Spot on! The soundcloud edit scene is one of the worst examples of all the slop thats plaguing the whole landscape of harder dance music. I miss the old gatekeeping model of proper labels that would keep this shit at bay.

This site is invested in a culture, the folks at soundcloud and youtube are modern consumers for the most part that cannot even differentiate the simple stuff but wants their feelings aknowledged as if they could. Just tune into a live chat of a stream broadcast on youtube and read the trash that gets drooled on the keyboards. Seeing parts of the culture going to sheit leads to complaining. Its always the Gatekeepers vs. the Snowflakes. And another gimmicky edit on someone elses great work (frikkin D-Sturb) is something bland. And Gatekeeping is needed, not all the time and for any shitty edit, if you dont want tourists and trends to enshittificate what you are passionate about. Thats part of whats wrong, as always its much more complex and just a part-truth. Its not a sad but a dedicated life. Disliking something is equally valid as liking it. Thinking just because people hate what you like means them having sad lives is kinda dumb, but think whatever you want. Freedom of speech. But ofc also in ways that might displease another, otherwise its just fake.

The rating at the top doesn't mean anything, since you can vote multiple times; in fact, the more ratings you give it, the more it gets boosted in rankings like "most rated," and so on.

Personally, I like this version; I think the hate on this site is just nonsense. There are plenty of tracks that don't appeal to me either—I just don't download them. I have no idea why people feel the need to hate like that; they must lead very sad lives.
