Hello everyone!

I apologize that I’m a little behind getting this out. I’ve been battling the cold from hell the last week and it has been kicking my butt! Not to worry though, I’m feeling much better today and should be right as rain by this weekend! I know a ton of other people are sick right now too so I wish all of you a speedy recovery and be sure to get tons of rest!!

I’ve been booking a ton of gigs lately and quite a few for the band. We’ve decided to change our name since we aren’t all gentlemen anymore. So the new name is Angel Rhodes and The Wilder Ones!!! We thought it was clever since it plays off my new last name and we do like to party it up and have a good time. We’ve also added a new member, Aaron Jackson as the drummer and we are super excited to see how it develops! I’ve already been inspired to write a new song and we’ll be debuting it at our Louisville gig on April 24th at 21st Amendment Tavern in Louisville. Again, it’s super important that we sell as many tickets as we can and pack this place. I hope your week is going well so far! I’ve been working like crazy and enjoying some time with my husband. It’s our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple and he’s already doing sweet things! I’m excited to say that we are going to be filming a music video for “Self Sabotage” in the next few weeks! I’ve been working with BitterSweet Productions and I’m excited for the concept that Jessie came up with. I told him that I didn’t want the video to be the literal translation of the song and he is definitely running with it. I’m looking forward to many more visually stimulating videos in the future as well. He’s definitely a lot more hip than I am, lol! Of course, I’ll let you guys know when it is released!

Hello everyone!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year!! I actually didn’t work on NYE for the first time in 6 years and got to hang out with my hubby. We had a nice relaxing time and got some much needed R & R!!! Now, I’m back at it with full force and gigging my lil tail off.

I’m super excited that later on today, I’ll be jamming with my buddy, Lucas Pate at Lamasco Bar and Grill for Jive after Five. It’s been a long time since I’ve performed at Lamasco and we definitely want to have a great crowd, so come out and see us! We’ve got a couple of new songs and we’ll be performing several originals that you don’t always get to hear. One of them is “Unofficial Sister”, which I wrote about my cousin that passed away, and we just performed it live on ABC Local Lifestyles yesterday. They haven’t released the link yet, so I’ll have to attach it to the next email. But seriously, I’m so proud of us because I think we killed it. Tons of practice does pay off friends!!!

Speaking of practice, I can take on a few new students for the new year. I’ve revamped my lesson style for 2020 to challenge my existing students and I’d love to add a few more. Good morning!

I know, I know…this email is a bit early this month, but I’m going to be out of the country starting tomorrow so I wanted to update you guys before I leave!!! My wedding was friggin beautiful and I was so touched by all that came and reached out to wish us well. And…we found my cat!! She’s been missing over a month and is skin and bones, but she’s home with her mama now!!! I’m so lucky that I have my mother and friends that are going to step up and make sure she is spoiled and fattened up while I’m gone

This next month is going to be so much fun. Not only is it the holiday season, but I get to jam with The Traveling Gents this month!!! We will be rocking out at Evansville Eagles Arie 427 for the very first time on December 20th!!! This is our last gig booked for 2020 so be sure and come out to see us. Danny Metzger, Lucas Pate and Georgia Funkadelic will be joining me on this one and we are gonna break out some oldies for you, so you don’t want to miss out!

Also, I’m currently working on revamping my website. Jared Majors-Manly built my website for me a few years back and it’s way overdue for an overhaul. Hello everyone!

Ummmmmm, where did October go!? I feel like it just flew by!! I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween yesterday…even though it was cold and yucky!!

Well, The Traveling Gents did it again!! We rocked the roof off at Bokeh Lounge and I’m so proud of my band! We worked really hard to make sure that we put on a good show, and you could definitely tell. We even debuted the band version of “Frenemies” and it was a hit! I can’t wait to get back into the studio and get these new songs recorded. Of course, everything is on hold until I get married!!!! I’m taking off the last 2 weeks of November to get married and go on our honeymoon. I am so excited to marry my soulmate. Even though we could not be more opposite, he is the yin to my yang! Not only does he emotionally support me in this crazy life of mine, he even bought me my first 12 string Taylor!!! I never in a million years thought that I would own a guitar that nice and he went a bought it for me for my birthday. So if you see Zach Wilder out, be sure to give him a pat on the back for being friggin amazing!

I’m going to be on the road most of this month, but if you want to catch me in Evansville, the only time you can do that is on the 16th at Carson’s Brewery! I’ve been playing at Carson’s for over 4 years now and they have always been so good to me. Especially since it’s my ONLY local gig this month, come on out and let’s do it up right!!!

Good morning!!!

Well, I survived Vegas, lol! It was so much fun and a much needed break from the every day grind. This month, I’ve hit the ground running, plus my wedding is next month. I’ve been working my booty off, so if you see me out and I’m talking to myself, just move along…nothing to see here!

I mentioned in the last email how well the band did at Bokeh…well guess what guys!? We are booked there again on October 19th!! I’ve got Lucas Pate, Georgia Funkadelic, Danny Metzger II and Cher’Rita Horne with me and we are going to blow the roof off! We’ll also be debuting my new song “Frenemies”. It’s so awesome to see how far this song has come in such a short time. I’ve included the acoustic version below, so be sure and come out on the 19th so that you can hear the band version!!

On a personal note, my little kitty went missing a couple of weeks ago. She’s never been outside before and I’ve been worried sick. I know I try to keep these posts about music, but please check out the pic below and see if you’ve seen her. She’s very small, only about 6 lbs and very shy. She probably won’t come near you unless she’s hungry. If you see her, give me a call and we’ll come catch her! It’s a long shot, but hey…I gotta try, right!?

Hello friends!

