you’re looking for a version of the hero that stands out though, this one might fit the bill.

Next up has to be our pick of the wave, even thought the final slot comes dangerously close. Arriving completely out of left field though, is none other than Doctor Doom 2099. Clad in his distinctive silver and blue armor, Doom 2099 takes Marvel Legends one step further towards completing the main Marvel 2099 lineup. Whether you’re into that or not is up to you, but we’re all smiles over the possibility.

So who’s the final figure? Well, that’d be Malice. A figure that we never thought we’d see, Malice is the dark side of the Invisible Woman, whose mind had been warped by the villainous Psycho-Man. All the bad feelings she’d been repressing following a traumatic event came bubbling out and she (for a brief period) turned heel. While it didn’t last long, the look that the story arc left in its wake was striking. And to get it in the Marvel Legends series? Well that’s just pretty nifty

While the figures are looking slick, there are no release dates for the above just yet. Stay tuned through, and keep checking in at Hasbro’s online shop (HasbroPulse) for availability.

For Garfield, it’s always Monday

After a drought that lasted decades, the last few years have seen a pair of karting games starring Garfield. The longtime comic strip and cartoon star is expanding though, and we don’t just mean his waistline. Nope, there’s actually a fresh platformer coming up from Microids.

In the game, the famed cat is trapped in a series of nightmares that were brought on by eating some spinach lasagne. Crazy? Maybe, but this is Garfield remember, and he’s got a very sensitive palate. And by that, we mean his diet is pretty much all junk food and calorically rich Italian dishes. That spinach just kind of goes against him, hence the bad dreams.

That’s where players come in, as they’ll be guiding the orange tabby through said dreamscape. The goal there being to snatch up as much grub as possible, while snapping him out of his sleepy stupor. And if you’ve been wondering what gameplay might look like, wonder no more.

To cap off this past weekend’s San Diego Comic Con, Microids unleashed a lengthy gameplay deep dive. In that, prospective players will get a peek at an entire level, complete with mutant tomatoes and more cheese to eat than… well, than something.

For Garfield, spending most of his time sleeping is part of the routine. But spiraling into a bizarre nightmare full of vegetables, sugar-free candies and other unimaginable horrors, even the world’s laziest cat knows something is wrong! 

After Jon feeds him spinach lasagna inspired by Chef Monday’s recipe, Garfield falls into a deep sleep. In order for Garfield to wake up from the nightmare and reactivate his taste buds, he must embark on a deliciously chaotic adventure, where players will explore worlds packed with enemies, challenges and lasagna.

Thankfully, Garfield can rely on Jon and his friends Odie, Arlene and Pookie, as well as a collection of special costumes, including turkey, surfer and cowboy – each with its own unique skill – to overcome the dangers lurking within Garfield’s dreams.

If you liked what you saw there, get ready for much more. Microids says that Garfield: Escape from Mondays will stock a total of 40 levels, spread out across a trio of worlds. Helping the title cat out will be three costumes to wear, each granting special abilities. Those’ll come in handy too, while making his way across the maze of veggie-induced nightmares and battling the game’s bosses.

Garfield: Escape from Mondays will be clawing its way to the Switch, PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC on September 24th, 2026.

Star Wars celebrates five decades

First hitting theaters back in 1977, Star Wars was a smash hit from day one. The George Lucas-created sci-fi/fantasy film dominated at the box office, and went on to create a global legacy. And even though it’s been flagging in the modern era, it’s tough to argue that the iconic saga isn’t still a force (pardon the pun) to be reckoned with.

The saga not only went on to spawn sequels and prequels, but also a multimedia empire (whoa, two puns). It’s one that’s lasted as well, with toys, comics, both animation and live action television, and plenty of video games. And it’s with all of that in mind, that this winter it’ll be celebrating 50 years in style.

That’ll come via an exhibit at The Franklin Institute, a science museum and Philadelphia staple. Star Wars: The Experience will land there this coming February the 13th, and when it does it’ll be fully operational, with multiple points of interest. Some of those will be interactive too.

