It was a beautiful Summer day for AQ and Cammie Shipley’s wedding! The day started with all of Cammie’s bridesmaids, Cammie’s mom and the bride herself having a wonderful brunch in the Baltimore Marriott’s bridal suite. Up Do’s for I Do’s arrived to do their hair and make up in the suite, while the groom went for a swim and relaxed in the jacuzzi. The bride and groom were so relaxed for their wedding day and it was nice to see them both relaxing and taking in the whole day! Fabrications came and set up the pipe and drape and starry night ceiling treatment for their reception. Little House of Flowers arrived to do the flowers for the ceremony and the reception and it was stunning! The ceremony started with The Antares Musicians playing the Wedding March and Cammie walked down the aisle with her Father, Cammie’s dress was stunning. Cammie’s dress was a white strapless dress with the most beautiful stitched bling additions that just sparkled in the soft light of the ceremony. AQ was so handsome in his Black Suit and smiled from ear to ear as he saw his beautiful fiance come down the aisle. The reception theme was starry night and it was breathtaking when you entered the room, the entire room was pipe and draped in blue fabric, the ceiling had white tulle lit up with lights running all across the ceiling. The groom is from Pittsburgh and they have a cookie tradition so there were tables full of hand made cookies by family members for guests to enjoy and take home, across from the cookie table was a candy bar filled with blue, silver and white candies to go with their theme. Guests enjoyed 9 food stations of the bride and groom’s favorite dishes and guests danced the night away to AJ Productions DJ Matt Davis and when not dancing they were getting pictures in the Chesapeake Photo Booth. It was an amazing night and their entire night was captured by Formica Studios and The Documentist. We were holding on to these beautiful pictures and the wonderful video until What’s Up Weddings Fall Issue came out because they picked up the wedding in their fall issue. It was both a pleasure and an honor to be part of AQ & Cammie Shipley’s wedding! AQ and Cammie were so wonderful to work with, when we arrived on site for their wedding Cammie was chilling with friends eating brunch in her suite, and AQ was chilling in the hotel pool. This bride and groom really relaxed and enjoyed their wedding day and it showed throughout the day. Everything ran flawlessly and the design and decor for their wedding was BEAUTIFUL!

Styled Shoot Published in Whats Up Wedding Magazine

We were honored to be featured in the Spring 2014 Edition of the What’s Up Wedding Magazine. Several industry professionals came together to create a romantic themed styled shoot at Crush Kitchen and Winehouse and it was amazing. The AJK Events team and Little House of Flowers met together to design the shoot. Using items in the AJK Events rental inventory as well as Little House of Flowers rental inventory, we were able to create a ceremony backdrop, head table, seating chart, lined aisle and it was simply stunning. Thanks to the following vendors for making this shoot possible: Kyle Bergner Photography, Behind the Veil hair, Kelley Unthank Make-up, Absolute Party Rental, Little House of Flowers, Crush Kitchen and Winehouse, and Annapolis Formal & Tuxedos.

AJK Events Team

As we are working on our various 2014 events: Weddings, Bar Mitzvah’s, The John Mackey Award Dinner and the Ultimate Boot Camp Challenge, it take a team to get the work done. I have the best team, the girls are always ready to step up to a new challenge and research new ideas and vendors. Allison DeVere was the first to join my team a year and half ago and she stepped in like she had been working with AJK Events all her life. Event planning came naturally to her and she is amazing to work with both before, during and after the event. Allison now runs her own weddings and she is great!

Karen has been with AJK Events for almost a year and while she is still learning the in’s and out’s, she is super sweet and works very hard on every event. Karen fell upon us at a Milestone Bar/Bat Mitzvah show and she worked her first wedding with us within a couple weeks of meeting us. Karen had no problem jumping in and we knew that she would be a great fit for the AJK Events team.

Then there is Alicia, she found us at a wine pairing dinner and she has been with us for only six months but she is a huge asset to AJK Events. Alicia has a strong work ethic and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty by trying something new.

To be successful in this industry it takes a strong team, and I am thankful everyday for the ladies on the AJK Events team. We all have different strengths and together we make a GREAT team. Thank you ladies for all your hard work, 2014 is going to be an amazing year! Angie

Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

Our first wedding of 2014 and we were with Kaitlin & Derek at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. It was a great day, while cold, the sun was out and it the view was amazing. The bride and groom were both very down to earth and really enjoyed their day. The beach club is always a great venue to work at, they have exceptional service, excellent food and it is always smooth sailing. Congratulations Kaitlin & Derek!

Camp Letts Wedding

It was a pleasure to be part of Andrew & David’s wedding at Camp Letts located in Edgewater, MD. From our first chat, Andrew and I connected instantly and Allison and I met with Andrew and David right away! We spent more time laughing than working on wedding details. When we did crack down on the wedding details, Andrew and David were open to Allison and I’s suggestions. We enjoyed every meeting and we enjoyed setting up and working their wedding. I left after the ceremony to work on my wedding on the same day, but I was so glad I got to help make their day amazing and see their ceremony before leaving. Allison worked the rest of their wedding and it was an elegant outside reception, complete with games for all the kids. Great weather, great grooms, and a wonderful day!

Quiet Waters Park Edgewater

Octava & Mike hired us a while ago when they discovered that they had an hour and half to set up their venue and they wanted to enjoy their wedding day. We stepped right in to help with this. Octava & Mike were a great couple and we helped make their wedding day a reality! Octava was able to get her hair and make up done and relax with her bridal party and could leave all the set up to us. It was a beautiful Fall day and the ceremony outside was simply beautiful! Congratulations Octava & Mike and we wish you many years of happiness!!!

Londontown Wedding

On a hot July day, our crew set up and decorated for a wedding at Londontown Gardens. We brought in extra tents to make one large tent and we set up doors as the backdrop for the wedding ceremony and a cool mason jar set up for guests to find their tables. It was a beautiful day and people didn’t seem to mind the heat once the party began. Absolute Party Rentals did a GREAT job with all the tents and it really made it possible to keep all guests together, instead of breaking the dancing up inside the building and the seating and dinner outside the building. It was a great day, great bride and groom, and the sun was out!!!!

Baltimore Sheraton Hotel Wedding

What a pleasure it was to work with Kelly & Matt on their wedding. This couple is beautiful inside and out, their friends and family were all just as sweet as they are. Kelly and Matt used silver and yellow throughout there wedding, from the bridesmaids dresses to the candy bar. The Bride and Groom got married overlooking Baltimore Harbor and their guests were all seated in silver chiavari chairs. Cocktail hour was around the pool deck, where Kelly & Matt made cubes with pictures of them for each of the cocktail tables. The reception was in the grand ballroom and they set up a lounge for guests to relax and the head table was elevated so everyone could see the bride and groom. Kelly & Matt were a delight to work with and we were so happy to be part of their big day!

St. John’s College/the Great Room/the Boathouse

Colleen & Bryce’s wedding brought AJK Events to a venue that they have been longing to work at….St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md has several facilities to rent. Colleen & Bryce chose the Great Room for their ceremony and it was amazing. The architecture of the Great Room and the historical feel was a perfect backdrop for Colleen & Bryce. Colleen & Bryce have an old soul kind of love, from the vintage engagement ring to the bride’s one shoulder dress (that was absolutely stunning on her). The reception was held at the Boathouse just down the alley and the view from the boathouse is simply BEAUTIFUL. The guests were able to enjoy the simplicity of the boathouse décor, while watching the sun set over the water. Colleen & Bryce made my job very easy and they were an absolute joy to work with! Congratulations Colleen & Bryce!!!!
