Betty C. Swidzinski, 99, of Butler, PA, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was greeted in heaven by her late husband, Albert, to celebrate his birthday.

She was born on July 5, 1927 to the late Albert Yost and Margaret (Rocheisen) Yost.

She loved to cook and bake, and no one ever left her home hungry. A wonderful host, she could always whip up a meal in minutes, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew they were never leaving without a cookie. She also enjoyed polka dancing, her card club, and a good game of 500 Bid.

Above all, she was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her family never doubted how deeply she loved them. She was always present, always ready to listen, and her wonderful stories will be treasured and remembered for years to come.

She is survived by sons, Gary Swidzinski and Rodney (Frances) Swidzinski; grandchildren, Tim Swidzinski, Corey Swidzinski, Jami (Jeff) Conaway and Debi (Alex) Giocondo; great grandchildren, Ryan, Raegan, Evan, Blake, Jackson, and Ethan; daughter-in-law, Carol Mays, and a special niece, Pam Dreher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Swidzinski; son, Larry Swidzinski; granddaughter Chrisi Swidzinski; sisters, Hilda Hydak and Gertrude Hattz; and brother William “Bill” Yost.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Kathy, Bonnie, Sherri, Jane, and Donna.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA, with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Gruenwald Cemetery.

Thelma Jean (T.J.) Ford, 86, of Butler, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 7th, 2026.

She was born and raised in West Sunbury, PA on June 7, 1940 to the late Paul Wilson and Edna Mae (Stamm) Wilson.

She graduated from West Sunbury High School, a small, one-room schoolhouse. Thelma was a Sunday School teacher for West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church before becoming active members at Community Alliance Church. She proudly volunteered for North Washington Flames & Flickers Marching Drill Team. After raising her children, she had a few jobs including cafeteria worker, and floral designing for different flower shops.

Thelma enjoyed cake decorating and traveling. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family. Her love, dedication, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, James (Cheryl) Ford and Robert (Dee) Ford; daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Hall and Kendra (Harry Jr.) Boozel, and grandchildren, Cassie Ford, Matt Ford, Joshua (Alina) Hall, Kayla (Nick) Hedderick, Megan Boozel, and Cooper Boozel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Daye Ford, whom she married March 4, 1961 and passed away on February 3, 2022; son, Daniel K. Ford; sisters, Pauline Wilson, Janet Wilson, and Helen Edinboro, and daughter-in-law, Julianne (Smith) Ford.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001, with a funeral service immediately following at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Thompson officiating.

Thelma will be laid to rest at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

Linda M Nye, age 77, of Portersville, peacefully passed away on Monday morning, September 7, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
Born June 14,1949 in Ellwood City; she was the daughter of the late Edward D and Kathleen P LeFebvre Kelley.
She was employed at Adam’s Manufacturing in Portersville for 27 years where she retired as a warehouse manager.
Family meant the most to Linda, she enjoyed get togethers and parties with her family and friends. She was an avid Steelers fan and she loved music and dancing.
She is survived by her loving children Marie (Tim Gallagher) Stefko of New Castle and Chris (Shannon) Nye of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren Casey (Crystal) Pistorius, Cody Pistorius, Stephanie Nye, Brittany (Anthony)Belczyk, Chloe (Caleb) Geyer, and Zoey Nye; seven great grandchildren Mylie, Carson, Richard, Blayke, Paris, Luka, and Isiah; three sisters Patty Painter, Mary Lechner, and Kathy Hempfling; two sisters in law Jeannetta Nye Arnold and Doll Nye; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Nye, who passed away May 10, 2006; son George Nye, Jr.; an infant son; her granddaughter Tiffany Nye; and her siblings Ed “Joe” Kelley, Rose Dean, and Diane Toney.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 11,2026 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm with a conclusion service to follow at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.

Rebecca “Becky” Jean (Hahn) Bianchi, 77, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, surrounded by love and family after a courageous journey with cancer.

Born January 26, 1949, to the late Earl and Anna (Stepp) Hahn, she lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an extraordinary capacity to care for the people she loved. She was truly one of the sweetest souls, with a gentle spirit and a way of making those around her feel loved and cared for.

