I’m sorry you have been hurt by atheists that have “shot down” your statements. Perhaps they were just trying to present alternative explanations to you, and it came off the wrong way. Regardless, don’t ever be afraid to post here. LX is very respectful and runs a good site. I hope to see your comments in here more often.
]]>Funny that Jesus, who is also god, had no problem punishing all of us when Adam and Eve ate off that tree. I didn’t take a bite, and neither did you, yet all of us are being punished because of what we did. Your god has punished literally every single human being since Adam and Eve for something they had nothing to do with. That is the single greatest wrongdoing in all of human history….
]]>What about it? Sometimes people break the law and get away with it. No one likes that (except the law breaker obviously), but we don’t live in a perfect world. All we can do, as societies and countries, is try to bring justice for victims as much as possible.
At least the atheist’s view is realistic. Let’s not forget that the god of the Bible made all the descendants of Adam and Eve live in this imperfect world because of what they did. I didn’t take a bite out of the apple, and neither did you, yet we are punished for their sin? Gods aren’t guaranteed justice either. Ask all the first born in Egypt about that.
]]>I was a non-believer –or atheist, I guess. My parents were both atheists, as were my grandparents etc. way on back. I became a Christian when I met Christ — it was totally supernatural. I can’t explain and I’m not going to try, but whether Bryan made any $ or not, what happened to him was as he said. Again, I’m not going to explain as in my experience it doesn’t matter what I say, anyone can decide that I became a Christian for reasons that have nothing to do with Christ. After my experience (which involved no trauma whatsoever — it happened when I was quite young and my sister and I were sitting in the back of the car with my dad and stepmother in front — they had no idea anything was happening) I told my dad and he dismissed it as, “teenagers are always having religious experiences” and we never mentioned it again. He looked amused when I said grace (silently) before meals after that. My stepmother was/is strongly strongly opposed to anything Christian. So anyway just to say, it doesn’t have to have anything to do with trauma, although I guess you could say I was looking, i.e. searching. I suppose that could qualify as trauma if you want. It was over 45 years ago and it is still powerfully real in my memory. It was so amazing — just, well I can’t explain. And I’ve been shot down by enough atheists since that I’m not going to try. Thanks for letting me reply though — here.
]]>What about the punishment for bad deeds, and crimes, that go unsolved and therefore the judicial system cannot administer any form of justice for?
]]>Armin I would love to speak with you regarding Herman Uys
I worked for him for 5 years has got a lot of stories to add to your comments.
My name is Zenda and my cell number is 082 479 4554.
John, what a lot of “sour grapes!”
]]>My Christian friends who commented above have a good command of English as well as a wonderful knowledge of God–plus an understanding of the so-called atheists they contend with. I have been helped by your comments, friends–despite that I am an ex-missionary to Thailand (27 years) and Cambodia (25)–and am now over 80 years old. Hallelujah!!!
]]>If he did this for money after he was traumitised, I don’t think God will let him into paradise. he experienced something that only he can describe to the best of his ability. Who are you to judge him on his personal experiences and call him a liar. This is the devil’s work to destroy the innocent thoughts of men and woman like him who want to show the world what is happening and indeed we hear more and more stories. God is trying to enter everyone and he will and for what you accuse him of, I really hope he gets to you next!!!!!! I really do not believe someone would lie about something like this because if he or she does, it means they are getting in God’s way and God will indeed stop them in their tracks!!!!!!
]]>Why did you tell Gerald to cool off? There was no anger that I could tell of, in what he was asking..
