Why Every Home Needs a Persian Carpet Kashan: Where Style Meets Functionality

Imagine walking into a room that feels like a story waiting to be told. The soft glow of the evening sun filters through the curtains, casting shadows on the floor, where an exquisite Persian carpet Kashan lies in all its glory. Its rich patterns seem to whisper tales of ancient artistry, of skilled hands weaving threads into a masterpiece. This is the magic that a Persian rug Kashan brings into any home – a blend of timeless elegance and practical functionality that transforms everyday spaces into extraordinary experiences.

Let’s unravel the beauty, practicality, and cultural richness of this extraordinary rug and discover why it deserves a special place in your home.

The Tale of the Persian Carpet Kashan: Woven with History and Art

The city of Kashan, nestled in the heart of Iran, has been the birthplace of some of the most beautiful Persian carpets for centuries. Known for their hand-knotted craftsmanship, these rugs are not just carpets; they are living pieces of history. Every knot, every thread tells a story – a story of skilled artisans who, with nothing but their hands, patience, and passion, create something that stands the test of time.

When you bring a Persian carpet Kashan into your home, you’re not just adding a touch of luxury; you’re inviting a piece of heritage, an artwork that has been perfected over generations. These rugs are the result of countless hours of meticulous weaving, where each knot is tied with care, and each pattern is imbued with a sense of tradition and artistry.

Functionality Meets Artistry: Why Kashan Carpets Are Built to Last

We often think of art as something to be admired from a distance, but what makes the Persian rug Kashan so special is its ability to blend beauty with functionality. These rugs are not delicate pieces that you have to tiptoe around; they are durable, sturdy, and designed to handle the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Resilience: The hand-knotted technique used in Kashan carpets means that each knot is tightly secured, making the rug incredibly resilient. It can handle high traffic areas with ease, from the constant movement in your living room to the playful footsteps in your hallway.

Longevity: Unlike machine-made rugs that wear out and lose their charm over time, a Kashan carpet only grows more beautiful with age. The wool used is of the highest quality, giving it a natural resistance to dirt and stains. This means that even with little maintenance, your rug will continue to look stunning for years to come.

Easy Maintenance: A Breeze in Your Busy Life

You might think that something as intricate as a Persian carpet Kashan requires constant care, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Despite their luxurious appearance, these rugs are surprisingly easy to maintain. The high-quality wool has natural oils that repel dirt, making it simple to keep clean.

A quick vacuum once a week is usually all it takes to keep your Kashan carpet looking fresh and vibrant. For those inevitable spills, a gentle blot with a damp cloth is often enough to prevent stains from setting in. And as your rug ages, it develops a beautiful patina, a soft sheen that adds to its character and charm. It’s like having a fine wine in your home – it only gets better with time.

Transforming Spaces: How a Persian Carpet Kashan Elevates Any Room

The moment you lay down a Persian carpet Kashan, your space transforms. Suddenly, your living room is no longer just a place to sit; it’s a sanctuary, a conversation starter, a work of art. Here’s how this rug can breathe new life into different areas of your home:

The Living Room: Imagine sinking your feet into the soft, luxurious fibers of a Kashan carpet as you settle down with a book or host a gathering with friends. Its intricate patterns and rich colors act as the perfect backdrop, making your living room feel warm, inviting, and incredibly stylish.

The Bedroom: Place a Persian carpet Kashan at the foot of your bed, and watch how it transforms your bedroom into a cozy, elegant retreat. It’s the kind of rug that invites you to take off your shoes, curl up, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

The Dining Area: A Persian carpet Kashan under your dining table adds a sense of sophistication and charm to mealtime. Its durability ensures it can handle the occasional spill or scuff, while its beauty makes every meal feel like a special occasion.

The Perfect Pairing: Why the Persian Carpet Kashan Belongs in Your Home

What makes the Persian carpet Kashan so unique is its ability to blend seamlessly with any décor style. Whether your home is a sleek, modern masterpiece or a rustic, vintage hideaway, this rug has the versatility to fit right in. The Kashan carpet is not just an accessory; it’s a partner to your home, complementing your style while adding its own touch of elegance and grace.

A Legacy You Can Walk On: The Value of a Hand-Knotted Rug

The true value of a Persian carpet Kashan lies in its ability to be both a decorative piece and a practical investment. When you choose a hand-knotted rug, you’re investing in a piece of art that will not only enhance your space but also grow in value over time. It’s an heirloom, a treasure that you can pass down through generations, each knot carrying the memories of the homes it has graced.