Ok, ok…I know I’m 11 days into the month and just now sending this, but your girl is busy! I’ve been busting my hump for months, but now I get to start enjoying the fruits of my labor! I’ll be taking off next week for my bachelorette in Vegas, so pray for me, lol!

This last month was a whirlwind to say the least! I was all over the tri-state and blessed to play at packed venues for a majority of them. Speaking of being packed…we friggin’ KILLED IT at Bokeh Lounge!!! I’m so proud of Lucas Pate, Georgia Funkadelic, Danny Metzger and Cher’Rita Horne for helping me to put on a bad a#$ show. We kept them dancing all night and we will definitely be back there soon!

Music is still going well! My EP is live on every streaming platform you can think of. It’s awesome to hear it pop up on playlists and to hear my friends rocking it in their cars It’s crazy that people go through so much of the stuff that I have been through, or different versions of it. I’ve been writing a ton again and it’s amazing the amount of inspiration you can get from the highs and lows of wedding planning. One day, I’m writing something sappy and the next I’m writing a gritty song calling out wrongs I see in the world. I’m so thankful that I’ve found something that can relieve the stresses of day to day living, I’m also thankful that I have someone that supports my outlet. He totally bought me a gorgeous journal the other day…just saying! #blessed

Anyway, I’m trying to keep this short. We are all busy and I appreciate each of you that take time to read this every month. No matter if it’s a lil late, or a lil short, I’ll still keep writing for y’all! See you at a gig!

August 2019 Gigs!

Good morning everyone!!!

Well…to say I’ve been busy is an understatement at this point. I’m so blessed to be getting gigs left and right, podcasts, interviews and still trying to get ready for my wedding! It’s a crazy time but it’s been super rewarding. And y’all know how I like to stay busy!!!!!

As many of you might already know, my EP is now live and available for download!!! Whether you like to use ITunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, Facebook, YouTube or any other streaming services, I’ve got you covered!!! So far, the response for the EP has been extremely positive. In fact, a simple video that I threw together for “Self Sabotage” hit 1.3K streams within 7 days of it’s release on Facebook! I was very honored for Tommy Ellis at News 4U to cover my EP in this month’s issue. I legit got a little misty eyed reading it. It’s crazy how much work goes into releasing original songs, and I couldn’t have done it without Steve Tyner at Black Cat Recording and the amazing musicians that performed on the record. I put my heart and soul into these songs and it’s surreal to feel like people get it!!! Man, I’m feeling my 4th of July celebration…I hope you guys had as much fun as I did! I’ve been working like a crazy woman lately, so it was really nice to blow of some steam

I was super excited to start off my 4th of July with Ange Humphrey on WEHT Local Lifestyles for the 2nd year in a row!!!! This year, I decided to do my quirky song about drinking and camping. I’ve got another band gig for you this weekend!!! We’ll be rocking out at Roca Bar North this Saturday from 8-11. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain though…Clint, Danny, Georgia and I have been practicing every week for a couple of months now to put on a killer show. Pray for no rain!!!!!

Also, while we are on the topic of the band. I think I’ve finally figured out a name for us! I’ve talked to the guys and they approve, so I think we can officially say the the new band’s name is Angel Rhodes and The Traveling Gents!!! I’m going to wait until we get a few more shows under our belts and then I’ll generate a new band page just for us. Currently, Danny Metzger II is on drums, Georgia Funkadelic is in bass and I’ve been rotating guitar players between Clint Lock, Lucas Pate and sometimes (if I’m lucky, lol) Ryan Lantz! We like the “Traveling Gents” since they are all gentlemen (for the most part, lol), the members are rotating and we travel like crazy! I hope you guys like it, it’s growing on me the more I think on it!

On to what has been on my mind for over 6 months…the EP is DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll be officially releasing it on July 19th on all of your major streaming platforms. I’m also looking to make some music videos for the songs, so if you have anyone that would be interested in making a music video, have them contact me at angelrhodes47714@gmail.com. I have a photo shoot scheduled for this Sunday and I’ve already been scheduling to go on podcasts and different shows to promote the release. I was just a guest on What Do Ya’ Say Now? which is a podcast hosted by Josh Merritt. I had so much fun on this one…we talked about all the random things, plus the EP. June 2019 Gigs

Hello everybody!

Holy guacamole! May went by so friggin fast, I can’t believe it’s already June! The way it’s shaping up, this month is going to be a busy one too. I’m so excited for another fun month of doing what I love!!

This month I have a couple of band gigs for you guys. This Saturday, I will be rocking out with Deja Blu 5 at KC’s Time Out!!! We haven’t gigged together in about a year, and it was so nice to shake the dust off of some of our favorite tunes!! We got together for practice and it was just like old times. We breezed right through the songs and I swear, it was like riding a bike. I guess 7 years of gigging together will do that! This is the only show we have on the books for this summer, so be sure to come out and support the cause!

On June 15th, I have the pleasure of jamming with Georgia Funkadelic, Danny Metzger and Clint Lock at The Old Fox in Lynnville. We have been practicing our butts off and adding a few new songs. All three of these guys have been troopers in learning all of my material and I’m so thankful that they are joining me for this gig. We’d appreciate if everyone came out and showed The Old Fox how Angel Rhodes Band does it!!!

The final mixes have come in for the EP, so now I just get to listen to it a million times, submit my final edits and this bad boy is done!!!! I’m ecstatic on how well everything turned out. I even got my girl, Rita to sing a few harmonies for me I honestly got a little teary eyed when I heard the mixes for the first time. It’s crazy how much heart and soul goes into putting out original songs. I’m proud that I had a hand in every part of the production of this project and Steve Tyner is a friggin’ genius for making it come to life. I can’t wait to release this EP!!! Stay tuned!!

This month is going to be another busy one, so try to come and catch a show if you can! I do have a wedding to pay for so….lol!!!
