Jackie and I became friends when I was a photographer at The Bellingham Herald and she was a reporter for the radio station KGMI. Crazy to think how long we’ve know each other. Now we’re both married with kids and have moved on to other professions. So fun seeing her and her family for a family portrait session at Elizabeth Park in Bellingham, WA. Miss you guys!

Charlie and his sister have been family friends with my in-laws forever. My brother-in-law was the best man in Charlie and his wife Kim’s wedding several years ago. I don’t see them often and it was wonderful having them out to Camano for these sweet Fall Mini Session family photos. Camano Island is a special place for my in-laws and Charlie has spent many summer days having fun there.
Up first is Charlie’s sister Johannah and her family.

Here’s Charlie and Kim!

Kristina and Jeff hired me to photograph their 2010 wedding, since then I’ve photographed them many times (including this Fall Mini Session at Willis Tucker Park) and we’ve become great friends. My daughter pretend calls their daughter several times a day and loves playing with their son. It’s so nice being in a profession where I can really get to know my clients. It was freezing at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish but we got some fun, beautiful images.

I love photographing family photos in Seattle and especially at the Olympic Sculpture Park. You can get so many backdrops… urban, beach, trees, trails, and art! This session with Justin and Shana is from my Fall Mini Session. Their little guy just cracks me up!

It was such an honor to photograph my brother-in-law’s Camano Island wedding last summer! It was my first wedding since beating breast cancer (YAY!!!) and having a bilateral mastectomy in June. I didn’t know if I’d have the strength or stamina but I did and it felt SO GREAT being back out there! The moment I met Lauren I knew she was a keeper. She is just perfect for Patrick and he’s perfect for her. Their low key beach wedding was held at Patrick’s family’s cabin on Camano Island where my family spends a lot of time during the summer. I had my wedding at the cabin in 2011 and could not wait to photograph a wedding there. I’m so happy for them and am so happy to be a part of their lives. We love you!!!

Lauren’s good friend and performer Keeley Bumford sang to start the wedding…

Actually tying the knot!

Lauren’s friends!

Patrick’s best buds!

Patrick is always doing something that amazes us… like making his own “bubble juice” and giant bubble maker.

POP!

The ceremony was held at the garden which is on property that was homesteaded in 1894 by Kristine’s family. The weather was really iffy before the ceremony but thankfully held off and it was amazing! I just can’t begin to describe how beautiful and peaceful it is there. We went to Taylor Dock in Bellingham for more portraits and then over to the Bellingham Ferry Terminal, a fantastic venue, just southwest on the shoreline of Bellingham Bay. It was such a heartwarming and wonderful day!

In celebration of LOVE, I will be at Seattle’s PrideFest this Sunday June 30, at the wedding expo in Fisher Pavilion. I’ll be introducing my Micro Wedding package for couples wanting fantastic wedding photography but who aren’t having a full wedding. These are available Monday through Fridays and select weekends.
Those visiting my booth will receive the PrideFest discount! Tell your friends and loved ones to visit me… I’ll be giving away an hour session that you can use for engagement, wedding or family photography!
As a gay woman myself, this decision is extremely important to my wife and my future family. We are now equal.
Congrats to all the loving families, gay and straight, across these United States who are celebrating LOVE and EQUALITY today!!!
LOVE ALWAYS WINS!!!!!!

LOVE WINS!!!

It’s never too early for a little wedding cheer!

Translating her vows into Spanish…

First look…

So cute!

It was an unbelievable day…

Trying to think of a pose…
These bridesmaid were ready, Yakima Valley style…

Their pup gets ready for the ceremony…

Groomsmen looking sharp…
…and then…
…notice the blonde laughing at him?
…and the other bridesmaid point at her?
…and then realizing it was her fault! She had bumped into him without knowing… it was pretty funny!
Yahir’s uncle, left, performed the ceremony…

I believe the tequila was made by one of Yahir’s uncles…

Yahir kept egging on his guys to keep cheering for him…

Then the strangest thing happened… Yahir and Chloe were made to get on chairs and hold hands, creating an arch below them. The women ran through the arch holding hands until Yahir and Chloe couldn’t hold hands any longer…

THEN, the guys took their turn and needless to say, it was a little more crazy!
Once they broke apart, the guys carried Yahir away…

Then tossed him in the air…

Good times!