GOOD Morning Britain fans were delighted today as presenter Nick Dixon finally made it into the studio.

The Scottish journalist, 52, is a news correspondent on the show and is often seen reporting from various parts of the country.

But today Nick joined Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard by coming in from out of the cold.

Sharing a series of snaps, Nick told his followers: “A Christmas treat (for me) to be in the warm @gmb studio this morning.”

His fans were very happy, with one person commenting: “A Xmas treat for the viewers too (ratings through the roof today…?)”

A second said: “Good to see you in the studio Nick.”

Earlier this year Nick came under fire from his GMB viewers who accused of him of not using a seat belt while filming a segment for the show in Sussex.

He insisted at the time: “Just to reassure people who have been tweeting me this morning to say I haven’t had a seat belt on, I have, all morning.”

Showing viewers a different angle, he added: “You can maybe see from that angle, it’s not visible because it dips down and you wouldn’t see it from where Rav’s filming in the back.”

A FORMER TV journalist, mum and anti-war Russian planning to stand against Vladimir Putin in the 2024 election has been dubbed a tool of Western intelligence.

Brave Ekaterina Duntsova, 40, is expected to beat the tyrant by a landslide on her anti-war platform, although he will likely remain in power anyway.

The mum-of-three, who has no Moscow political experience, needs to bag 300,000 signatures by January 31 to formally register her candidacy in the elections.

Duntsova has been smeared with vicious allegations that she is an “agent of foreign intelligence services”, as she tries to take down Mad Vlad.

She is a fierce proponent for ending the war in Ukraine, and says that while corruption has become "the norm" under Vlad, it shouldn't be.

Duntsova is a proponent for peace and democracy – two things Putin's rule have not been summed up by.

One of Putin's supporters, political analyst Sergey Markov, accused her of being an “ideal candidate” who was “specially selected…by political strategists of the US or British intelligence services.

"I just don’t know yet, the USA or Britain or both," he said.

And Kremlin-state media outlet RIA Novosti alleged that she had been linked to Mikhail Khodorkovsky, once Russia’s richest man and a Putin enemy now exiled in Britain by an election committee member.

“I think the public association with Khodorkovsky is a hint as to why Duntsova might be denied registration,” said exiled journalist Dmitry  Kolezev.

But Kolezev still described her as “the main political discovery of the end of 2023”, and the only option not born from the Kremlin.

He said she fulfilled a strong desire in the country to have a different leader to Putin, who has been ruling Russia with an iron fist for decades.

But Putin is all but certain to win the no-doubt rigged election in 2024, despite his painfully slow grind in Ukraine that is coming up on two years.

People are dying every day, and I am sure they wanted to live. We all want to live, and we need peace.

Duntsova said of the war: "In February 2022, the current president announced the start of a special military operation.

"And now people are dying every day, and I am sure they wanted to live.

"We all want to live, and we need peace."

Amid the constant repression and even murder of those who speak out against the Russian state like Alexei Navalny and Boris Nemtsov, standing against Putin is no mean feat.

When asked if she was afraid of being imprisoned, she said "Of course, I have no illusions about these 'elections', and, like any normal person, I am afraid.

"But I have hope that Russia can be changed democratically."

She said that under Putin, "corruption is taken for granted, almost as a norm.

"But it is not the norm."

Duntsova also hit back at a reporter who asked if she would be allowed to stand in the sham elections.

“Why are we talking about permission if this is my right according to the law and I have that possibility and have the necessary qualities to put myself forward?" she replied.

"We are just moving according to the formula prescribed by federal law, and for that we don't need anyone's permission.”

Corruption is not the norm

Duntsova is also backed by her three children, Maria, 19, Sophia, 16, and Sylvester, ten.

The family live in Rzhev, a backwater town in Tver region on the rail line between Moscow and Latvian capital Riga.

The former journalist has degrees in law and television journalism and from 2006 to 2022 she was the editor-in-chief of the local television studio RiT.

Duntsova has a very different view to Vlad when it comes to the separation of Russia and Ukraine.

She thinks peace means living in harmony despite "religious, cultural and political differences", whereas Putin has consistently tried to absorb Ukraine into the Russian country and culture.

“Living in peace means respecting and loving each other, regardless of our religious, cultural and political differences.

“We need to re-learn how to talk and work together to solve the problems of our country."