Many people in the community also knew and loved her from her years working in the men’s suits department at JCPenney, where her warmth, kindness, and helpful nature touched the lives of countless customers and coworkers.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim, with whom she shared 32 years of love and life together; her daughter and only child, Tracy Bordelon and her husband, Benjamin; her grandson, Joshua Friel; her brother, Rick (Chris) Hahn; her sisters, Janet Hoffman, Patricia Daum, and Rose Terlisner; sister-in-law, Ann Marie (Tom) Richard; her stepson, Michael (Lisa) Bianchi, several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Earl “Butch” Hahn; and her sisters, Diane Goehring and Doris Smith.

More than anything, she will be remembered for the person she was. She was kind and compassionate, loving and generous, and deeply devoted to her family. Her sweetness was not something she simply showed on occasion. It was part of who she was. She loved the people in her life wholeheartedly, and they knew it.

Rickie Lee “Dickie” Neff, 63, of Petrolia, peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, after an 18-month battle with glioblastoma.
Born June 18, 1963, in Butler, he was a son of the late William Leo “George Benson” Neff and Theresa Diane Kusner Neff.
Dickie graduated from Moniteau High School in 1982.
He worked in maintenance for Montgomery Ward as well as other endeavors over the years, but he mostly spent his time doting on his loving wife, Shawnee Mauthe Neff, whom he married Nov. 25,1995.
He loved woodworking and enjoyed building projects. An avid gardener, he excelled at growing vegetables, which he would preserve and give to family. He enjoyed collecting antiques and had many “priceless” treasures.
Dickie cherished his family vacations where memories were made, including trips to the casino and to Las Vegas. He loved to ride his Harley Softail and drive his Mustang.
He is survived by his wife; three siblings, Edward Neff and his wife, Trina, of Fenelton, Randolph Neff and his wife, Virginia, of Chicora, and Lisa Metrick and her husband, Michael, of Chicora; his godson, with whom he was especially close, Chaz Neff; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his father-in-law, Martin Mauthe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Mauthe.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home Downtown, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, on Friday, Sept. 11, from 12 Noon – 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
A Blessing Service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dickie’s cousin, Rev. Steven V. Neff, officiating.

Thomas James Lydon, 84, of Cabot, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, in the comfort of his home and with his loving family at his side.
Born in Butler, he was a son of the late John E. Lydon and Evelyn M. Stewart Lydon.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as Air Police. This gave him opportunities to travel throughout the United States, Madrid, Spain, and Okinawa, Japan.
He was employed in the Silicon department then later as a welder at AK Steel (formerly Armco) in Butler. He retired in 2004 with 38 years of service. He maintained his connections with his steel mill buddies as he organized an annual Ironworkers Picnic for retirees from 2003 through 2019 so that they could enjoy “Steak-Beer-Bull****.” He continued to meet up with his co-workers once a month for breakfast at Eat’n Park until this year.
He was a member of Sts. Francis and Clare Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. He was a faithful, dedicated volunteer for St. Mary’s Picnic and St. Mary’s Fish Fry, where he operated the Hobart dishwasher for decades.
He belonged to the RC Men’s Club, the Saxonburg Fireman’s Club, American Legion Post 117, and Knights of Columbus Butler Council 866. He was an avid reader and completer of the daily crossword puzzle. He delighted in playing cards, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and Bananagrams with friends and family. He enjoyed entering sweepstakes and found himself to be very lucky, but mostly in love, and he always said, “family is the most important thing.”
Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet S. Orloski Lydon, whom he married Feb. 24, 1968; five children, Charmaine Lydon Betjemann and her husband, Erik, Elaine Lydon, Maria Garde and her husband, Gabriel, Sarah Schlenz and her husband, Timothy, and Andrew Lydon and his wife, Destiney; nine grandchildren, Theresia, Gabriella, Elise, Noel, Jacob, William, Brianna, Finnegan, and Willow; one sister, Mary Zotter and her husband, Dennis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin babies, Anthony Lydon and Janet Lydon; two sisters, Patricia Shields and her husband, Donald, and Martha Lydon; and one brother, John M. Lydon.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home Downtown, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Sts. Francis and Clare Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Rd., Butler, with Rev. James Kurtz, O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
A luncheon will be served at the Herman Firehall immediately after Mass.
Military Honors will be accorded at the church by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249, and VFW Post 499.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Alice B. Sarvey, 83, of Butler passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. She was born in Pittsburgh on May 22, 1943, to the late Charles Grounds II and Agnes Ciz.

