We combine structural biology techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy, cryo-electron tomography, biochemistry, genetics, and cell-based approaches to determine how ribosomes coordinate nascent protein folding, targeting, quality control, and cellular adaptation. Our research focuses on the dynamic interactions between ribosomes and their associated factors to understand how protein synthesis is regulated in health and disease. By integrating structural, biochemical, and cellular approaches, we aim to uncover fundamental principles of translation that can be leveraged to understand human disease and develop new therapeutic strategies.

Education:
B.Sc., McMaster University, Canada, 2007

Ph.D., McMaster University, Canada, 2014
Postdoctoral Fellow, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, 2014–2018

Research Associate, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, 2018–2022

Recent Publications:

Gluc, M.*, Rosa, H.*, Bozko, M., Turner, L.