Speaking of the blight faced by Russian civilians, many of whom have began to more fiercely criticise Putin's campaign in Ukraine, she said:

"[We have] poverty, when pensioners barely have enough to pay for utilities, food and medicine.

"Will the borders be closed? How many more waves of mobilisation will there be?

"Will we live better, richer lives? What is the future of our country….?

"I am running for president of Russia so that we all have a future and that we all together find it."

Her fresh approach and brave stand against the Russian state is likely a welcome breath of fresh air for many of the civilians living there now.

Just last week, the president faced a fresh embarrassment when he hosted his first TV call-in show since his failing war began.

The closely-regulated "Direct Line with Vladimir Putin" saw civilians and journalists ask him questions live on air.

Despite trying to talk his way out of some of the trickier lines of questioning, including some on falsely imprisoned Evan Gershkovich, Putin couldn't avoid this humiliation.

Messages from angry citizens popped up on a huge screen in front of him, asking: ''Why is your 'reality' at odds with our lived reality?" and telling him to "quit".

One even said: "Don't run for another term as Russian president – make way for the young!"

But the dictator will no doubt win again in the so-called elections scheduled for March next year.

He has twice changed Russia's constitution to extend his time in power, and could well sit at the head of the table until his mid-80s.

Since former president Boris Yeltsin handed him the keys in 1999, Putin has served as president for longer than any other Russian ruler with the exception of Josef Stalin.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have been married for eight years. They have an almost-four-year-old daughter, Raddix (she’s four in January). Last year, Cameron re-entered the movie biz after taking almost a decade off. Back in 2020, she branched out and launched a zero-sugar, organic grape-based wine label called “Avaline.” In a recent appearance on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast to promote Avaline, Cameron let it slip that her husband, Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden, is a snorer, which prompted her to share her ideal living situation: separate bedrooms!

“We should normalize separate bedrooms,” Cameron said after one ladies admitted that her husband snores.

“To me, I would literally, I have my house, you have yours,” Cameron explained. “We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go sleep in your room. I’m fine.”

She added, “And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations.”

When one of the hosts joked that the revelation might be controversial, Cameron joked that she can’t take it back now.

“I’ve already said it,” Cameron said, before clarifying, “By the way, I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married.”.

[From Just Jared]

I don’t think this is controversial at all! I think we can all relate to this sentiment at some point or other. I’m also a snorer (I’m actually doing one of those at-home sleep apnea studies in March; I’ve heard they’re awful) and Mr. Rosie sometimes jokes about wanting his own room on the nights where the pink noise app doesn’t drown me out, lol. I say to each their own. There are societal norms that change throughout the times, but there’s no set rules that couples have to adhere to in order to be in a “good” relationship. Relationships are built on love, trust, and mutual respect. If you want to sleep in separate bedrooms and that works for both of you, then sleep in separate bedrooms! Relationships can be as conventional or unconventional as you mutually agree upon. I’m not proposing you go all Will-and-Jada on it, but you and your partner have to do what works best for the two of you.

Josie Gibson is said to be a frontrunner to replace Holly Willoughby as the host of Dancing on Ice.

This Morning host Josie has just emerged from the jungle on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, but it seems like she could land herself another lucrative TV venture.

It's believed ITV bosses think Josie would be a great hit for the ITV skating show as she was a hit with viewers on I'm A Celeb. But it's alleged producers hope Holly will sign up to do the show and are "nervous" about it as the start date approaches.

A TV insider told The Sun: "Josie’s stint in the jungle shows she has the perfect blend of humility, confidence, humour and unflappability. And she’s already proved she’s able to handle live TV during her time as a co-host on This Morning where she’s also developed quite a following among viewers.

"ITV will be hoping she’ll bring that popularity across to Dancing On Ice, if she ends up bagging the job in Holly’s absence. ITV are still hoping Holly will sign up.

"But the situation remains up in the air and nervous producers are now counting down to the start in days rather than weeks. There are several figures who could fill Holly’s role but Josie very much stands out."

They added: "Even if producers pick a potential Plan B, it will all depend on the availability of the potential candidates." Stephen Mulhern is believed to be replacing Phillip Schofield's role as co-host Dancing on Ice.

Schofield quit ITV earlier this year after admitting to an affair with a younger male runner on This Morning. Holly left This Morning in October.