“Debuting the world premiere of Star Wars: The Experience in Philadelphia is a tremendous honor for The Franklin Institute and for our city,” saidLarry Dubinski, President and CEO of The Franklin Institute. “Star Wars has inspired generations through imagination, innovation, and storytelling, and there is no better place to launch this exhibition than Philadelphia, a city defined by discovery and world-changing ideas.”

“This exhibition invites all fans to step into the Star Wars galaxy in an entirely new way, getting closer than ever to the stories, characters, and creativity that have inspired generations,” said Abby Bysshe, Chief Experience and Strategy Officer at The Franklin Institute. “It’s an experience that celebrates not only how Star Wars began, but why it continues to captivate and unite so many across the globe.”

A galaxy far, far away

As mentioned, Star Wars: The Experience is shaping up to have a wide scope. Fans will be able to see first hand what it’s like to get frozen in carbonite, as well as take a walk through Queen Amidala’s throne room from The Phantom Menace.

Those are just part of the show too, as the whole event will be RFID-led. That sounds like it’ll actually take into account what individual fans check out, creating a custom experience as they make their way through the series of exhibits.

Speaking of, there’s a capper planned that we have to admit caught our attention. That would be a celebration of Star Wars action figures, one that includes more than 90s examples. We’re not just talking about retail level entries either, as Star Wars: The Experience will tout 20 “rare prototypes” and more.

Here’s a deeper look at what’ll be on hand:

• Queen Amidala’s Throne Room: Guests walk through a room of suspended fabric and projection, surrounded by voices and imagery of Star Warscostume designers. Along the way, they encounter key costumes and costume art that culminate at Queen Amidala’s iconic red Throne Room Gown.
• Wireframe Worlds: Anchored by a wireframe TIE fighter, this gallery immerses guests in the blueprint stage of Star Wars set design. Edge-lit acrylic panels and displayed artifacts showcase early vehicle sketches and design notes that evolved into cinematic icons, while surrounding graphics display diagrams of the many ships that have brought the saga to life.
• Carbon Freeze Capture: In this dramatic, photo-ready moment, guests encounter full-scale Han Solo in a carbonite prop surrounded by two interactive stations. Here, guests can experience their own “carbon freeze” sequence – an unforgettable fusion of storytelling and technology that allows fans to “step” directly into one of cinema’s most iconic scenes.
• The Force Connects Us: Using the latest RFID technology, each guest journey becomes uniquely personal, shaped by their choices and driven by their alliance with the Force. As guests move throughout the exhibition, hidden moments, evolving interactions, and story elements will unfold, culminating in a personalized finale moment.
• 50 Years of Star Wars: As part of the finale of the exhibition is an unprecedented look at 50 years of Star Wars action figure history and creation, featuring more than 90 iconic Star Wars collectible figures, including vintage figures, over 20 rare prototypes, development models, tooling samples, and original design materials, some of which have never been displayed publicly before. This unique showcase reveals how Kenner’s and Hasbro’s artistry has evolved alongside the saga itself, from the iconic figures of the Original Trilogy to today’s premium collectibles.

Look for tickets to go on sale for Star Wars: The Experience this November (2026). The Show will then officially open at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute on February 13th, 2027, and run through September 6th (2027). Click here for more on the official site, and to sign up for the ticket pre-sale.

Though it’s debuting in the iconic Pennsylvania city though, it won’t be ending there. Managed by Round Room Live, Star Wars: The Experience will take its leave of the city and kick off a five year tour of the US. Look for that to start after that September 6th, 2027 date.

Street Fighter is back

Who’s your favorite world warrior? Chance are, if you’re a fighting game fan, you have one. Capcom’s fighting series, now a juggernaut, has been around for a long time, and has legions of fans. And from the internet chatter, it looks like most of those are a little bit interested to see what the upcoming movie holds.

