I’m back! And worse than ever! Who can believe it’s been twenty long years since the first non-teaser strip of Construction Paper Angst appeared.

Construction Paper Angst: The Complete Angstology

After a year (or is it 11?) of blood, sweat, and tears, Construction Paper Angst: The Complete Angstology is complete…ish. You can preview the entire thing on Blurb, or, better yet, buy it on dead trees. It contains every non-filler, non-guest strip as well as the Angstémon strips from 2009. It even includes a few new strips tucked in randomly to fill in some gaps.

Nearly all of the lettering had to be redone. I took out Freakazoid and the Old Lady Puppet. I erased the Fooniverse. It makes about 5% more sense than it did in its original form. Some artistic shortcuts were also fixed. It’s not quite George Lucas levels of authorial revisionism, but there are changes. I’m not sure yet if I’ll redo the archives on this site. They remain as-is for the time being.

I’m also thinking about new things.

Due to a severe lack in judgment, I’ve decided to anthologize the entire run of Construction Paper Angst in book form. I’m having a George Lucas moment and updating some of the visuals, tweaking characterizations, and inserting Jar Jar Binks. Ok, not really, but I am making some adjustments. One of the big changes is that I’m creating new strips to fill in gaps where I’d misnumbered strips.
The books will be lovingly designed and read by no one.

And so the entirely unnecessary epic that attempts to bridge the gap between 2003 and 2009 using the Watchmen as a vehicle begins. I’m making sure to violate the number one rule of webcomics, once again, off the bat by not being able to promise consistent updates.

Luckily here in the future, we have RSS readers, so you can subscribe to the feed and be notified whenever I update. I’m going to shoot for MWF, but comics will be entering the archive on a MTuWThF schedule as this is going to be longer than it should.

The time investment for metaphorically bridging the gap between six years ago and now via the Watchmen is totally ridiculous. I’ll claim that it’s a good opportunity for me to learn a lot more about Photoshop. Yes. This is professional development. Oh, and I should note the art for this strip will probably be tweaked. I half-assed a “modern” Topher (receding hairline, beard, no more Pony shirt) in Photoshop, but I will be creating an actual character.