This Morning host Rochelle Humes is also reportedly in the running for the Dancing on Ice job, as is Christine Bleakley, who hosted Dancing on Ice from 2012 and 2014. Daily Star has contacted ITV for comment.

‘He’s A Liar!’ Piers Morgan Blasts Omid Scobie

Piers Morgan has been slamming Lioness star Mary Earps since she won BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year earlier this week, with the journalist claiming she didn’t deserve the award.

He initially aired his opinion through an article on the Talk TV site shortly after the winner was revealed, writing: “The heavy hand of box-ticking looms large over this victory. It feels to me that the Sports Personality Award is becoming the national equivalent of a participation medal. Didn’t they all do well?”

Taking the subject to his Talk TV show, the 58-year-old made a staggering revelation as he admitted that despite his reaction to the results he hadn’t used his chance to share his opinion on the topic before the announcement.

Sports journalist Bianca Westwood joined Piers’ panel on Wednesday evening and after the host finished his initial monologue she simply questioned while shooting Piers a wicked side-eye: “Did you vote?”

When Piers revealed he hadn’t joined the public vote, Bianca slammed: “Well if you care so much about it why didn’t you?”

The former News of the World editor tried to explain his choice not to vote saying: “Ever since the British public voted to name a boat Boaty McBoatface, I realised they couldn’t be trusted.”

Piers then added that as an “impartial” reporter he doesn’t take part in public votes.

Swiftly moving on, Piers questioned the sports reporter: “Did she deserve to win? Prince William was on Twitter today saying ‘hugely well deserved’, why was it hugely well deserved?”

Bianca explained that the criteria for the award only look at the nominees’ sporting achievements over the past year and the impact of those achievements beyond the sport itself.

Piers argued: “She’s the only loser of the seven nominees,” pointing out that the goalkeeper hadn’t been part of a winning team in professional competitions over the past year.

However, Bianca highlighted: “I’ll tell you what she did win: She won the World Cup Golden Glove, the FA Player of the Year, the FIFA Women’s World Best Goalkeeper, England Women’s Player of the Year, WSL Golden Glove as well, she also won the Arnold Clark Cup.”

While Piers tried to return to the row back to his original statement, questioning how many competitions Mary had won rather than achievements, Bianca slammed: “If any England male player had won any of those, especially if they’d won all of them, I don’t think we’d be having this discussion.

“It’s also about the impact, you can’t say that Mary Earps doesn’t have an impact in her field of play.”

This final statement seemed to hit home for the Piers Morgan Uncensored host as he admitted Bianca had an “interesting point”.

  • Labour dismissed the comments denied plans to join ‘any EU quota scheme’

Sir Keir Starmer’s plan to join an EU-wide returns agreement would mean ‘tens of thousands more illegal migrants coming to the UK’, the Home Secretary claimed yesterday.

James Cleverly said the Labour leader would join an EU migration pact and ‘accept forced illegal migrant quotas from the EU’.

But Labour dismissed his comments and said the party ‘won’t be joining any EU quota scheme’.

Sir Keir revealed in the autumn that he would seek an EU-wide returns agreement for asylum seekers who come to Britain if he becomes prime minister.

Labour has since said the scheme would not be based on quotas nor would it be part of an existing scheme.

Sir Keir revealed in the autumn that he would seek an EU-wide returns agreement for asylum seekers who come to Britain if he becomes prime minister

Yesterday the EU agreed to overhaul its asylum system to share out the cost and work of hosting migrants more evenly across the bloc.

The plan includes more border detention centres and speedier deportations in a bid to limit the number of people coming in.

Mr Cleverly seized on the announcement of the pact, writing on X, formely known as Twitter, that Sir Keir ‘wants to join this’.

The Home Secretary said: ‘He would accept forced illegal migrant quotas from the EU. This would mean tens of thousands more illegal migrants coming to the UK. We cannot accept this.’

But Stephen Kinnock, Labour’s shadow immigration minister, said: ‘This is made-up rubbish, we’ve made it clear we won’t be joining any EU quota scheme.

‘The Tories are so keen to distract from their own disastrous failings on Rwanda, small boats and asylum that now they are just lying about Labour.

‘The Tories have undermined our border security, broken our asylum system and bust the Home Office budget. The country cannot afford more of this Conservative chaos.

‘Labour has a serious plan to smash the criminal gangs with a new cross-border police unit, recruit 1000 new caseworkers to clear the backlog and end hotel use, and set up a new Returns Unit to ensure that those with no right to be here are swiftly returned.’