Alice was known for being loving, kind, generous, strong willed and faithful. She loved to cook and decorate cakes. Alice enjoyed going on road trips, gardening, painting ceramics and crocheting.

Alice was the beloved wife of the late Silas Sarvey, whom she married on May 21, 1959; mother of Brenda L. (John) Wallace and Christine L. (Robert) Young; sister of Charles Grounds III; grandmother of Amanda Whipkey, Lisa (Barry) Morrison, Faith (Michael) Tebay, John Wallace, Tyler (Brittany) Young, Allison (Cody) Bates, Kelly and Jennifer Sarvey; great grandmother of 15.

Along with her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her son, Carl (Rhonda) Wayne, her sister, Marylou McClimans, and her son-in-law, John.

Lois A. Lingenfelter, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born in Stump Creek, PA on July 24, 1940, to the late George and Mildred (Catteau) Shaffer.

To know Lois was to know a woman whose heart belonged to her family and to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the matriarch of the family, the heart and the glue that held everyone together. Her love reached across generations and to all she met.

Lois was a Deaconess at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. She enjoyed crocheting, game shows and spending time with her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her children: Loree (Jesse) Rumbel, Amy (Eugene) Christy and John (Helen) Lingenfelter; she also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Eugene Christy III, Stephen (Sabrina) and Gavin (Kalie) Lingenfelter, Thomas (Chris), Jason and John Rumbel. Her love continues through her great grandchildren: Eric, Shelby, Haley, Ireland, Piper, Cole, Ava, Nolan, Adley and Ashton.

Along with her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John Lingenfelter, her siblings, and her son-in-law, Eugene W. Christy.

Lorraine Kathryn Worsley, 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 4, 2026 at the Lowrie Place surrounded by family.

She was born December 6, 1933 in Carbon Center/Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Eugene Oesterling and the late Mary Dorothy (Neigh) Oesterling.

She loved God, people, and animals. She lived a very simple life and left with no regrets.

Lorraine graduated from Butler High School and was Co-owner of the family business Worsley’s. She was an avid bridge player and was a bridge Gold Life Master. Lorraine loved bowling, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was involved in multiple card clubs and bowling leagues. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A line that Lorraine lived by was from one of her favorite poems “Tomorrow Never Comes” by Norma Cornett Marek, “Take time to say “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” “Thank you,” or “It’s OK.” And if tomorrow never comes, You’ll have no regrets about today.”

She is survived by her two daughters Keri (Sean) Dolan, of Butler, PA, Cheryl (Jayme) Worsley-Simms, of Butler PA, five grandchildren, Brent Rothen, Joshua Dolan, Michael Simms, Ashton (Brandon) Doughty, Brandon Dolan; six great-grandchildren, Zion (Esther) Opperman, Zach Rothen, Anthony Buzzelli, Hampton Doughty, Sutter Dolan, and Freya Dolan; sister-in-law, June Oesterling, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her beloved sister, Rosalee Ann Stepulla.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Worsley, whom she married on October 6, 1956, and who passed away on October 23, 2010. She is also preceded in death by three brothers Glenn, Gerald, and Dale Oesterling; and one granddaughter, Cerise Rothen.

All services were held privately per her wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Denise Ann (Wolthers) Jewell, age 65, of New Castle, passed away Sunday morning, September 6, 2026, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an illness.
Born March 30, 1961, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Dolores Ann Vogan Wolthers and the late Harold Arthur Wolthers.
She was a 1979 graduate of Slippery Rock Area High School. Following high school, she married, raised a family, and worked in the billing department at Noga Ambulance.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Denise enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed baking, crafts, knitting, growing flowers, gardening, watching fireworks, and visiting Moraine State Park for boat rides and festivals. She also loved her dog, Tucker.
She is survived by her loving husband, Curtis Jewell, whom she married August 3, 1996; her children, Tyler (Addison) Jewell of Volant and Heather (Gordon Yoder) Jewell of Eastbrook; her mother, Dolores Wolthers of Portersville; siblings, Ray Wolthers of Portersville and Dorothy Hamilton of Evans City; brothers-in-law, Howard Jewell and Scott Jewell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold, and her brother-in-law, Steve Hamilton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PC, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Raisley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jason Sinagra, pastor of Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Currie Road, Slippery Rock, PA.
