Hi P
For instance there is a sphinx with a very specific face. The bodies aren’t idealised greek forms. There is more detail in the breast and pubic areas, yes! The faces look like the woman next door or the bloke down the pub. It’s in Venice till 3 December at Punta Della Dogana and Palazzo Grassi.

When you say ‘The anatomical detail of these sculptures is created with a modern eye’ are you referring to the lack of pubic hair in the female nude?
Lovely piece! I wish I had gone to see it in Venice too.

In reply to Louise Allen. Thanks Lou! The British Museum is always a fascinating place to go. I'm pleased to say they have security checks before you enter the building. Good thing considering everything they have inside. I'm glad you and Nico bought those drawings as I will see them again. Some things Ive sold I haven't set eyes on for 25 years and probably will never see again. cx

Lovely piece of writing Charlotte. It has inspired me to go to the British Museum and to revisit La Pieta next time i’m in Rome. Looking forward to hanging the drawings we purchased on Sunday from your exhibition at the Ice House in Holland Park.

Hi Charlotte, thought I’d look you up on the internet and found via an illustration – love your work – a good website too.
I remeber this potrait- sharing that very dark studio wth Laura.
Hope you and your family are well.
Im trying to get ready for a show in Putney – not very confident – its all a bit scrappy with no focus . I enjoy the frame making though . Maybe you might be able to come along to the private view – its always nice to meet up with old friends get drunk and commisserate at the poor sales and bitch about the really successful painters hee hee! Its on the 6th April 2016( Russell Gallery).Love to hear from you J x