James Cleverly said the Labour leader would join an EU migration pact and ‘accept forced illegal migrant quotas from the EU’

Migrant arrivals in the EU are down from the 2015 peak of more than a million, but have steadily crept up from a 2020 low to 255,000 in the year to November (File Image)

The EU’s New Pact on Migration and Asylum should start taking effect next year, when it is expected to be formally adopted by the European Council and European Parliament.

Migrant arrivals in the EU are down from the 2015 peak of more than a million, but have steadily crept up from a 2020 low to 255,000 in the year to November, with more than half crossing the Mediterranean from Africa, mainly to Italy.

Previous efforts to share out the responsibility of hosting migrants have foundered because eastern member states were unwilling to take in people who had arrived in Greece, Italy and other countries.

Under the new system, countries not at the border will have to choose between accepting their share of 30,000 asylum applicants or paying at least 20,000 euros (£17,300) per person into an EU fund.

The screening system envisaged will seek to distinguish between those in need of international protection and others who are not.

People whose asylum applications have a low chance of success, such as those from India, Tunisia or Turkey, can be prevented from entering the EU and detained at the border, as can people seen as representing a threat to security.

Brianna Ghey was not murdered because she was transgender, detectives told the Mail.

But she was ‘dehumanised’ by her killers, who knew she was struggling mentally, and targeted her because her transgender status made her vulnerable.

Detective Superintendent Mike Evans, head of crime at Cheshire police, said he believed Girl X and Boy Y were determined to kill someone and, if they hadn’t murdered Brianna, would have targeted someone else on their so-called ‘kill list.’

The trial was told that four boys, who the defendants had petty disagreements with, were named on a list of children they ‘wanted rid of’ in January this year.

Girl X set up a fake Instagram account to target one of them, a teenager known as Boy E, but when he failed to take the bait she turned her attention to Brianna instead.

‘If it was not Brianna, it would have been one of the other four children on the list,’ Mr Evans said.

The Trial…takes listeners behind the headlines and into the courtrooms of some of the biggest trials in the world.

The first series ‘The Trial of Lucy Letby’ was a global hit, with more than 13 million downloads, while season two focused on the murder of Ashling Murphy, a 23-year-old teacher from Ireland.

Its third season follows the tragic case of Brianna Ghey, a 16-year-old transgender girl killed in Warrington, England.

Follow the evidence as the jury hears it, in twice-weekly reports from The Daily Mail’s Northern Correspondent Liz Hull and broadcast journalist Caroline Cheetham.

‘It is just Brianna was the one who was accessible at that time and the focus of those desires.

‘In a strange way Girl X was obsessed with Brianna, almost attracted and intrigued by her.

‘With Boy Y, there is some really horrific and dehumanising transphobic comments.

‘Brianna was not killed because she was transgender, but the fact that she was transgender made her a bit more vulnerable and accessible.

‘Whoever they had attacked that day they would have shown that level of contempt and disrespect for, there is nothing to suggest it was a worse attack because Brianna was transgender.’

In one of the messages, Girl X told Boy Y: ‘She has a dick lol.’

He responded: ‘Is it a femboy or a tranny?.’

He also repeatedly referred to Brianna as ‘it’ instead of using her correct pronoun.

Initially, immediately after Brianna’s murder, in February, police said her murder was not ‘hate’ related.

But a few days into the inquiry they admitted her transgender status may have been a factor.

Mr Evans said it would be up to the judge, Mrs Justice Yip, to determine whether the murder was aggravated by Brianna being transgender or there was a hate element to the crime when she sentences Girl X and Boy Y in the New Year.

‘Whether the murder was aggravated by hostility toward someone who is trans gender is a matter for the court,’ Mr Evans said.

‘We prosecuted it for what it was – a murder.

‘Those messages were sent and that language was used but it is a matter for the court to decide whether the offence was aggravated.’

Can Joey Barton REALLY lecture Mary Earps with his controversial track record? From attacking teammates with lit cigars, being jailed for assault and ‘sexist’ social media rants against women pundits
  • Barton dubbed Earps a ‘big sack of spuds’ after she scooped the sports award

When English football hero Mary Earps collected her Sports Personality of the Year gong, it was meant to be a night of celebration. Instead, it was met by a vitriolic response from some – including one-time England international, Joey Barton.

