After an incredible summer of making new memories with friends, Camp Wyandot is ready to settle down for the winter! Join us on September 26 from 9 am-3 pm for a busy and exciting day at Wyandot, and lend your support to our beloved historic camp.

The more the merrier, so bring your family and friends!  Lunch will be provided.  We have a wide variety of jobs, and there is something for everyone.  Examples of jobs we will be working on include: winterizing the Dining Hall and other buildings, bed repairs, board replacements, painting/staining, etc.

Our Workdays are a continuation of one of our longest traditions.  As early as 1929, volunteers have been the backbone of Camp Wyandot’s Success!  In that year, a group of volunteers calling themselves “Fathers and Friends” got together and built the Staff Lodge.  This volunteer group was active until 1957, when Camp Wyandot held their first “Work Weekend,” which evolved to “Workdays” during the 2020 pandemic.  Take a moment to think of all the generations of volunteers that have enabled Camp Wyandot to provide an inclusive nurturing environment for youth to have fun, make friends, serve others, and explore the great outdoors.

All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  Children (ages 10 and up) should be willing to participate with the work projects as well.

We hope to see you for a beautiful day at Camp Wyandot in the fellowship of other volunteers!

Become a Pillar of Camp Wyandot: Join the Wyandot Impact Circle

Your support means the world to us—and now, you can multiply that impact by joining the Wyandot Impact Circle. By choosing to give monthly, you provide Camp Wyandot with a steady, reliable foundation that allows us to dream bigger and plan further.

Your monthly gift transforms lives in the heart of the Hocking Hills:

  • $10/month provides all the supplies needed for a memorable campfire cookout.
  • $25/month funds specialized programs for our teen campers, teaching them the vital skills of conservation and backcountry navigation.
  • $50/month sponsors a “campership,” giving a child the gift of a week filled with adventure, confidence-building, and discovery.
  • $100/month supports our environmental stewardship by providing native plants and trees for our forest management and conservation programs.

Your ongoing generosity ensures that Camp Wyandot remains a sanctuary where campers build life-changing competencies, foster a deep connection with the natural world, and forge friendships that last a lifetime.

Ring the Bell Alumni Challenge

 June 1 through August 31, 2026

The Challenge is an opportunity for Camp Wyandot and Camp Otonwe alumni to reach out to their friends, family, and co-workers and share the magic of camp and help us achieve a significant fundraising goal so we can collectively Ring the Bell! (… read more)

Why Are We Having the Alumni Challenge?

To raise important funding so kids who attend camp can experience the excitement of learning outdoor living skills, the awe of hiking among the giant hemlocks, and the special bond that is created when making new friends.

Who Are Our Alumni?

If you attended Camp Wyandot or Camp Otonwe as a camper, counselor-in training, or counselor, at any time in the past, YOU are an alumni.

How Does It Work?

The Alumni Challenge is a new kind of fundraising activity for Camp Wyandot, called Peer-to-Peer. In this type of initiative, we are encouraging all those who have personal experiences at Camp Wyandot – as campers, counselors-in-training, or counselors  – to reach out to their friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors to request support for the programs at Camp Wyandot.

We know you have many special memories of the wonderful times you had at camp. This is your chance to share them with people who are not familiar with Camp Wyandot. Let them know what a special place it is and how much it influenced your life.

When your friends know how much Camp Wyandot means to you, they will be likely to support it by making a donation. That’s when we will be able to Ring the Bell!

Learn more and participate here!

Laughter, songs, and sounds of joy will soon be heard all around Wyandot; but first, we need your help in preparing camp for the arrival of our excited campers and staff!

Join us on Saturday, April 25 for a busy and exciting day at Wyandot, and lend your support to our beloved historic camp.  The more the merrier, so bring your family and friends! Our day will run from 9 am-3 pm.  Lunch will be provided.

We have a wide variety of jobs, and there is something for everyone.  Examples of jobs we will be working on include: painting, sweeping, bed repairs, board replacements, screen replacements, gutter cleanout, hanging essential signage, trail maintenance, faucet replacements, general tidying up, etc.

Children who attend must be ages 10 and up and willing to join in the work projects. All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jane Arrowood (age 84) died on February 20 in her home of 55 years in Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness.  She is survived by son Craig (Jana Messinger), daughter Lisa (Rob) Graham, grandchildren Ally, Charli, & Addy Arrowood and Marcus Graham, sister Susan Scott, nephew Matt Scott, and niece Meredith Kersting.  She was preceded in death by Ben, her husband of 54 years, and parents Charles & Ava Lauer.

Jane took great pride in the fact that she was a nurse for 43 years.  She was nicknamed “The General” due to her ability to take charge in any situation and know exactly what needed to be done.  Spending time with her grandkids, playing cards, shopping, and playing the slots at the casino were her favorite pastimes.

Jane was a Camp Fire Girl in Huntington, West Virginia, and she passed the love of that program on to her daughter acting as a club leader for 12 years and volunteering as an association and district officer.  She helped plan many of the area club events for the Central Ohio Council of Camp Fire during the 70’s and 80’s.  Her favorite volunteer work was for Camp Otonwe as Camp Nurse and then Camp Director.  She helped with recruiting and training club members and leaders for multiple decades, participating in the Children’s Hospital Clown Unit, and organized the youth volunteers for the Columbus International Festival for 30 years, scheduling Camp Fire Girls and Girl Scouts to clean tables and hand out programs.  Jane donated first aid supplies at both Camp Wyandot and Camp Otonwe for over 20 years, and served on the Central Ohio Council Board of Directors in the 80’s.

Jane was very active in leading her daughter’s 3 different clubs over a 30 year period, and organized yard sale fundraisers for 15 years to raise money for Prairie association kids to enjoy a weekend trip to Camp Wyandot.  Camp Wyandot owes a big thanks to Jane for the many years of her support and care!