From Paramount Pictures, this October’s Street Fighter looks like the most direct adaptation of the source material yet. The trailers have been loaded with stuff right from the games. And we mean loaded, with special moves aplenty, over the top designs, and explosive use of color.

What’d you think of that, the most recent look at Street Fighter in action? If you’re as amped for it as some fans seem to be, you might be wondering if there’ll be anything to add to your shelf. Naturally, the answer to that’s ‘yes’, as Hasbro has picked up the license. And that means a host of characters will be heading to retail.

The World Warriors come home

The first wave of Street Fighter figures will be four characters deep. There’s no filler either, as all of these feature fan-favorites from the series. Fans can look for Chun-Li, Ken, Ryu, and Akuma to be included. We do have to say that we’re a little surprised that the initial offerings didn’t include Bison. Not that Akuma isn’t solid, or a classic SF villain, we’d just have expected the big bad himself, or maybe one of his lieutenants.

Nevertheless, all of the figures look to be sculpted to reflect their character’s looks in the movie. That includes what look to be some pretty nice actor likenesses. The figures are all 6″ in scale as well, if that piques your interest. Hasbro adds that they’ll feature “highly articulated limbs, interchangeable parts and signature effects inspired by the characters’ most memorable attacks”.

Just when these figures might be making their way to retail, we’re not sure. And for its part, the toy-maker says to watch HasbroPulse.com for availability.

Doomsday, right from Comic Con

Retailer Sideshow‘s big return to San Diego Comic Con didn’t disappoint. That’s to say that it didn’t if you’re pumped for this fall’s Avengers: Doomsday movie. Hot Toys‘ first takes on the Marvel Cinematic Universe event got a host of reveals at the Con, all of which are looking pretty sharp.

The company looks to be going all in, and naturally that includes a Doctor Doom figure. But hang on, because several X-Men are on the way too. Honestly, that should probably come as no shock either. After all, the MCU-ified X-Men have been the talk of the trailers, mainly thanks to their way more accurate looks. In the movie, Cyclops dons a riff on his classic 90s costume, plus with Beast, Gambit, and Professor X are all fairly spot on. So is Magneto, who at long last looks like the Magneto that fans have been wanting to see for decades.

And then… there’s the spoiler. Not that there hasn’t been video floating around already featuring this newly revealed character, but yes, that’d be a Sentinel. And yes, Hot Toys will be producing one. Featuring a muted color scheme, when compared to the comics, the mechanical monster is nonetheless looking shockingly good.

The retailing giant took the wraps off of all of the above in the booth on the show floor. There fans could check out Hot Toys‘ latest in person. Just in case you weren’t able to make the show though, we’ve got the official product photography for you.

Batman returns

Okay, so Batman technically hasn’t gone anywhere. The DC superhero still looms large over the publisher, with multiple monthly books in production, across a pair of universes. That said though, there are a few Bat-titles from the past that haven’t been seen for while.

Take Shadow of the Bat for example. Debuting in 1992, the (writer) Alan Grant helmed book ran throughout the rest of that decade, before concluding in 2000. It played a big part in Bat-lore from the 90s too, serving in multiple crossover events, and even introducing a few new characters. However, since the turn of the millennium, it’s only been seen in paperback collections.

If you were a fan though, stand by, because Shadow of the Bat is coming out of retirement. DC made the reveal at SDCC this past weekend, taking the wraps off of a total of three new comic series’. Other than the Batman title, there will also be fresh runs for Vixen and Static.

We don’t know much about any of the above right now, unfortunately. We can tell you who’ll be on board though, in terms of creative. Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez will be handling Shadow of the Bat, while Cody Ziglar and Diego Olortegui light a spark under Static, and Stephanie Williams and Khary Randolph rev Vixen up for her new run.

Stay tuned, DC fans. The publisher says that there’ll be much more to talk about in the months to come. That’s not just true for the above comics either, as DC‘s Next Level initiative rolls on.
