About

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research (CIER) at Lakehead University is hosting the 1st Annual Lakehead Business Research Showcase.

We invite you to participate in this event by submitting an abstract for inclusion in our poster session at the event. We are interested in hearing about innovative projects related to any of the diverse topics associated with research in business and management.

The event will be held on February 27th between 7pm and 9pm in the CASES Building on Lakehead University (Thunder Bay) campus. Students, faculty members, funders, and members of the community are invited to attend this event.

All abstracts will receive a review by faculty members associated with the CIER. However, only 20 will be accepted.

Student submissions may qualify for free poster printing, provided by CityStudio Thunder Bay.

Submission Types

We invite the following submissions:

  • Undergraduate (ie HBComm/BComm/BAdmin) student projects
  • Graduate (ie MSc/MBA) student projects
  • Projects from faculty associated with FOBA or CIER

We invite abstracts on project proposals, preliminary results or completed research.

CIER does not claim any copyright on submitted work.

Criteria

Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:

  • The research addresses a significant problem
  • The research uses an innovative theory and/or approach
  • The research contributes/will contribute to new and valuable knowledge
  • The writing of the abstract is high-quality

Important Dates

  • Open for Submissions: January 16th, 2025
  • Closed for Submissions: February 10th, 2025
  • Notifications: February 17th, 2025
