Daniel Buck Soules has been involved in
the sale and appraisal of Antiques and Fine Art since the early 1970’s. He
started his career in the family antiques business as a very young man and
began auctioneering in 1975. With more than forty years of auction and
estate sales experience Mr. Soules specializes in Americana, principally 18th
and 19th centuries, Shaker items and 19th and 20th
century paintings. Daniel has been involved with museums, organizations, and
historical commissions throughout New England for over twenty years.
Mr. Soules appeared for eleven years as
an independent appraiser in Decorative Arts and Collectibles on the PBS
television program “Antiques Roadshow”.

Architectural Historian and Author Scott Hanson will present Restoring Your Historic House: The Comprehensive Guide for Homeowners on Saturday November 2nd from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Mr. Hanson is a Maine based artist,
author, and architectural historian who lives in the 19th century
home, Whitten House in the Mid-coast. Scott has built his career around Maine’s
historic architecture with a stint as the city of Portland’s preservation
planner and as consultant on many historic rehabilitation projects. Scott has restored
his own 1828 home, Whitten House, which has been featured on the HGTV program, If
Walls Could Talk. His published works include:

Robin Getchell:
After working as a local floral designer in Central Maine
for over 25 years Robin Samalus-Getchell realized her dream of owning and
operating her own full service flower shop. In June of 2018 The Robin’s Nest,
located in The Hathaway Creative Center at 10 Water St, Waterville ME opened
and offers local and nationwide delivery, floral design classes, the freshest
flowers and most exceptional customer service in the area. Robin has a true
passion for floral design and a genuine desire to be a part of her clients
large and small events and works hard to build a relationship with each and
every customer no matter their budget.

Sunset
Flowerland and Greenhouses is located at 491 Upper Ridge Road Fairfield, Maine.
While it hasn’t always been a greenhouse, flower shop and gift shop, the Ellis
family has had some type of agricultural business at this location for 7
generations. In 1952 the greenhouses were first opened up by Floralie and
Richard Ellis, selling pansies and in the early 70’s a cut flower shop was
added. When Richard and Floralie retired in the 90’s, two of their children,
Cathy and Ken took over, and now Cathy and Kens families are involved in
everyday operations, and will be the next generation to run the business. The
greenhouses come alive in the Spring and Summer when there are 21 greenhouses
full of bedding plants, vegetable plants, trees, shrubs, and perennials along
with a beautiful gift shop to browse around. In the fall we have beautiful
mums, pumpkins, fall decorations and houseplants, and our shop is transformed
into a winter wonderland for Christmas, with Poinsettias, themed Christmas
trees, wreaths, garland, and kissing balls. We have some wonderful florists
here that make the most beautiful flower arrangements! Stop by and see us any
day of the week! Open year round Monday-Saturday 8-5 and Sunday 9-4 (seasonal
hours may vary slightly). The only days we are closed are 4th of July,
Thanksgiving and Christmas. Call us with any questions or flower orders at

Ken’s Family Restaurant:
In 1972 Ken & Martha Dionne opened Ken’s Family Restaurant on Madison Ave. in Skowhegan. Popularity quickly grew with their Famous Fried Chicken and home-style meals served in a family atmosphere.

Renowned Quilt Historian Kathy Kenney will be presenting “The Mill Girls of the 1830’s”, a history presentation through quilts and letters written by the young women who worked in the mills and factories, Saturday November 3rd from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Kathy Kenny originally from Down East Maine developed a love for textiles at a very early age. Kathy is a member or numerous quilt guilds throughout the United States including the Squannicook Quilt Guild, Massachusetts of which she is a founding member. Kathy is a Quilt Historian and loves sharing her knowledge with eager onlookers.
Herb Aldrich will be discussing the “History and identification of 1800’s photography” including: daguerreotypes, Ambrotypes, tintypes, carte-de-visite and cabinet photos. You are invited to bring early photos that you would like to have identified, Saturday November 3rd from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
Herb Aldrich grew up in Waterville Maine and is a graduate of both Thomas College in Waterville with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and the University of Maine, Portland with a Bachelor Degree in Art Education. Herb taught art for 22 years in Readfield Maine. Herb has a passion for all things antique and has been buying and selling antiques for over 35 years.
Long time jewelry collector and enthusiast Jay McCamis will take us on a journey with “Jewelry Through the Ages: Victorian Era to Present Day”. Jay will also be available for verbal jewelry appraisals and questions, Limit 3 items per person, Sunday November 4th 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Jay McCamis is a New England native who attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and grated from Tufts University Museum of Fine Arts, Boston specializing in Jewelry Design & Metal work. Jay owned his own jewelry store on Martha’s Vineyard and has over 40 years of jewelry experience working in and with some of New England’s finest jewelry stores.