The controversial League One football manager lashed out after goalkeeping star Earps, 30, scooped the prestigious BBC title ahead of a host of sporting champions in other fields.

Bitter Barton dubbed Earps – who was named the world’s best female goalkeeper after her heroics in the Women’s World Cup final – a ‘big sack of spuds’, as other critics claimed the achievements of other nominees like Stuart Broad, Frankie Dettori and Ronnie O’Sullivan ‘far outweighed’ those of ‘Mary Queen of Stops’.

‘To win before Ronnie O’Sullivan and Frankie Dettori…? Well, that’s just madness to me. Both almost genius like in their respective fields. They’ve lost to a big sack of spuds that plays in goal for a girls team,’ Barton tweeted.

‘That’s the world we live in. This all started with the ‘Everyone’s a Winner’ sport’s days. This is what happens when you celebrate mediocre [sic]. You breed this weak culture. A culture of losers. A culture of snowflakes.’

Joey Barton led a chorus of questions over why Earps, 30, claimed the top prize ahead of a host of champions in other fields, claiming she had ‘not won a sausage’, after her England side were defeated in the World Cup final

It’s just the latest in a long string of controversies, which has seen ‘bad boy’ Barton jailed for assault and branded a ‘sexist’ for his online rants against female pundits commenting on the ‘beautiful game’.

Former Manchester City and Newcastle star Barton was blasted earlier this month after he demanded Lioness hero Alex Scott ‘shouldn’t commentate on the men’s game’, during an outburst on X – formerly Twitter.

His ‘sexist’ tirade included saying female football pundits commenting on the men’s game was the same as him ‘talking about knitting or netball’ – as he branded those who disagreed with him as ‘fart parcels’ and ‘eunuchs’.

Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Barton then sought to defend his comments, again rounding on Scott and claiming she wasn’t qualified enough to commentate about the men’s game as she had never played in it.

When grilled about his views. Barton said ‘she hasn’t played in it’, adding: ‘One is 200 years old and one is about 40 years old… it’s the same rules but football is about a lot more than rules… The games are at two different speeds.’

Barton said it was the same as him commentating on Formula One just because he can drive a car.

It’s far from the first time he has sparked controversy, though. In 2004 Barton jabbed a cigar in the eye of fellow Man City squad member Jason Tandy during a boozy Christmas do.

Barton said his outburst was sparked after youth star Tandy provoked him, setting fire to his T-shirt in the run-up to the scuffle, which led to the footballing bad-boy being fined six weeks’ wages and an apology to despondent boss Kevin Keegan.

Speaking earlier this month about the incident, Barton told the Anything Goes With James English podcast. ‘We were on the booze all day Sunday morning, and I think Paul Bosvelt or [Robbie] Fowler started it. They were all in fancy dress in this bar and started setting each other’s costumes alight.

Barton explained on the podcast why he lashed out at Tandy during the boozy Christmas bash

He recalled sticking a cigar in Jamie Tandy’s eye in 2004 – but says his Man City teammate (pictured) had set his T-shirt on fire to provoke him

‘So it was the seniors who started it, just burning the edge of it. In five or 10 minutes it went round the whole group and then it stopped.

‘I’d burned Tandy’s costume. Someone had got me, and then I’d burned Tandy back – no malice in it. He didn’t have the opportunity to get me back, everything gets calmed down, lighters are confiscated off everybody by the security.’

Four years later and Barton found himself yet again under the spotlight after a training ground brawl with ex-teammate, Ousmane Dabo, which saw wannabe hardman Barton slapped with a six-match ban by the FA in 2008.

Hot-headed Barton left the Frenchman distraught after pummeling him, leaving the wounded football star feeling like the ‘Elephant Man’ due to the swelling on his face.

Barton admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm after Dabo was left with cuts and bruises as well as a detached retina, and given a four-month suspended sentence.

Speaking to The Sun after the attack, Dabo said: ‘When I woke up this morning I looked at myself in the mirror with my face all swollen up and I looked like the Elephant Man.

‘I’ve never known anything like this before in my career.’

Barton started his career at Manchester City and said that he got into a fight with Tandy and his brother after scorching his team-mate’s eyelid

That same year, Barton was sentenced to six months behind bars for common assault and affray following an incident in Liverpool city centre.

It came after a furious Barton was caught on CCTV punching a man 20 times and breaking a teenager’s teeth.

The one-time England star was already on bail over an allegation of criminal damage involving a Liverpool taxi driver and the earlier fight with Dabo, when the book was thrown at him for his violent attack.

