I well recall my mother walking into the general store in the small town in s/w N.B. I grew up in looking for Sisman Scampers for my youngest brother. They were the toughest shoes she felt we could afford and water puddles were irresistable to him. This would have been in the 50’s.

Hi there…..this is an old ad so not sure if its still active…….I have a pair of Sisman shoes I purchased for my high school graduation in the mid 70’s…..used once….been dragging them with me since…..time they find a new home…interested in pictures? Thanks

From the comments on this site, Aurora seems like every other place just outside of a large city, ready to be eaten up. Sounds like a great place to live. And inexpensive. oh so inexpensive. Great place to retire to a large home from a small 2M dollar home in Toronto. At least the people know what a Range Rover is? Soon all the hillbillies will be gone to a trailer up north ….. and that is a good thing!

This site is a matter of historical significance to the Town of Aurora. As a final resting place for pets that were so beloved by their owners and from what I have heard, over 200 resting places, it most definately should be a heritage site and opened up to the public.

Thank you for posting this letter. Mayor Dawe’s strong Anti Slapp stance is much appreciated by this Aurora resident.
Although we need to put this mess behind us, we cannot afford morally, ethically and financially to forget or repeat these actions.
Good to see some community leaders have the guts to apologize. It’s the least the town could have done.