He was convicted of assault and served 77 days in prison.

Barton has been as fiery on the pitch as off it. In 2012, he was slapped with a 12-game ban after elbowing Carlos Tevez in the throat during Premier League clash between his new team QPR and former side Man City.

He also kicked out at Sergio Aguero, before a red card was shown and he squared up to Vincent Kompany and Mario Balotelli as he left the pitch.

As well as his ‘sexist’ rants against female pundits on social media, Barton has also clashed heads with his male counter-parts online, too.

Following Barton’s sending off and ban during that chaotic 2012 clash, Match of the Day pundits Alan Shearer, Alan Hansen and Gary Lineker blasted his behaviour.

Not happy with their scathing critic, Barton took to Twitter and wrote: ‘I’d take it off Hansen and @GaryLineker but not from that bell, same fella that stamped on Neil Lennon, then threatened FA if they banned him.”

He added: ‘I really don’t like that p****, in fact I honestly despise him… Goodnight.’

Lineker later defended Shearer, responding: ‘Still raging then? Still kicking out? And still, presumably, misunderstood? But only by yourself I suspect.’

To which bitter Barton responded, calling the former England captain an ‘odious little toad’.

In October last year, Barton was cleared of assaulting his wife after a judge ruled he could not have a fair trial because prosecutors would not call her to give evidence.

The ex-Premier League midfielder, was accused of pushing Georgia Barton, 36, to the floor before kicking her during a drunken row at their home in in Kew, south-west London on June 2, 2021.

Mrs Barton, who is said to have been left with a golf-ball sized bruise on her forehead and a bleeding nose, was ‘audibly upset and shaken’, when she dialled 999 just before 11.15pm, Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court heard.

‘My husband has just hit me in the house,’ she said, telling the call handler she had been left with a ‘bloody nose’ after Barton hit her ‘just in the face’, before officers arrived at the scene within 25 minutes.

Body-worn footage played in court captured Mrs Barton saying: ‘I was pushed and kicked about and stuff.’

The officer noted ‘a bit of a lump and some blood’, while speaking to a female officer in a utility room around five minutes later, Mrs Barton said her husband ‘just flipped out’ and ‘threw me down’.

The Duchess of Edinburgh was a hit with children and adults alike as she volunteered at a Christmas party for Ukrainian refugees this week.

Sophie, 58, cut a casual figure in a black polo neck jumper as she chatted to families, served festive food and painted children’s faces at The Lighthouse in Woking, Surrey.

The royal paired her laid back ensemble with black trousers and added a gold chain.

The event included music from the Ukrainian band Atmasfera, a visit from Sviatyij Mykolai (Saint Nicholas), and a Ukrainian puppeteer.

The charity, of which the Duchess became patron earlier this year, hosts a range of projects in central Woking and Barnsbury to support, encourage and empower those who find themselves in need.

The charity, which also runs Woking Foodbank and the Jigsaw baby bank, will be supporting around 4,000 local people who will find Christmas tough this year.

It’s Christmas Kindness appeal includes food hampers, toy vouchers for children, winter warming items, clothing, toiletries, a meal on Christmas Day and more.

It’s not the first time that Sophie has visited the charity as she baked mince pies and packed Christmas care packages for the Woking charity in 2021.

The royal got stuck in during the visit, serving breakfast to beneficiaries of the charity and helping to pack essential items for children in need over the festive season.

She was seen baking festive treats, heating up croissants and serving spiced apple juice in the Lighthouse kitchen before chatting to locals during the visit.

She later helped pack care packages for children, all of whom have been referred to us by local support workers and service providers, containing items like shower gel and toys.

The Lighthouse is a charity seeking to tackle widespread poverty and undergo a variety of projects for the local community, including offering free haircuts for men and advice for those suffering with debt.

The royal also got involved in some arts and crafts with Ukrainian children who live locally

Last year the royal looked the picture of joy as she cuddled adorable babies at a local parenting group in the Jigsaw Hub at The Lighthouse.

Sophie beamed in delight as she met with local new mothers and their babies as she opened the new Jigsaw Hub which is just a few miles from her Bagshot Park home.

The Lighthouse’s new hub is supporting the community by offering a safe space for mothers to meet.

It hosts a range of projects aiming to support, encourage and empower marginalised and vulnerable members of society through offering training and providing care packages and food.
